cosmicnomad6 said:Yeah, I’m super short, definitely under 5'3'' 🤣 And yeah, I'm curvy. It's not just me noticing it either; everyone else sees it too. I was looking at a video from four years ago today—back then I was a size Medium, and I could actually fit into a Small (I've always had wider hips and a larger bust regardless of my weight). Regarding that dress 5rich I just can't bring myself to wear something that isn't my style, even if it did look good 😁 Plus, it probably wouldn't even flatter me because it would make my chest look even bigger, and I'm wearing a D/E cup 😢 I also don't emphasize my waist because then my bust looks massive, which I'm not a fan of, and besides, it's just not my vibe 😁 Thanks for the advice though. By the way, I know a lot of plus-size girls shop at stores like Nordstrom, but I wasn't sure where to look... do they ship to us?

Bebilina wait, an XL has always been my size, how was it a Medium? 🤷

It wouldn't make your chest look bigger. Trust me, I know the drill with large busts and how to visually minimize them. 😁 I’m an E/F cup, sometimes a G if the cup is shallow. 😢 Even after losing a ton of weight, my cup size didn't budge an inch; it was just my waistline that changed. I had this animal print top about two years ago, black and white, a bit loose-fitting, but I’d cinch it with a belt and it looked feminine—showed off my curves without being too much. But hey, I'm not the topic here.
You don't need to force a waistline with belts all the time; if the cut is right, the clothes will do the work for you.
Yeah, DP ships here. They were a total lifesaver for me back when I was heavier, and I still pick up pieces from them now. Shipping is usually 6 bucks, but I think they have free shipping on orders over $30 until tomorrow night. Usually, it kicks in at $50.

Susan Anderson33 said:I don't know what to tell you—you aren't XL, let alone XXXL.
Everything here is backwards. If you aren't wearing a size 4 or 6—or better yet, that famous American size 0—then you’re overweight.
Even the ads for XL clothing are trying to sell us size 12s!!!
12 isn't XL.
12 is a Medium.
XL is a 16 or an 18. That’s XL.
You aren't fat, and you aren't even "curvy"—you're just a normal girl with some shape, and I don't see why you need to wrap yourself up and hide your chest.
Obviously, you aren't going to walk around half-naked, but you'll be doing that kind of hiding when you're 50 or 60 and dealing with wrinkles and maybe grandkids.

The girl is probably short. If I remember correctly, she mentioned somewhere in this thread that she's about 5'3". For someone who's 5'3", a size 12 is plus-size territory. For someone who's 5'11", sizes 12, 14, or 16 are totally standard. The number doesn't actually matter; it's all about height and build. When I was 5'4" and weighing nearly 175 lbs, I wore a 12 in pants and usually a 14 on top. People on this thread used to call those normal sizes, not plus-size, but for my height, those were definitely plus-size numbers because I was fat. Not "curvy," not a "normal girl with curves," just fat. Now, at around 130 lbs at that same height, I'm just a normal girl with curves, mostly because I still have a bust and hips and I'm not just skin and bones. I'm far from skinny, but I am slim. I wear a 6, which is a normal size for my height. On top, I sometimes hit a 8 or 10 if it's a blouse or a shirt, since I have to taper them at the waist, hips, and arms.

Stella regardless of how you saw yourself, I'd tell you to stay away from those boxy cuts and those leggings or stretchy pants. You're a beautiful girl; stick to tailored, feminine cuts. As soon as you define your waist, you look thinner. There are plenty of great tops and dresses with a defined waist, even the ones designed to "create" a waist.
IMHO, something like this would suit you way better (ignore the pattern/color, it's not really my style, just look at the cut): http://www.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpu...42?bi=1&ps=200
When the top is cut straight across, it just widens your shoulders and visually balloons your chest, and since it isn't cinched, your stomach ends up looking like a balloon. You don't have to squeeze into tight things; tight isn't the same thing as being tailored to your body.

EDIT:
Tanesha is my favorite plus-size blogger (and she is plus-size by any metric), and she just has such great vibes.
Look at the difference a waist makes: (especially that last photo in the purple top)

Incomparable.

Sam Martin said:Ugh, I am so frustrated right now... 🙂

I need to find a light, airy summer dress—nothing too long, just anything that isn't black, since I can't exactly show up to a courthouse wedding looking like I'm heading to a funeral... and obviously, I need it by $167 🙄.
I already wasted my time checking out H&M, C&A, and Takko Fashion... but I couldn't find a single thing in my size. Everything is just way too small. I guess maybe there's something at Nordstrom, New Look, or somewhere else entirely?
HELP!!!

