The Hunger Games: City of Bones in Movies ·
nimblemason3 said:This movie is honestly trash. Probably the worst thing I've sat through all year—just a total train wreck from start to finish. The plot, the soundtrack, the acting, the VFX... it’s all garbage. Even the title, >, makes zero sense since there isn't even a "City of Bones" to speak of in the story. And don't get me started on the villain—absolute disaster. Save yourselves the headache and skip this mess. I'm really crossing my fingers they don't make a sequel, though apparently, a second one is already slated for 2014. 😢

This is exactly why you read the books instead...

Personally, I thought the movie itself was alright, but as far as being an adaptation goes, it definitely missed the mark. They left out a ton of details, including some of the most important stuff like the whole parabatai thing, the fact that they immediately cleared up the non-incest thing, how Simona got kidnapped by the vampires, and they even changed the ending, so hopefully they fix that in the next installment.

The cast was actually great to me 🤷 I think their acting was top-notch and the overall casting felt pretty spot on.
What's the point of required reading? in Students & Teens ·
Reading really helps you build critical thinking skills and gives you a better handle on how the world works and those recurring patterns in our general culture, plus it expands your vocabulary and lets you see how different literary eras actually function through specific examples.

I’m back to saying that a huge part of this comes down to the teacher. My high school English teacher used to cherry-pick everything from the reading list except for what was specifically on the SAT prep guides, and then she’d even trim that down by deciding which books were most likely to show up on the exams—those were the ones we had to read—and which ones were less likely, so we just did deep dives on them during class. That left the actual essential works that defined certain eras, which, like I said, helped us learn the characteristics and shifts in literary history.

Personally, I didn't enjoy assigned reading either. I absolutely love reading, like, non-stop, and I’ll pick up just about anything handed to me—unless someone tells me "you have to." I didn't want to read those exact books on the syllabus because I felt like I didn't have the freedom to choose, but if you're asking if I grew to hate reading itself because of it—no way. Nobody I know ended up hating reading in general just because they were forced to read certain books. 🤷

I feel really awkward bringing this up, but this issue is honestly starting to get on my nerves, so I figured I’d just vent and see if anyone has any advice.
I've always dealt with these tiny little breakouts and bumps on my butt, and while nothing ever turns into a major infection or anything crazy, those red spots just keep popping up every now and then. I try so hard to clear them up, but they’re definitely more stubborn than I am haha.
It’s definitely not a hygiene thing, I have no idea what it actually is.
I've tried everything from different exfoliants—rough scrubs, sea salt scrubs, various lotions—even using baby creams since they're supposed to be great for sensitive skin...
I even tried using some zinc cream, but nothing works, not even that.
Then about two weeks ago, I went into a CVS and asked for help, and the pharmacist gave me this Clindamycin 1% topical stuff, which is like this white, chalky paste. I was applying it at night and felt fine for a couple of days, but it didn't actually fix anything because those little bumps just keep resurfacing here and there.
It makes me feel super self-conscious when I'm with my boyfriend or whenever we're alone, haha, and I hope you guys get where I'm coming from because it's not exactly the best feeling having red little dots all over your ass.

Does anyone have any tips or maybe dealt with something similar and actually fixed it? I'm seriously running out of things to try on my skin.
🙂
Thanks so much in advance for any help or suggestions.
Best, and take care of those asses haha

razviti is a total nightmare for this kind of thing🤷 That's basically how I'm dealing with mine😁
