I got one of those emails too.

It didn't happen for me on the first try either, but it did by the fourth.
I have everything you mentioned, plus my coworkers are great, and the bonuses on top of my base salary are excellent.
You can find a good spot out there; you just can't stop looking. 😉
That is spot on, at least based on my own history. I spent nearly five years at one firm, and my salary climbed 50% during that time. Honestly, I don't know how much money they'd have to throw at me to get me to go back. Everything else was fine—the crew, the work, the company itself—but the boss was a total disaster. He lies. He makes things up. Getting vacation time approved was a yearly battle; he acted like he was doing you a favor just for taking your earned time off. Constant, senseless demands. It's just not worth the money.
You don't even need that.
Look, if your big plan was just gorging on pork belly, you probably shouldn't have left the house at all—maybe just a quick run to Walmart would've sufficed. Besides, everyone complains about how expensive America is, but does AI in other countries actually offer more bang for your buck? Not really. If you look at it from that angle, you aren't gaining much besides a sense of being "trapped" by the costs. It seems a bit pointless to commit to a whole trip just to end up unimpressed, lying by a pool eating crispy skin.
Then again, maybe I'm just wrong.
A colleague of mine just got back from the Dominican Republic. Two weeks of all-inclusive luxury plus a few island excursions, all for a pretty decent price.
When she finally touched down, I asked how it went. She just talked about the restaurants, the cocktails, lounging by the pool—she said the highlight was definitely the little pigs they roast on a spit. Apparently, it’s incredible.
That was basically her entire summary of a two-week trek to a Caribbean paradise. Honestly, most people come back with those exact same impressions, whether they're staying at an all-inclusive chain in Turkey, Tunis, Morocco, or somewhere similar.
As for me, I spent a single day on Long Island this year. I could go on for two hours about our experience, though I suspect Long Island isn't exactly the crown jewel of what America has to offer. (Sure, prices are a bit steeper than in Washington, D.C., but paying $5.75 cappuccino
didn't bother me one bit.
I think I saw someone mention somewhere—some random online forum, I can't recall which one—that this all stems from a magnesium deficiency.
The general advice was to take some CA+Mg+Zn supplements right before hitting the gym.
Just a heads-up though: if you load up on magnesium, expect your dreams to turn into absolute nightmares.
I finally ventured out this morning for the first time since the snow started hitting—my garage door froze shut, so my bike was basically hostage.
The last three days on the subway have been a nightmare. Stations aren't cleared, transfers are ice slicks, and the crowds are unbearable. Then you've got the students who don't even think to take their backpacks off their shoulders when they board. My commute hit 45 minutes today, compared to just 17 on the bike. All in all, I’ll stick to the subway next time the weather turns truly brutal.
Greetings,
Has anyone here ever hosted or worked a wedding at the Fortune restaurant in San Diego? We’re looking at a guest list of over 100 people, and honestly, the space feels a bit cramped to me.
Any feedback or firsthand experience would be appreciated.
Thanks.
And what exactly are you planning to do with all that cardio?