Take a look at MANA. A few weeks back, they had this gorgeous, flowy little dress—it came in white and black. The cut was just perfect, and honestly, it fit like a dream. I remember seeing it and thinking it actually looked high-end, which is rare these days. Everything feels so disposable now, you know? You buy something that looks great online, and then it shows up looking like a cheap rag from a discount bin. But that one? It was actually something special. Just a nice, simple piece that didn't try too hard.
No photos. I mean, don't go covering up your hands or anything, but you could always just drape a light pashmina or throw a blazer over yourself if you’re worried about it. Just a thought.

[No content provided for translation/re-crafting.] $40 She was there. Just like that. It happened, and now it’s done. No big deal, really. Just another thing that passed by while I was sitting there staring at the wall, wondering if I should have ordered the extra fries at Wendy's earlier. Everything just sort of exists, then it doesn't. That's life, I guess. Or whatever.
There are still more models out there, but this one really caught my eye. 😁
I reckon they come in larger sizes, too. A friend of mine over there picks up jeans all the time, and she’s out there rocking a size 50.

Jeffrey Thomas12 said:Hey everyone, quick question: does anyone know if there are certain brands of birth control pills that won't trigger cellulite?

It’s possible you’ll get it regardless of what you take, or maybe you won't at all. Nobody can give you a guarantee on that. If you eat right, stay active, drink enough water, and have decent circulation, you might dodge it. Or maybe not. It just goes that way sometimes.
Sandra Phillips2 said:I’ve actually been on them since I was twelve—though, honestly, I didn't start the actual pills until I was seventeen. Hehe.
I can't say for sure if I’ve gained weight since starting them, or if my chest got bigger, or if I've become lazy. 😁 Those are just common myths, really—everything is totally different depending on how your body reacts. And if you think weight gain equals getting cellulite, it doesn't. Just look at thin women or athletes under twenty; they might have it, or they might not. Cellulite is just something that happens in life, regardless of whether you're on birth control or not.

Cellulite doesn't really have anything to do with weight gain; it's more about water retention. In all the different pills I've cycled through—and I've tried quite a few—water retention was always listed as a potential side effect. It just depends on your own biology whether your body decides to hold onto that extra fluid or not. The only ones that didn't make me bloat were Qlaira, though I wouldn't go so far as to say they were perfect in every other way.

Ronald Clark6 said:Greetings,

There is likely an answer to my question buried somewhere in this vast ocean of posts, but I have combed through several pages and come up empty-handed.
To be blunt, my girlfriend has started taking "Claire" birth control pills. My question is this: at what point does sex actually become safe? She is scheduled to take her sixth pill today, and tomorrow we are planning on ... 🙂 . Can we finally relax and enjoy ourselves with full completion, or do we still need to exercise caution? I am requesting an urgent response. 😉

It's called Qlaira.
If she started the pack on the very first day of her period, then you don't need extra protection. If she didn't start on day one, you guys should use backup protection for the first 9 days.

There's a collection of B&B spots over in the city. They've got some near West Gate and CC1 East. Might be some options at the American Mall too, I think. 🤷
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
They don't even prescribe Diane anymore for birth control—not really. It’s mostly just used for PCOS or hormone imbalances these days. Honestly, those pills are incredibly intense. Don't even think about trying to track them down. They just throw your entire system into total chaos. I remember a friend back in Chicago who tried to get her hands on them, and let's just say her body felt like a battlefield for months. Just... be careful.

I think Yasmin is 118, if I recall correctly. Anyway, everything from Bayer has gone up in price. Everything. It’s just one thing after another lately.
John Thomas2, have you ever actually listened to Lyndinette? They’re really something else. Just... wow. $10 It’s about $70 if you get them on a private prescription, though the cost changes if they're covered under a standard insurance script. They usually come in two different dosages—either 20 or 30.

Jeffrey Palmer7 said:Thanks, but what about protection?

Seven days should be plenty, just like the instructions say.😉
Jeffrey Palmer7 said:Yesterday, I missed my pill by about 12 hours and 30 minutes. Since I only have two pills left in my current pack, the instructions say that instead of taking a break after those last two, I should just jump straight into a brand-new pack. So, I’m essentially following the manual here—does that sound right? Also, the leaflet mentions needing extra protection for seven days following a missed dose. In my case, would using backup protection for just the next seven days be enough to stay safe?

