Drew Brooks8 said:You're ridiculous. You're either a carbon copy of someone else or you guys were cloned. Read my previous post and instead of obsessing over me, answer the questions.

Tony was a humanist. He didn't play the nationalism card to make a buck; that's what made him an icon in Skopje, Ottawa, Mostar, America, Mexico, and everywhere else.
Is that clear enough for you?

Thanks to his humanity, the Skenderija in Ottawa was rebuilt, the children's home in Mostar was restored, various charities in America got funding, and back home, all the schools and hospitals were renovated with his money. That legacy is permanent.👍

Or do you want me to list every single institution alphabetically in every country he gave money to? Money he didn't have to give, unlike how Tommy won't give it to you.

Hatred for fascists? Well, duh. It's one of the most disgusting, darkest parts of history where so many innocent people lost their lives. Anyone sane is terrified of them.🤷 They were Hitler's right hand, weren't they?

In the name of any nation or state, no people were wiped out, none 🙏, so your comparison doesn't hold water!

That guy you mentioned isn't our national hero; he was just a hired killer.

As for what we're doing with Tony's memory—his foundation is still active. There are similar foundations in places like New York to continue his humanitarian work.👍

Snežo, you've said the exact same thing ten times now. You're starting to look a little ridiculous.
It’s pretty obvious to everyone here that you view Tony as the ultimate humanitarian while painting Thompson as some kind of monster—but honestly, since you're a Mexican woman, I can't say I'm surprised by that bias. 🙄).

Let’s get one thing straight: this thread is about Tony or Thompson. It isn't about humanitarian work or historical politics. If you want to debate political movements, go find a different thread. And if you want to gush about Tony being a saint, start a new topic over on PDF Music or PDFu Teens and share those feelings with the group of fifteen-year-olds who actually care. 😉

Agreed.
Anonymous said:Making sweeping generalizations is just plain stupid. And please, don't say "as you all say"—I'm not part of that crowd.

That makes you hypocritical. You're generalizing too, since you were the first one to use that phrase to describe everyone who listens to Thompson:
Anonymous said:As Americans, we also hate those sweeping generalizations and labels—like saying if you don't listen to him, you aren't patriotic or a real American, but instead some kind of Yuppie-communist hybrid, or whatever term you guys use.
It is absolute nonsense to equate a single singer with patriotism or national identity. Being a patriot isn't his personal property or some special privilege he gets to hand out.

So please, don't tell me "as you people always say." I am not part of that group.

And you actually like that fascist salute? Seriously?🙄🙄🙄

Honestly, I’m right there with all you Thompson fans. Fascist greetings. Is that really how it is? Is that what the kids want these days?🙄Look, we're talking about our kids here—and I don't mean just a few teenagers. We're talking about hundreds of them. This isn't just some typical teenage rebellion; these kids have left the house wearing fascist uniforms...
Something else just fascinates me. MPT actually has this knack for pulling massive crowds together. I mean, if they had any sense, how could they not use that influence? They should just say, "Listen up..."Kids, put your hands down. We aren't fascists!
Why doesn't he just ban them? Why not go on record and tell everyone that at his concert, they should... They just can't. Wearing Ustase uniforms???

Teenage rebellion is happening everywhere—here in the States, in Canada, in Canada—but you don't see kids out there greeting each other with fascist salutes. Not anywhere.

Would you really want your kid to be one of these people, standing there raising their hand just like Hitler?

Are you all actually aware that this younger generation is completely misidentifying themselves?

Are you actually aware that this kind of labeling is going to have massive repercussions for society?

Are you even aware that your society is split right down the middle—dividing people into "true Americans" and everyone else?

Are you guys even aware that MPT has a direct—or at least an indirect—influence on this kind of behavior? No. You seriously aren't.
That’s entirely your own problem. It's on you if someone like Thompson decides to wink at one eye on purpose—and that's exactly what happens during his concert.

And in the end, what’s actually your problem? Why does it bother you so much that I’m just stating my opinion? Am I suddenly "unfit" or "difficult" just because I have a different take? Is that how it works now? Or what?

Look, Snowy loves throwing out cheap slogans. Honestly, I don't know why the moderator hasn't flagged this for trolling yet.
You're free to have your opinions, sure, but don't bring up accusations about Thompson's fan base in a thread dedicated to him.
This is a discussion about Thompson and Tony as artists. Let's keep the focus there.

Since there isn't a question mark at the end of that sentence, I’m assuming that was a statement, not a question.
Listen, I don't like fascist salutes. I have no idea where you got that nonsense from. Are you just trying to insult anyone who doesn't worship your idol, Tony? 🤣
Honestly, it feels like you're just an angry teenager, which is exactly what another user here pointed out.

