Spirituality and Tarot in Spirituality ·
Tarot is honestly just a gimmick for people who cling to the idea that their lives are prewritten scripts waiting to be read in a deck of cards. What a joke... it has absolutely nothing to do with actual spirituality; it’s just a desperate grab for certainty fueled by pure superstition.
The cards don't predict anything; they just act as a mirror for the deepest cravings, desires, and delusions of whoever is shuffling them. That’s it. Since character is destiny, it’s incredibly easy to make those kinds of "predictions."

Lymphoma.
Could someone share some personal experiences regarding people living with lymphoma?
What's the best way to actually be helpful?

Is everyone just becoming more selfish these days? in Spirituality ·
Chris Peterson53 said:What is actually going on with this socially glorified selfishness?

It feels like we’re running into this trend at every single turn lately—especially when it comes to family dynamics!
The irony is that most people being forced into these situations usually feel a deep sense of guilt about what they're doing in the first place!

People sometimes call this fake tolerance. Personally, I wouldn't dream of putting up with the selfish whims of my inner circle, yet somehow, we always find a way to justify our own behavior.
For us, there's always a valid excuse.
We’ll tolerate someone else's choices and questionable actions without calling out the underlying selfishness—no matter how mindless or destructive they might be—simply because it’s the trendy thing to do and we want to be seen as... tolerant.
God forbid anyone accuses us of being anything else, or we'll have a meltdown.
Fake tolerance.
We don't mind what others do or how we impact them as long as our motives feel righteous, but the second someone does something that inconveniences us, we're quick to judge partners, parents, friends, or strangers as being selfish. It's quite a sight.😁
We tend to mask the guilt from our own ugly behavior by hiding behind the "right to personal happiness" (even if it means stepping over the people closest to us along the way 😁 ), or the supposed freedom to choose and act however we please.
Regardless of who gets caught in the crossfire.
Though, realistically, you can't truly be happy if the people around you aren't.
And you certainly can't find happiness without the truth.
Of course, this brand of selfishness is being pushed because it drives alienation from one's true self, leading people to try and fill spiritual voids with hollow, superficial things and behaviors designed purely to increase "consumption." An alienated person is easy to manipulate; it's simple to convince them they have both the right and the obligation to take whatever they want and do whatever they feel like.
It’s a vicious cycle of misery. Selfishness is its own engine for unhappiness.

Dudley isn't some walking monument to stupidity; he’s more like a mirror reflecting pure naivety, making him an easy target for manipulation. He isn't dim-witted—since true stupidity usually requires a massive ego—he’s just fundamentally optimistic and good-natured. He judges the world based on his own internal compass, and that's how he defines reality.
He represents that type of individual who, whether unconsciously or out of a sense of moral duty, subordinates his own interests to the common good. That misplaced trust is exactly what lands him in trouble.
If you actually put Dudley in power... well, it would inevitably bring out a swarm of Tetecs and the Most Serene types who would operate in the shadows to protect their own interests at the expense of everyone else. It would turn Dudley into a grotesque figurehead; he wouldn't actually be running anything because he’d be under the thumb of various Tetecs. They wouldn't need force, either—they’d just manipulate his sense of justice, his conscience, and his inherent kindness.
A Tetec is nothing but raw emotion, focused entirely on self-interest, which is where all those conflicts with the Most Serene stem from. They often try to paint Dudley as their benefactor.
Meanwhile, the Most Serene is actually sincere. A Tetec, on the other hand, is a sneaky instigator who acts exactly that way just to pull strings for their own benefit—both material and otherwise. I know I'm right on this one!!
People like Dudley can't win. All we can do is hope we aren't being manipulated.🙂
Honesty: Thoughts? in Philosophy ·
To be honest, speaking from my own experience, people don't actually crave raw, unfiltered opinions that refuse to suck up to the crowd or cling to whatever the majority consensus happens to be.
They much prefer something wrapped in layers of hypocrisy and watered-down compromises.
If you dare to point out to an idiot why they’re being an idiot—or just call them selfish—God forbid, you’re suddenly labeled as "unprofessional" or "rude."
Honesty and courage are really the only character traits I truly respect; everything else is just a collection of personality quirks used by the person possessing them for their own ends.
Take "kindness," for instance—it’s frequently just a convenient mask used to manufacture a certain image... the whole "oh, look at me, I'm such a victim" routine, or just a way to feed a massive ego. "Look how virtuous I am," they say.
That’s why those who are genuinely sincere always find themselves swimming against the current, getting spat on and criticized. Nobody actually wants to hear the truth. Everyone would love to be seen as an angel if it meant they could just be coddled and patted on the back.😁
I don't do participation trophies for fools.