Yeah, 🙂 go ahead and do exactly what the instructions say.

Angela Martin2 said:If the fabric is thick enough so you aren't showing everything—and if the cut actually fits your shape instead of looking like cheap leggings—then yeah, absolutely.

I mean, it’s not "illegal" to wear them if they don't fit right, but it just doesn't look very classy... 😍

Personally, I think this whole look is a mess regardless of your body type. 😬 I mean, fine, maybe they hide the extra weight, but then they just highlight your underwear instead. 😁

Pants can look absolutely gross whether you're skinny or curvy. 🤷

But here is the dilemma: I stumbled upon these beige pants that fit me incredibly well. They sit just right and don't highlight any imperfections, but they are... beige.

Can a lady with a healthy appetite truly justify wearing beige?

Why not? 🤷

The Iron Lady official US trailer in Movies ·
Watched it the other night.
The acting was flawless 🙏
But honestly, the plot was a total mess. It leans way too hard into this psychological profile of an aging Margaret. Every time the movie tries to get some actual momentum going, it drags you back into her past, and then when it finally hits the present, you completely lose the thread. I found myself struggling just to keep up with what was actually happening.
It could have been so much better, IMO.🤷

I think I’m going to pick up some Qlair in Canada. Back here in the States, it’s basically the same deal as Yaz, but over there it’s only like ten bucks.

I feel like I just have to chime in on this one... 😲 Are you actually sure about those measurements, dear? I do most of my shopping at Target, and ever since my band size bumped up to an 85E—it used to be 80E—the staff there always used to give me these looks because I seemed so "small" for such a large cup size... Honestly, I don't think I've ever met anyone who wears a 75 and has a cup that big... My friend has a toddler and she's also an 80 band, so I guess I'm just wondering if it's all about how different brands scale things, or if there are people out there with proportions that make mine look tiny by comparison.😉

🤔 Am I actually sure about anything?
Jason Moore63 explained it to you—it’s all about the back. For example, every shirt I own fits perfectly in the front but is way too loose in the back... if I size up to fix that, the whole shape just falls apart.
Look, the whole reason I’m grabbing the 75E is so I can clip it on the widest setting right out of the gate—that way, when it inevitably stretches out, I actually have some room to tighten it back up. If I go with an 80, I’m stuck using the loosest notch from day one... and once that gives way, the thing is basically trash.

I wear an 85D from Etam and an 80E, and they're basically jumping out—it's wild. I've got some Triumph 80Ds that fit pretty well though... but honestly, it all comes down to the cut, how the cup is shaped, and what kind of fabric they use.

When it comes to H&M, you really have to pick carefully. It’s like the same bra size can fit totally different ways—one day it's huge, the next it's perfect, and then one just barely holds everything in... I've got three of theirs and they all fit differently. One's too big, one's just right, and one is basically screaming for mercy... 🤷
It’s true. I’ve got the black eyeliner and the foundation—same exact brand. The black one is a bit larger than the foundation bottle, if that matters. Not that it does. They were expensive as hell, though. $27 I guess I’m not allowed to complain. Not that it matters much anyway. Life just keeps rolling along, doesn't it? One thing after another. You try to find a little bit of footing, maybe catch a break, and then—bam—the rules change again. It’s fine. Really. I’ll just sit here and take it like everyone else does. No use making a scene. Just another day in the grind. 😁

I'm a 70-75E. My friend is a 90B. It isn't really about how big your breasts are, it's about the width of your ribcage. When I was carrying an extra 45 pounds, I was wearing an 80E.
Victoria's Secret doesn't carry 70E in every single style, sure, but brands like Triumph, Chantelle, maybe even Anita—plus all those online shops—have them readily available.

Our chests are basically the same size, except Kris and I have narrower backs than you do.

I have two H&M bras. I mistakenly grabbed an 80D without trying it on first, thinking they'd fit, but they looked huge. Sadly, they don't work. My boobs just spill right out of them. 🙄 I mostly just wear them around the house. 🙈 They are comfortable enough and feel sturdy, though.

Tyler Clark48 said:So, I’ve got an athletic build—thicker thighs, I guess. Every time I buy a fresh pair of jeans, they start fraying between my legs within a month. It’s just constant friction from my thighs rubbing together until the fabric gives out, even when the clothes are brand new. Is there any way to fix this? Maybe sew some reinforcement inside? Any advice? I’m not even overweight by any stretch, but it happens with everything—sweatpants, shorts, cargo shorts... anything new just shreds in that spot eventually.

