Anyone else feeling completely unmotivated lately? in Psychology & Therapy ·
I’m starting this thread because, even though my life is actually quite good—I have my career, my family, friends, and a boyfriend—I’ve been feeling this strange sense of listlessness lately. I certainly have reasons to feel dissatisfied, but it isn't even that... everything just feels completely indifferent to me. How are you all holding up?
I honestly believe you should start focusing on some self-work, specifically regarding letting go of fear. You really need to stop limiting yourself with these imaginary anxieties. And this fear of saying something stupid? What’s the worst that could happen? Everyone says something ridiculous once in a while... Just tell yourself, "Today, I am going to be the best version of myself," and actually mean it. If you mess up tomorrow, just fix it; you'll improve over time. Also, judging by your posts and what you've described, it seems like you're dealing with some mood swings and hallucinations. Please, consider seeing a psychiatrist to see if medication—like antidepressants or antipsychotics—might help you through this period of transition. Medication can truly make a difference, from my own experience, but talking to a professional and practicing self-reflection is equally vital. Ultimately, you have to accept yourself, flaws and all, and learn to love who you are. Then, everything will fall into place.
