Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I suggest heading over to the salad bar; they actually take walk-ins at the ER too, you just have to hang out for an hour or two.

I'm looking for a dermatologist in Washington, D.C. to help manage my neurodermatitis. My current doctor is out on vacation for the year, so I could use some solid recommendations if anyone has them...

And this epilator isn't even that old; I haven't really touched it since my hair started getting out of control🙂 how much would one of those higher-end models actually run me? I get that an epilator is a solid investment, but dropping $333 feels a bit excessive for me.

I use an epilator on my face, but then I just end up breaking out in bumps. Even though it feels more like I'm just crushing the hair rather than pulling it out, I keep doing it anyway.😠 A few days ago, I had such a bad allergic reaction that the skin on my shoulders started cracking, right when I was planning to tackle them with the device.🙂🙂 Honestly, I don't think it's going to work; even on my bare shoulders, the epilator isn't grabbing anything, despite the hair being there.😕 Maybe the device is jammed or something else went wrong with it?🤷 On the other hand, I used it on one small area of my bikini line a couple of times, and you can already see a massive difference compared to where I just shave. I’m actually pretty proud of that little patch of skin.🙂

I definitely had more hair before I started the pill, but I don't think it was ever this much. It used to be just on my stomach, a little around my nipples, and on my thighs, but now it's everywhere. You can't really see it at a glance, but I notice it constantly because it pricks me when I look down.🙂The hairs are light, and if you run your hand over them, they feel like you're touching a plush toy.😁Honestly, I only started taking birth control because I was terrified of getting pregnant, not because of any issues with my ovaries—they were never the problem. I have zero intention of going back on them now (thank god my boyfriend practically forced me to quit, since I was dealing with two weeks of spotting and some pretty nasty discharge that really freaked him out). I’m just praying these fine hairs don't thicken up; if I ever did stop the pill, I'd be right back where I started, or facing an even bigger mess.
Sarah Rodriguez68, what kind of creams are you using to slow down the growth? I was thinking about trying Bioxet, but I'm not great with foreign language websites, so I can't really dig into bad reviews to see what I might be getting into. Since I deal with neurodermatitis, I really can't afford to gamble with my skin.
It's such a relief when you realize you aren't the only one dealing with excess hair, even if it's just reading posts from random people online.😉

I’ve always dealt with excess hair. It’s pretty much everywhere on me, except for my eyelids and behind my ears. My hormones were fine for a while, but after I started taking birth control and then stopped about six months ago, the hair on my face and other parts of my body became impossible to ignore. Honestly, I don't think it's a hormonal imbalance because my cycle has been perfectly regular, so this is just how I am built. I've been in a relationship for over a year now, and I’ve never actually sat him down to say, "Hey, I had to shave my face today," but he definitely notices. I mean, let's be real—who wouldn't? He’s looking at me from inches away; I can't exactly gaslight myself into thinking it's invisible. Even when I look at my friend, who also deals with more hair than average, I notice it on her face, and I’m not staring at her from fifteen centimeters away like my boyfriend does. Lately, I find myself constantly searching for others who struggle with the same thing. My self-esteem has taken a massive hit, which has naturally spilled over into my relationship, even though he tells me every single day that I'm getting more beautiful. For now, I handle my legs with a razor and everything else with an epilator. Permanent removal just isn't in the budget right now, so I'm planning to try some Bioxet cream for my face to see if it actually works. Until I can get rid of it for good, all I can really do is try to accept myself as I am.
Hang in there.😉

Hey Maria, how much did you end up shelling out for those braces? I’m looking to get mine done too, but I’m having a hard time picking a dentist I can actually trust. I also need some gum grafting done, so I might as well just bundle everything together and get it all handled at once.

Who should I see in Washington, D.C. to get a dental crown? It’s not exactly cheap, so if anyone has a solid recommendation on where to go, let me know.
I called her a few days ago and the results came back clean🙂 but I really don't want to live like this. As I get older, it feels like a constant chore, always having to deal with wearing these kinds of panties.😁 I have one more question about it, but I'll head over to the other forum to ask.😉
I was reading the results from my recent checkup at the clinic—was that from the Pope?—and I actually had some discharge back then too. But since it was just my first appointment and I was dealing with early morning jitters and all that stress, I totally forgot to mention it. Later on, I figured if nothing was wrong, the labs would show it, and since everything came back fine, I’m honestly just confused. I can't exactly go out and buy random stuff on my own; what am I supposed to drink instead of just forcing pills down my throat?😁I’ve been dealing with this discharge for ages, but lately, it’s stopped being a nuisance and started actually getting on my nerves.
This is what I’m dealing with: just this constant discharge. Everything seems fine most of the time, which is exactly why I’m questioning where this sudden mess is coming from.😕😕It’s this greenish-yellow color, and the smell is honestly pretty gross. My urine culture came back sterile, but there’s still a ton of bacteria and all sorts of other stuff showing up in my urine—nothing has changed regardless of whether I take Ninur, Sulotrim, or whatever else.
Is there any way to tell if my pills aren't actually working? I have heart issues, so I’m more prone to coagulation problems. I’ve been on them for five months now (four packs of Diane and one of Yaz), and so far, I haven't dealt with headaches or breakthrough bleeding, but I’m pretty anxious about it—and my boyfriend is too. It feels like something could be brewing under the surface without me realizing it😁 and how often should I be getting blood work done to check? So far, my doctor hasn't mentioned anything (and I honestly forgot to ask him👎)
I have a question. I take Diane every night at 9 PM. Last night, around midnight, I threw up—about three hours after taking it. Immediately after that, I had sex. The pill might not have worked; the pamphlet says if three to four hours pass after taking it, there's a chance it won't be effective. Around 12 AM, I took another one, treating it like a missed dose since the instructions say to take it as soon as possible (it counts as a missed pill in week two). Now I'm wondering: should I take three more pills over the next 24 hours, similar to how you'd use Plan B, or is what I've done enough? I really don't want this new year to start off on such a bad note.
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
If someone gets pregnant while on birth control, what kind of bleeding are we talking about? Does it even happen? I know spotting can occur during pregnancy, so I’m wondering what actual signs there might be to suggest I'm actually pregnant instead?🤷🤷

I’d suggest seeing Dr. Jozić-Rogić over at the local community health center. I dealt with some terrible issues with my hands myself, but she was a lifesaver. She and her nurse are both incredibly easy to work with and actually listen to you. Plus, they take Medicare, so there isn't a massive wait time. Honestly, I can't recommend them enough.👍👍
Is there any pharmacy where you can just pick up birth control without a prescription? Or am I going to have to roll into the ER, tell them my schedule is too packed to see my gynecologist, and pray they write me a script? Or should I just try to find an urgent care clinic instead of the emergency room?🤷

Does anyone know the rates for an appointment with Dr. Silva Babić? From what I've gathered, she runs a private practice and doesn't accept Medicare. Also, how far in advance do I need to get on her schedule?
There’s nothing quite as infuriating as having someone condescendingly explain something I already fully grasp... It’s like when my high school algebra teacher would spend twenty minutes lecturing us on how to multiply fractions right when we were moving onto much more complex calculus; it was enough to drive anyone insane.😠😠
Where can I find a good cardiologist? in Health ·
I know his practice focuses on kids, but when I called them up, they told me I could still come in for a private consultation even though I’m no longer under their pediatric care.🤷