Of course it can be fixed. Honestly, it happens to pretty much everyone who carries muscle in their legs.
Just take them to a local tailor. They’ll know exactly how to patch or reinforce the area, and honestly, you won't even notice once it's done.

Over the years, I've figured out which brands actually make denim that holds up better for people with thicker thighs. For instance, Gap, Old Navy, Levi Strauss & Co.,...

Jack Gray51 said:You basically took my "logic," twisted it into this weird little bucket, and now your conclusion doesn't even match what I actually said.
Basically, what I was saying is that I find it totally bizarre how people have zero issue dropping $267 on a dress they’ll wear once or twice, yet suddenly act like spending $133 on everyday clothes—stuff you'll wear for at least two years and probably ten times a month—is some huge deal.

Yeah, I honestly don't get it. Especially when we're talking about a city that isn't exactly mid-sized and where having decent, well-made clothes actually matters.

I mean, look—you buy a shirt in NYC for like $30, wash it three times, and the seams warp so bad it looks like trash. I'd much rather go to an upscale spot in the Upper East Side and spend $83 on something I can wear for three years where the stitching actually stays put.

@Peter Gray2: yeah, you're right, you aren't gonna find a high-quality gown for $50. But do you seriously think some pair of jeans from Topshop in NYC for $50 are going to be just as good as a $150 pair from Esprit or Mustang or whatever?

Look, I'm not Freakette, and I'm not plus size either, but jeans from places like NY & Co., Gap, or similar stores—even the ones priced around $30—along with Tommy Hilfiger, Esprit, S. Oliver, or Amadeus... they all rip between my thighs just as fast because I have muscular legs. It doesn't matter which brand. After two months, I'm basically having to staple them together just to walk. Honestly, I'd rather just go back every couple of months and grab a new pair from NY & Co. or Gap for $67, than drop $267 on something that’s just going to end up shredded between my legs anyway. (Actually, if we're being real, the stuff from Dorothy Perkins or Gap usually holds up better for me).

The only exceptions are Mustang or Tom Tailor, which are great, but they rarely carry the specific cut I need (higher rise, skinny leg).

Sadly, or maybe luckily, price doesn't mean quality anymore.

If anyone’s looking—Target has some decent stuff on sale right now. You can actually find some nice basic tees and cardigans without feeling like you're digging through a bin. Even their pants are marked down, somewhere from $70 to $47. My mom picked up a top today and, honestly, it’s actually decent quality. They’ve got a good amount of winter gear over at $17 too—maybe around $23 items.

Nathan Baker said:Regarding the shop itself... I used to go there... though that might have been a decade ago now, but I seem to recall it being on that street leading from the main square toward the historic district, right behind that big department store near the central plaza (goodness, I can never remember what locals call that massive building behind the main statue, you know the one). Heaven knows if it’s still hanging around somewhere...

And about that belt... you might be onto something there, but I won't know for sure until I actually try it on... assuming I even bother to look for it, depending on what catches my eye.

Image Haddad isn gone from the area. Apparently, there’s a new spot over on Radnicka, and word on the street is they actually carry plus-size stuff. I haven't made the trip out there myself yet, so who knows if that's even true. Just another thing changing around here.
Angela Martin2 said:Are you thinking of Harmica? Still not sure, but doesn't matter.

Two other spots popped into my head:

1) Nebo (I only ever went to their Kaptol Center location) and I was honestly obsessed with how their size 12 is actually a true 12 and not some weird 6, plus the cuts were pretty feminine—for my taste, anyway. I was pushing 200 lbs back then, yet I could pull off a size 12 skirt. And it actually looked good.

2) Another shop—can't recall the name—but it's at the start of Radićeva, right by that little alleyway with the winding stairs that takes you up to the historic district. They have these killer cuts that really flatter curves. No clue about sizing, though.

It’s pretty weird if you ask me. Usually, they don't bother stitching anything larger than a size 4 in these shops. Just doesn't happen. 🙄 Sometimes you run into something big, but honestly, it’s pretty rare. You’ll find some size 40 pieces that are actually huge—big enough for someone who usually wears a 12 or 14—but then you turn around and hit those other cuts that are so ridiculously tight a 40 feels more like an 8. It's all over the place. 🙄

I know exactly which shop you mean—they always have those gorgeous dresses sitting right there in the window.😍
