shadowbear9 said:And I am actually trying to find ways to get more Seroquel because I can't seem to fall asleep otherwise. I did ask her to put in a prescription for Misar and Sanval just in case, though... and she wrote down alprazolam instead. I told her, "No way, please just write Xanax," but she wouldn't budge. It was the same thing when I was in the hospital and they wouldn't prescribe Seroquel; they just kept giving me Loquem. They are so stubborn about sticking to their preferred brands.

Look, go ahead and request whatever dosage you need for sleep; I am certain she won't authorize more than what is medically appropriate for you.
Regarding the specific brands, I don't mind much when they substitute with domestic alternatives, as I assume there isn't much difference with most medications. However, reading through this forum, I have begun to realize that people truly can sense a distinction between the brand-name Seroquel and its generics.
How exactly did you manage to get that Seroquel approved through your insurance? Was it by adjusting the diagnosis? I don't personally need it, but I am curious if this is standard practice for everyone. On a side note, I heard Varga bought an office desk for over eight thousand dollars, while people are being denied coverage for life-critical medications. We would end up paying out of pocket just to survive.

shadowbear9 said:Hey everyone, how are you all doing? I was wondering what kind of treatment plans you're on and how you're actually managing them?

As for me, things have finally started to settle down a bit now that I'm on 60mg of Cymbalta in the morning and 600mg of Seroquel XR before bed. I can honestly say that since I started taking quetiapine—it’s been about three months now—I’ve actually been sleeping. I think I’ve maybe had five nights where I couldn't drift off, but even then, I usually just help myself out with some Sanval.🎉

The only real issue is that I've put on about 20 pounds, so I basically have nothing to wear anymore except for sweatpants.🕺 I guess I've tried cutting back on my meals, but at this rate, I feel like I'm just going to snap, haha.

Well, good for you. 🙂 Honestly, finally being able to sleep is the most important thing. Don't stress too much about the weight right now; who knows, maybe as you eventually taper down on the Seroquel, it will stabilize.
It's also great that Cymbalta is working for you. It provides such a massive energy boost; personally, it didn't sit well with me, but it really does pick you up when you're feeling dead. That’s just my experience. For me, it helped with the Rejica.
I truly hope you have decent insurance coverage for these medications, because those co-pays can really add up.

Also, I wanted to ask a general question. Do your primary care physicians actually prescribe the specific brand names recommended by specialists? My psychiatrists do, but whenever I deal with pain management, they always push one specific pharmaceutical company over others. I've taken plenty of different brands, even when the prices were identical. I've just noticed a pattern.
My therapist mentioned she heard from patients that Xanax works better than Helex or Misar. Apparently, it’s just because it dissolves faster in the stomach, leading to quicker relief. But of course, that really depends on an individual's digestion. 😁

Jason Vaughn482 said:Laughing at 10 mg? Honestly, that's about the same level of efficacy as Sanval to me. My psychiatrist actually mentioned that back in the day, versions like Cerson used to be much more potent, which might explain why people complain today that nothing seems to work anymore. As for myself, I've been on this for months now and I am still struggling; even with Sanval, I could never just flip a switch and fall asleep instantly. At this point, the sensation feels remarkably similar.

I'll look into it. I was discharged from neurosurgery yesterday, and they prescribed Cerson, so I picked it up at the pharmacy. When I got home, I found some Calixta I had left over. Taking 5 mg of Cerson along with 1/8 of a 15 mg Calixta felt alright. Honestly, though, I'm feeling a bit groggy right now because of the Tramadol I'm taking for the pain. I suspect that lower doses of Cerson will be enough to knock me out. I'm a little foggy, but nothing too serious. It might actually be a good idea to sit down with my therapist and discuss keeping a small dose of Calixta in my routine; since I'm not working right now, I can afford a bit of a hangover, and I imagine it will wear off eventually.

It seems like that Zan medication is completely useless. I don't even know anyone who takes it, and from what I've heard—and what we've discussed here on the forum—it's absolute garbage. They really should have approved something more substantial, which I'm sure exists.

Jason Vaughn482 said:Give Cerson a shot, but please don't throw in the towel immediately; when I first started, I felt like my heart was ticking like a metronome, but things have stabilized now. I take 10 mg along with Calixta, and those 7.5 mg doses don't knock me out like they used to. I feel a bit groggy in the morning until I finally sit down with a cup of coffee, but once that kicks in, everything settles down perfectly....

I see, so 10 mg is an option; I was under the impression they only came in 5 mg doses. I think I'll start with five and see how it interacts with the Calixta.

Jason Vaughn482 said:It's the same story for me; I tried the SR version once and found it completely ineffective.
They gave you Ambien last night, whereas they gave me mine just thirty minutes before the procedure.
Regarding Sanval, my doctor won't prescribe it under any circumstances unless I'm paying for a private prescription; instead, we stick to Cerson. At first, I was skeptical and thought it wouldn't work, but eventually, combined with a little Calixta at 7.5 mg, I can manage to fall asleep, though it takes a frustratingly long time to kick in... that's what gets under my skin the most. Once I am finally out, however, I sleep straight through until 9 in the morning.