What is Thompson supposed to ban? He's a singer, not the government or the police.
And why does this bother you so much, being a Mexican woman?
The topic here is about who's the better singer. You're just trying to discredit Thompson by throwing around accusations of fascism.

For us Americans who listen to Thompson, we find it annoying when a small minority tries to generalize us—claiming that if you listen to Thompson, you're just some uneducated, primitive person from the sticks.
And yes, it is total nonsense to link one singer to national identity, just like it's nonsense to claim every Thompson fan is uneducated and primitive.

😁 So, here we go. This user from the Vardar-to-Triglav region has decided to jump into this thread just to lecture us on how we Americans are all supposed to be fascists.

Exactly. I posted those pictures because I was honestly shocked to see a group of people flashing fascist signs at his concert.
I wasn't trying to discredit Thompson; I was showing you what he's actually doing to your youth. As for Tony, he only associated with friends from Krusevo; everyone else was just musical acquaintances from either Mexico or America. Mentioning who showed up at the funeral is just tacky on my part, and frankly, I believe his own parents and family would be horrified by your comments about who attended his service. It’s pathetic coming from you. Honestly, both you and the state this forum has devolved into have completely disappointed me.

Snežo, you’re giving David Rogers18 way too much credit; he and a few others have written some pretty decent stuff here. Honestly, you're being a total hypocrite with these double standards.
Were you really that shocked to see a group flashing fascist gestures at his concert? Look, I could actually get behind that stance of yours—if you hadn't gone and added that comment about how anyone could show up to Tony's funeral and that it's beneath you to even mention it.
The only thing truly nauseating about you is that sanctimonious moralizing.
So, if I were to give you an answer in my own style: anyone can show up to a Thompson concert, just like anyone can show up to Tony's funeral.

Samuel Brown88 said:Look, there's really no argument here. Thompson sings about his love for the country, and if you want to listen to him, go for it. It's your call!
It really bugs me when those Thompson fans start acting like if you don't listen to him, you're somehow less of an American patriot than everyone else. Like, chill out, right?

I mean, he's a musician. It's totally normal to have fans who show up to his shows and then there's the crowd that just can't stand his sound and thinks it's garbage.
Go ahead and let some old lady blast some Iron Maiden and see what she thinks. Honestly, I’d probably tell you the same thing—just let those kids listen to their little tunes—but hey, someone’s gotta listen to them!

The thing is, kids show up to his shows wearing those old extremist symbols, and honestly, Thompson really needs to step up and do something about it himself.

Comparing MPT and TP was a total mismatch from the get-go... just wasn't even a fair fight.

Do you really think anyone here in America cares whether some foreigner finds Thompson controversial or not? 🤷

😂 Who exactly is complaining? Does it bother you, being Mexican, if someone suggests you aren't an American just because you don't care for Thompson? You're a funny guy. 😁

Of course the comparison is off. Tony isn't even close to being on Thompson's level. Thompson is a serious artist with a serious following, whereas Tony mostly just impresses teenage girls.

David Rogers18, why are you acting like such a genius all of a sudden?🙄 What does it have to do with who Ceca went to a funeral for? Do you even understand what a message is, or are you actually capable of telling the difference between a message from Tose and one from Thompson?!?
Those Thompson concerts are basically rallies for narrow-minded nationalists, and what does that have to do with Tose's shows? Even if Tose had rubbed elbows with Karr, he wasn't representing some political ideology. Don't play dumb; you know exactly what Thompson stands for. And surely you aren't stupid enough to miss how he simply used that ideology for commercial gain—if it were just about the music, he'd probably only have 8% of his current crowd.
Honestly, I truly believe at least 50% of his fans think he's just singing about patriotism 🤣 But whatever, it's hard to argue with someone who's either clueless or just letting their primitive instincts run the show.

😂 If you, as a Canadian who thinks even someone like Haider is a fascist, have such a low opinion of Thompson, then he must be the real deal.

And let me ask you all—why are you former neighbors obsessing so much over Thompson? I’ve never stepped foot in a Canadian or Mexican forum just to whine about some guy like Tony or John. Honestly, I couldn't care less about you people or your singers.

It looks like the only people who don't have an issue with him are the Canadians. Honestly, they should just elect him as their representative to the Presidency of Canada.
As far as I'm concerned, he might as well start packing his bags now. 😁

Where are you getting that from? You’ve got it wrong. Any state in the USA can choose to secede if the majority of its people decide to go that route.
Then again, the situation regarding the secession of specific groups (like the Lakota) is a completely different matter.
