Yeah, I know—I’m a bit of a nutcase. I don't exactly contribute to the senseless suffering of those poor, soulless creatures.🤣

Desperado said:but you just said all living beings are equal😕
you're basically contradicting yourself here, man.

I think you've made quite a mess of things in this instance.

WTF😕
Of course all living beings should be treated equally—that’s a given. It has absolutely nothing to do with my point about not being on an animal's level, nor my stance against living by a "survival of the fittest" code.😕

Thomas Stewart97 said:WHY DO THESE DAMN VEGETARIANS CONSTANTLY TRY TO CONVINCE EVERYONE ELSE THEY’RE RIGHT AND WE’RE WRONG? Honestly—I couldn't care less if you decide to live on plastic alone; just leave the rest of us in peace. Who cares if the pig suffered? I've got pork chops on the menu tonight! You aren't going to change the world with those hippie ideals. If nature hadn't intended for us to eat meat, we wouldn't have canines—we'd have cow teeth and thirty feet of intestines just to try and digest cellulose.

what you do, comes back to you🙂

Donald Trump said:In my view, humans will always hold a higher standing than animals—primarily because I believe we are the only ones endowed with a soul.

Honestly, I think you’re just lacking a soul entirely—which, frankly, is the core truth of what life is all about.🙂

Disperadun said:Thomas Stewart97, do you believe in God? If so, what's your faith?
Look, here in America, over 85% of people identify as Christian—and according to that doctrine, animals and all the world's resources were handed to humans to rule over. Even the Bible mentions animal sacrifices, and in some cases, even people...

Furthermore, why do we keep buying cheap goods from places like China or Taiwan when it's common knowledge that those products are often made by children under 12 working 16-hour days?
There is far too much suffering in this world that simply goes ignored. Personally, I think humans will always hold precedence over animals—mostly because I believe only we possess a soul.

I believe in karma and reincarnation.
The Bible has been modified.

Disperadun said:I think I was pretty clear when I said I’d prefer animals to be slaughtered without unnecessary shock or suffering—period. It’s not like meat is a requirement; I’d just rather eat it than stick strictly to vegetables and such because that simply isn't enough for me. If people had been vegetarians even 100 years ago, the human race probably wouldn't have survived. Look, do you actually grasp that the human body is designed with a digestive tract that allows us to be omnivores? Why fight against nature?! Besides, you are food to someone else—it's just a fact. Being overly sensitive doesn't make you any smarter.

🤣Give me an actual argument here—you're being genuinely ridiculous and dense. You mention universal laws, yet your own logic suggests that in the animal kingdom, the rule is simply "eat or be eaten"...

So, I'm "ridiculous and dense" because I believe "the rule is eat or be eaten in the animal kingdom"???😕 🤣

First off, my understanding is that I am not part of the animal kingdom in that sense—I am not operating at an animalistic level—so that "animal law" of "eat or be eaten" doesn't apply to me.

I live in a modern society where meat-free options are readily available; by choosing to eat this way, I am directly preventing the slaughter and immense suffering of countless animals.

God gave me intellect and the power of reasoning. I would argue that a plant-based diet is the right choice—since in today's world, there is no necessity for humans to consume carcasses or slaughter animals just to satisfy cravings or primal urges.

I prioritize life, whereas you seem focused on slaughter, death, and carcasses.
For you, the rule is "eat or be eaten," but for me, it is "live and let live."🙂

hereticST said:My take? Vegetarians are at the bottom of the food chain—followed by carnivores, then omnivores. Since humans are omnivores, neither group can really claim any intellectual superiority over us. In my view, vegetarians aren't any smarter than the rest of the population (omnivores).

Interesting point.

Disperadun said:Are you kidding me? Meat consumption is baked into our very history—it's natural. Do you honestly think an antelope feels better being taken down by a lion than by a hunter with a rifle? That’s just how nature works. Everything is food for something else; you're just food for worms, for instance.
It isn't about intelligence—though perhaps you lack the capacity to grasp this point. Besides, does being a sadist automatically make someone unintelligent? No—it just makes them inhumane. History is full of brilliant individuals who were also quite wicked.

I don't support slaughter, and I'd much prefer we find ways to ensure animals don't suffer during the process.
Ultimately, it all comes down to your own philosophy, not your IQ. To me, all living things are equal—animals, plants, fungi, viruses, bacteria—with the sole exception of humans.