I understand he isn't prescribing it. I honestly don't get why, especially since even for Cerson, the literature states it's only intended for short-term insomnia treatment. Well, I will likely be on medical leave again for about six months due to my upcoming surgery, so perhaps I will try taking a quarter of a 15 mg Calixta/Sanval/Cerson combo just to see if I can sleep without feeling completely groggy. I'll just have to track down some Calixta.

Yes, it was at night, but it did nothing. And then there was the half tablet thirty minutes before the procedure. I'm not sure if it actually relaxed me—probably, it did—but after a sleepless night followed by a restless morning, I was already too exhausted to care about the surgery itself.

I want to thank everyone for the kind wishes 🙂. The anesthesia went smoothly, and waking up was much the same; I’ll just be feeling a bit groggy for a few more hours. They gave me some Ambien last night to help me sleep, but honestly, I didn't feel a thing 😢
. Now begins a somewhat lengthy recovery process.
Thankfully, my liver is in perfect shape. I wasn't actually worried about my liver because of the psych meds, but rather because of the opioids I had to take for quite a while—and will have to continue for a little longer.
The doctor mentioned yesterday that for sleeping, I should use Cerson instead of Valium; apparently, there's no other way to go about it. When she checked in on me this morning, I told her everything felt pretty much the same. She emphasized that I shouldn't return to using Ambien, and according to the anesthesiologist, I really shouldn't. I assured her that I have no intention of doing so.
I once accidentally ended up with some 0.5 mg Xanax South Dakota due to a prescription error, but it just didn't work for me at all. I only take it rarely when I'm dealing with a panic attack and need immediate relief, and the South Dakota version just doesn't cut it for me.

Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly at the hospital. I read somewhere that you're worried about whether they'll actually manage to put you under—of course they will. If they can knock out an elephant before surgery, surely they can handle Zvonxa.😉

In my experience, 🙂 nothing really worked for me from the Dormicum. They gave me three different injections in the operating room to try and get me to sleep. After the second one, everyone was staring at me because I was still wide awake, until the anesthesiologist finally admitted they needed to give me more. It was a surreal sensation. One moment you're conscious, and then suddenly, there is just a total blackout—sleep and beautiful dreams. 🙂

Come on, just stay brave. It is perfectly normal that you’re struggling to sleep while navigating this new situation, and there is nothing wrong with using Miller to help you get some rest. Once you eventually settle into this new routine, you will find you can sleep just fine without it. 🙂

I have a hospital appointment scheduled for this Sunday, which includes anesthesia. 😢 The doctor told me I could take whatever I need, morning or afternoon—whether it’s Normabel or Xanax—and then they'll provide Dormicum tonight to help me sleep. Hopefully, I'll actually be able to drift off. 😢
Another morning, and half the dormitory is already awake before my surgery. Honestly, I’m starting to wonder how I’m going to handle all of this hitting me at once.

Therapy is absolutely non-negotiable when dealing with anxiety and panic attacks because, unfortunately, there isn't an antidepressant out there that will completely eliminate the anxiety; for the panic specifically, you might need to supplement with Xanax. That said, I am truly glad you are pursuing therapy for all of this. It gives me a sense of courage. Sometimes I find myself thinking, "So what if I lose my mind over something I'm afraid of?" Usually, I don't end up losing it, and even if I did, I know my therapist will be there to pull me back—or prescribe something to steady me if necessary. Having that safety net, knowing there is someone who will step in when the panic becomes overwhelming, is exactly what keeps me grounded.
Give it a shot. Personally, I found Integrative therapy to be excellent, whereas Gestalt just wasn't for me, and CBT homework assignments never quite clicked with my personality. Now, I prefer receiving more direct guidance—essentially, how would my therapist handle things if she saw me spiraling from fear? She’d likely want to avoid any unnecessary escalation. To be honest, I find those "pros and cons" lists or writing down thoughts on paper to be somewhat insulting to my intelligence; my brain tends to outsmart those exercises, racing at a hundred miles an hour regardless of what I put on the page.

In my view, medication alone is largely ineffective unless one is dealing with psychosis. For almost everything else, psychotherapy is absolutely essential. Medication should only ever be used as a supporting tool alongside therapy. To put it another way, if you are capable of resolving your issues on your own—whether through your social circle, your faith, or alternative wellness practices—then you shouldn't need medication at all. However, if you find yourself needing them, it's a sign that you need someone to help shake things up, helping you process and implement meaningful changes in your life. Personally, I practice integrative therapy; it’s a bit of a blend of various modalities, and I find it incredibly helpful.

