We just go by about a quarter pound per person... honestly, it’s the simplest way for us to keep the math straight.

😂😂 I would be absolutely thrilled if things actually worked out that way. I’ll have to make sure to save this thread—I want to come back a few days after the wedding and report back on exactly how many pastries we managed to go through.
Man, I envy you guys... We’re looking at about 170 guests. And I completely forgot—it’s a tradition where we bring gifts over on the Thursday and Friday before the wedding, so we'll need to have plenty of cookies ready by then too... hahahahaha, I can't even deal.
I honestly don’t even know. Just thinking about the sheer amount of desserts I’d have to order makes me feel a little lightheaded. See, the tradition dictates we have sweets during the afternoon snack, and then when they head to the reception—which, in my case, would mean having a table piled high with treats right in front of the house—plus there's the restaurant portion, and finally, everyone gets a little something to take home. To top it all off, the older folks usually spend Monday morning dropping off leftovers to neighbors, acquaintances, and relatives who couldn't make the wedding... blah, blah, blah. Long story short, I'm looking at at least 120 pounds of dessert.
I honestly can’t wrap my head around why you all are getting so worked up over such nonsense. Personally, I think having a dedicated little corner just for cookies is a bit much—it feels almost excessive. At this rate, you won't even have any cookies left because everyone will be too self-conscious to go grab one, fearing they'll get judged for how many they're eating. Just put the cookies out on the table from the start and call it a day.
I’m planning on hosting about 170 guests, and I’ve decided to go with round tables for the layout. My idea is to place 1 kg of dessert on each table—so, with 17 tables total, that works out to roughly 10 people per table.
I just grabbed this cake, and now I'm thinking... what if I swapped out this single candle on top for those little glitter spray cans instead? 🤷 I feel like if I just leave it as is, half the crowd won't even notice it, but the spray would definitely pop! 😁
Google, I am totally obsessed with this cake too; it looks absolutely perfect. Next week, I’m actually going to start hunting for a local bakery that can whip up something exactly like this—the shop featured here is a bit of a trek from where I live. 😢
I think I'll stick with the candles, though, since I'm planning these glitter sprays for a kid's birthday party. Now I'm just torn between choosing the topper with the couple on a motorcycle or the heart shape (though, honestly, I'm leaning more toward the heart).
That cake looks incredible—honestly, I’d love to get one just like it, though maybe with a different flavor profile.🤣 If your father-in-law is just a big jokester, then I guess it’s all good.😉
Uploaded with Imgur So here’s the cake! I honestly think it turned out fantastic, mostly because we went with candles instead of those messy sprinkles—we aren't really big fans of those—and we could actually use some fresh flowers on top. Because of that, I guess it might just be better to stick with Tricia's way of doing things
Where on earth did you find this picture??
There are some really great ideas on this site too: http://www.peggyporschen.com/default.asp This particular one really caught my eye: http://www.peggyporschen.com/Tiered-...set=36&id=177#

Honestly, I am totally in love with this cake. I'm saving this photo right now... 🙏
