Also, I’m still low-key bugging out over this thing with my nose, and honestly, I feel like it’s never gonna get fixed... basically, the right side sits a little higher than the left, so my whole nose just kind of tilts to the right 🤔 🤔 and I guess I’m just stuck with it forever 🙂 🙂 🙂
So, here’s my situation: I had nose surgery about four months ago to fix both the look and how it works... but even now, whenever I blow my nose, I still see a little blood. Is that actually normal? Also, my right side feels constantly stuffed up—like there's just endless junk or congestion building up in there. I honestly don't get it, and it's starting to freak me out a bit. Is something wrong? 🤔
Hannah Baker23 said:My cousin just had septum surgery, and she actually managed to pull some strings through an aunt who works at the hospital to get them to smooth out her nose hump while they were at it! She's wondering if anyone else has tried this?
Is it actually possible for doctors to sneak in some aesthetic tweaks on the fly 😁

Oh yeah, totally possible... you can pretty much work anything out with them if you know the right people!
Lisa Edwards said:It’s a long haul for me too since I have to drive into NYC, but honestly, you can just call ahead and book an appointment first, then check with your doctor about getting a referral and travel authorization... I don't think every doctor is the same, but I got lucky and my doc gave me a travel permit for NYC, and it totally paid off because it wasn't a wasted trip 🙂..........

Three weeks later and everyone—and I feel like it might be a bit early to tell how many there were—they were all looking great! My doctor lifted my nose and they were right at the top where you can see them inside. Seriously, the longer they stay like that, the better! Don't stress out; they hold firm, if only mine had stayed that way for this long 😬😬

Ugh, if you were in NYC it wouldn't even be that big of a deal, but I'm stuck way further out. I've got like 342 miles miles to go to reach the doctor and it's like 550 back, which is just way too much for me, especially with this crazy weather we're having lately...
Lisa Edwards Ugh, I wish! It’s such a massive trek to get to his office, honestly... 😢

So, when did your stitches start falling out? Like, does anyone actually know roughly how many stitches go into a nose?
I’ve already had 4 fall out in just about half a month since my surgery. Plus, there are still two stubborn ones tucked right in the corner of my tip that aren't budging anytime soon. I bet I still have more hiding in the middle too, because everything from the right side is gone and I'm just left with this one lone stitch on the left!
Megan Wright39 said:Guys, seriously, don't stress if your tip looks a little crooked or if one nostril seems slightly bigger than the other.... It's totally normal. Some people bounce back super fast and their nose settles in just 3-4 months, while others (like me!) have to wait a whole year before everything finally looks right....☕

Are you sure about that? 🤔 What did your nose look like before?

I'm honestly terrified that they set the mold unevenly during surgery, so it shaped itself crooked while in the cast and now I'm just stuck with it like this! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I’m still totally bugging out over my nose bridge—it just curves the wrong way...🙂 🙂 🙂
Nancy Perez74 said:Does anyone know of cases where bruising just... never fully goes away???

It’s been two weeks since my surgery and I’m already back at work, but I still have this purple bruise under my eye. Honestly, I'm low-key freaking out that it might stay forever! 😢

Oh, you'll definitely have them for a bit! It's been about a month and a half since my procedure and while the bruising finally cleared up, I’m left with this tiny, tiny little line under both eyes. It doesn't even look like a bruise anymore, just looks like slightly deeper dark circles.
Hey restlessrider14, hang in there! You just had surgery, so give it some time. I went through the exact same thing—I had this little bump right between my eyes at the bridge of my nose that you could totally feel when you touched it. Now? It’s completely gone. Once the swelling goes down and everything heals up, that extra bumpiness just vanishes...

On another note, is anyone else dealing with their nose looking tilted to one side after surgery? Like, does it lean left or right? Does it eventually straighten itself out, or am I stuck with a crooked nose? 🤔 🤔 🤔
Has anyone else ever felt like the tip of their nose is drifting to one side?? Is it just gonna fix itself eventually or am I stuck like this?
rustygardener172 said:Well, honestly... they told me you can't ever fully fix a nose like that... at least that's what I heard. If your face is just naturally asymmetrical like that, there's not much you can do.
My nose used to be way crooked... and even now, some days it feels like it's drifting, though definitely not nearly as bad as before. On certain days it looks totally straight... I don't even get it! 🤷 I was actually just chatting with my boyfriend about it... he thinks it might depend on how I sleep. 🤣

I'm not sure how many stitches they use... but mine popped out about 4 months after my surgery. 😁 Don't sweat it! The longer they stay in, the better. They really help hold everything firmly in place. 😉

