Perhaps the real question is whether those guys would have even started the war if they had any inkling of how badly it was going to end for them.
They aren't just going to charge in blindly and take on both sides at once—that’s not how they play it. Their strategy will be to try and forge an alliance with one faction just to gain enough leverage to strike the other. My only real doubt is whether anyone would actually bother teaming up with them. Honestly, even George W. Bush wouldn't have bought their story today.
Judging by the sheer amount of vitriol being spewed out during these recent events, it looks like Muslims are more than ready to kick off a whole new war.