The anesthesiologist told me today that I can take Xanax the day before. They plan to give me 15 mg of Doriden in the evening, even though I mentioned I’ve been using it for quite a while. My main concern is whether it will actually knock me out 😢 She told me not to mess around with Samuel.
Then, right before the procedure, I'll be back on 7.5 mg of Doriden. I might ask my therapist to give her a call, but I’m honestly not sure how she could help me sleep; I need to be fully lucid by morning for the anesthesia, not wandering around in a fog because of Callista or something similar 😢
It was a damned day when I accidentally took the Doriden instead of the Samuel.
The only thing I'd try is asking for two doses, but she won't budge on that, especially since she already gave me the whole 😁

Well, 😢 it seems we are all facing the same fears.
Are you having spinal anesthesia? 🙂 I've had spinal anesthesia twice myself for my scoliosis, but this time they have to go under general due to the nature of the procedure.
Feel free to ask him if you don't mind, though I'll also be discussing this with my therapist. I don't think we really need to worry about the anesthesia itself, as they'll make sure we're asleep. My main goal is just ensuring I get some actual rest beforehand. 🙂
She did tell me, "We can't keep you under spinal anesthesia indefinitely; if it drags on, you'll lose your mind, so it's better if you don't remember anything."
However, she didn't say anything about having to stop the Adderall or sedatives after the operation. That feels like a positive sign.

Sending love, friend.

Kimberly Morris said:Hey guys, how’s it going? Personally, I’m a total wreck... It’s been exactly three weeks since I abruptly quit my Lexapro. I just got out of the shower and everything went south—sudden shortness of breath, bone-dry mouth, lightheadedness, the shakes. Honestly, I legit thought I was dying. My mental health is trashed, my physical state is a mess, and I don’t have an emergency psych clinic nearby or anyone to turn to. Please, I need help. I am beyond desperate and honestly terrified right now.

I know things are incredibly difficult for you right now 😢 but this is almost certainly due to coming off the Lexapro... Just try to stay brave. If they prescribed you Norvasc or any similar calming medication, try to use it to help yourself through this. For instance, a close friend of mine was given 2 mg doses three times a day because she was also going through withdrawal, and she was also receiving IV fluids at Mayo Clinic due to pregnancy-related nausea. If you have something on hand, it might settle you down until you can actually see a psychiatrist.

Kimberly Morris said:So, you just stopped cold turkey too? Why'd you do that? Did your symptoms come crawling back?

I felt like I was finally making progress, which is why I decided to discontinue my treatment. Unfortunately, things took a turn. A few months later, I found myself facing a situation almost identical to the one that triggered my initial need for therapy. It felt like being in a complete coma, and predictably, everything came rushing back.

Really hoping it's just pregnancy symptoms and nothing else 🙂

Sending good vibes your way... 🙂

Just try to be patient; everything will eventually settle down. 🙂))
The nausea is likely just from the pregnancy.
It has been a very long time since I personally tapered myself off Paxil. At the time, I didn't know anyone else taking medication, nor did I bother reading the instructions. For two weeks, I felt as though I were coming down with a bad flu combined with these strange electric shocks running through my body, but I had absolutely no idea what was happening to me. I didn't realize it then. It was a case of naive ignorance.

I suppose it varies from doctor to doctor, so I really hope you don't end up having my kind of "luck"😲🙄

Avery, I really feel I should consult with an anesthesiologist about this. I am aware that most patients are given something to help them relax during the night before, so I will simply suggest they find a way to accommodate me. Surely those medications are still readily available these days. You just have to speak up and let them know.

Don't sweat it—they'll put you out like a baby. Just make sure you're upfront with the anesthesiologist about every single pill you've taken; I'm pretty sure you already know that part.😉

Reese 🙂 It has been two years since I last used it. At one point, I found out about my situation, and then there was the matter of surgery—I wasn't about that life. I actually still have a box sitting at home. About a month ago, I tested myself with one, and honestly, it didn't hit me as hard as I expected. It’s quite something, considering I haven't touched it in nearly two years. Still, I know it will knock me right out. 🙂 I am simply hoping that I will be permitted to take my Xanax on the day of the party; otherwise, I find myself seriously considering staying home. 🙂 But then again, they probably have some actual experience dealing with this kind of thing.

Richard Johnson13 said:They hand out Dalmane at the local hospital as one of those pills to help you come down from the dopamine rush, or after dealing with heavy opioids. You take it right before bed, like ten minutes before hitting the sheets. They rarely prescribe Vanval in the States. It’s super addictive though, really strong stuff, and the street price is about $67 for a box of 10. If anyone happens to know anything or has some Duragesic patches, could you shoot me a DM? Thanks much

That’s just wonderful. I’m sure my anesthesiologist will be absolutely thrilled to hear that I was officially on Dalmane for a full year due to chronic insomnia. Still, I trust they’ll find a way to knock me out. They have to. I suppose that is just how they handle addicts—treating everything with such clinical indifference, isn't it?