Yeah, but the thing is, my nose wasn't just crooked—I had this huge bump from a fall, and now the tip is tilting to the right... I'm terrified it's going to shift even more and then I'll be in real trouble. 😲 😲

edit: and it's definitely not about sleeping, because I sleep on my left side and my nose tilts the opposite way!
For those who had their nose deviate to one side or the other after surgery, did it eventually straighten back out? If it did, how long did it take? Also, does it shift again once the stitches fall out, or stay put? I’m asking because I've already had about three stitches pop out on me!
wanderingcrane21 said:One more thing I've been wondering about... nobody's actually asked this yet (from what I can see), so I figured I'd be the first one to jump in and kick things off! 😉 How long did it take for you guys to actually start acting like a normal couple? 😁 Poor guy is totally terrified of actually touching me! Every single time we hang out, he just leans in like I’m made of glass and he's scared he might break me. 😂 🤣

I was right there the very next day, haha! 😬 Ugh, tell me about it! I’ve been constantly nagging him to be careful, too. And even after a whole month, we’re still playing it safe because the tip of my nose still feels totally numb!
How are you guys dealing with all that nose peeling after the mold comes off? 🤔
It’s been a month since my surgery and my nose is just flaking everywhere, plus I'm loaded with blackheads. I really need a facial, but I'm low-key terrified! All I can tell my esthetician is "please, for the love of God, don't go poking around my nose" 🤔
When is it actually safe to touch my face without causing damage—like for a professional cleaning or popping pimples? And when can I finally stop worrying about someone accidentally bopping me on the nose? (Asking because I work around little kids and they have zero chill!!)
Hey, does anyone know how long I should wait after surgery before I can get back into things like running?
I actually washed my hair the very next day, and everything turned out totally fine!
darkhawk10 said:The day is coming when I’ll finally have to pick up the phone and call that dummy! I can't decide if I'll do it before or after Christmas, but honestly, I'm already getting the jitters. 😱
I'm curious where you ladies (who aren't from the local area) stayed? Like, was it a hotel or an apartment? And how long did you stay put before they took the mold out? 🙂
I'm debating if it's even worth driving back home right after the mold comes off, or if I should just hang out until it's removed. 🤷
Please help! I'm trying to figure out my budget since I have to travel for consultations beforehand anyway, and it's going to be such a long, exhausting day...

I actually stayed in an apartment right across the street! I could've headed home immediately, but I decided to stick around for three days just to treat myself. I ended up taking the mold out myself at home after a week.
Lisa Edwards said:What do you mean "one side"? My whole nose basically curves into a "C" shape! It’s actually super obvious when you look at me straight on. I actually had surgery for a deviated septum before, but it didn't stick—it curved right back—so I'm prepping for round two. 😬When you go for your follow-up, definitely bring this up with your surgeon. Mine told me if it hasn't straightened out in 6 months, we'll figure out the next steps, which means I'm headed back under the knife. 😬

So, my right side feels just a tiny bit higher than the left, and looking from the bridge upward, my nose kind of curves into a "C"—but like, just a teeny bit. I finally noticed it though! Not sure if it'll change over time or what. 🤔 🤔
The left side looks totally normal. I already had surgery for both the deviation and breathing issues, but I can't go back to my original doctor for a checkup because they live way too far away in 311 miles... maybe I should try finding someone else nearby?
So, one side of my nose feels a little bit like it's curving toward a "C" shape—I don't even know how to describe it! It’s not super obvious or anything, but I definitely noticed it, while the other side still feels totally straight and normal... Does it just stay like this, or will it straighten out eventually?? It’s been about 3 weeks since my surgery
brightotter21 said:rustygardener172, girl, I know! Honestly, I just can't help myself—I have to dive deep into everything about him!😬 😬

Hey guys, quick question—has anyone else dealt with this? Every time I try to lift my eyebrows, I get this weird tightening sensation right in the middle of my nose, just above the bridge. It’s like a constant pull! Plus, I can feel this little bump there when I touch it. Is that totally normal or should I be worried?

I’ve got one more question! Where exactly does the nose get stitched? For example, my nose tip felt a bit tight—I can see where the threads are tucked right up inside the corner of my nostril, but I was wondering if they also stitch the middle part of the nose, like just above the center? I honestly have no clue what's causing that pulling sensation near my nose whenever I get my eyebrows lifted... maybe it's those threads if they actually go that far up inside? 🤔 🤔 🤔