People are actively contributing to slaughter and causing immense suffering to animals. For me, all living beings hold equal weight because they evoke the same sense of empathy and compassion within me.
I can't quite wrap my head around your logic—I suppose it's some sort of refined sensitivity that simply hasn't developed in everyone. Some people are completely devoid of that feeling. For example, you equate an animal to a bacterium; you don't care if an animal dies in agony because you enjoy meat too much—you feel a little sorry, sure, but "meat must be eaten."
There are people who could never bring themselves to harm an animal, yet they still buy packaged meat from the grocery store because they can't bridge the mental gap between the two.
A sadist isn't intelligent—if they were, they would realize the universe didn't just happen by accident. There is an order to this creation. A sadist lacks empathy, but they also lack true intelligence—because if they actually possessed it, they would understand that by hurting others, they are ultimately hurting themselves.

unknown said:you can definitely draw some conclusions from this thread—just not the one suggesting vegetarians are more intelligent...

Based on your posts—it seems you're quite the advocate for animal slaughter and suffering—truly brilliant stuff.🤮

Eric Patel21 said:They can't catch me—they never have before. 🙄 Maybe it’s because I’m in a cage 🙄 or maybe it's because I’ve got a rifle. 🙄 WHO DO YOU THINK IS SMARTER THEN?

Hold on a second—you started this whole argument by claiming a lion is smarter than a gazelle just because the gazelle is "dumb" enough to get caught, while the lion is "smart" because he eats meat. 🙄
Now you're suggesting you're smarter than a tiger simply because it's behind bars—even though that tiger actually consumes way more meat than you ever will. What does any of that have to do with a discussion about nutrition?
I honestly don't see the point of what you're getting at.

Chris Peterson53 unknown said:Honestly—they all just form a pretty mindless group.😁

Yeah, they're absolute idiots—they don't know how to scavenge smart like you do.🙂

Eric Patel21 said:Why can't a lion catch me, and why don't I eat him? 😕 Why can't a monkey be caught? 😕

WTF😕

Eric Patel21 said:I'm not sure if anyone has brought this up yet—but in the wild, aren't predators actually smarter than herbivores? I mean, how would a lion ever catch a gazelle if the gazelle were actually more intelligent than him?😕

Well, true... if she were smarter, perhaps she'd be better at hiding—or maybe she'd "learn" how to run faster.🙄

Maria Moore4 said:Wait, you're a vegan, right?

So, you take those B12 supplements?

You know—the ones tested on animals?

🤣

I don't take any pills.
Besides, B12 is already added to soy milk.

Disperadun said:From what I can gather, soy is basically the primary source of essential proteins for most people—which also happens to be one of the most common GMO products out there. They tend to splice in genes from things like fish and stuff like that...

The soy I buy actually carries a certification—I'm pretty sure even the brands at Whole Foods have labels explicitly stating they are GMO-free.

I’m feeling pretty discouraged—honestly said:I’m not talking about products that contain animal ingredients—I mean those that are actually tested on animals. Think about it: if you were sick and needed medication, you wouldn't just refuse to take it, right? Take insulin, for example—if someone needs it to survive, they aren't going to turn it down. And does anyone actually know how pharmaceutical companies produce that stuff?
Rachel Martinez11 mentioned they’re trying to steer clear of those products—but you? You don't use any of them at all. I find that hard to believe—really...

It goes without saying—I simply don't use any products that are tested on animals.
If you check the lists on Peta.org regarding what to buy and what to avoid—honestly, what part of that is hard to believe? A huge number of products from brands like Dove are just as vegan as those from Gareth Bale or Lush. It really isn't right to use products that claim they aren't tested on animals when, in reality, they are living beings.
I wouldn't rule out taking medication entirely—but I’d certainly look into alternatives first. Honestly, if someone takes an antibiotic that's been tested and uses a gelatin capsule, it doesn't make them a hypocrite just because they don't eat meat. We have options today—real choices—and if choosing one specific path helps prevent animal suffering, then taking that antibiotic isn't a wasted effort. At the end of the day, antibiotics are used occasionally, whereas opting out of meat saves animals on a daily basis.

Sophia Allen12 said:Like I said before—you people are incredibly hypocritical! You act all high and mighty about how we can't eat animals because they suffer, their eyes look sad, blah blah blah...
But then you turn around and support those poor creatures being used in countless medical tests—for kids' medicine or whatever else—and suddenly that’s perfectly fine with you! 🤔

If you actually cared about animals, you wouldn't be using products containing animal byproducts—deodorants, shampoos, etc.—in the first place. Total hypocrites!

I stick strictly to vegan products—it's been three years since I've touched dairy. As for medicine, I don't use it. I even found a specialty shop in Trieste that carries vegetarian dog food.

Oh sure—you’re just so brilliant and enlightened because you don't eat meat! 👋

🤣

Enlightened? 😕
I haven't touched meat once in the last 12 years—purely out of compassion for animals. Honestly, I can't wrap my head around how people can eat carcasses without feeling a shred of guilt; it seems completely abnormal to me. But fine—everything finds its level eventually.
P.S.
Karma is a bitch.🙂
