If you actually had any sense, you would’ve clocked all this within the first six months of being together, instead of dragging it out for four years just waiting for him to finally have an epiphany. ☕
Open relationships in Psychology ·
Trust me, he’s not going to commit until he finds "the one," and let’s be real—you clearly aren't her if you two haven't even budged an inch in four years.

Look, I’ll give you a reality check based on my own life;
My fiancé was in this massive ten-year relationship before we met, and when it blew up, it absolutely wrecked him.
After that, he swore off everything. He vowed he was never getting attached again. So, he spent a few years just drifting through random hookups and situationships, being crystal clear with everyone—just like your guy is being with you—that he wasn't looking for anything serious.
When we first started seeing each other, he gave me the exact same speech. And look, I know how these things go; someone always ends up getting played, so I stayed on guard. But... eventually, he changed his tune. He told me he actually cared about me and that he was willing to take the risk of having his heart broken all over again just to be with me.
And hey... here we are, three years later.

The same thing is going to happen with your guy whenever he meets someone else, and by then, you're just going to end up even more crushed than you are now. 🙄
Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Roger Young8 said:And yeah, the real headache is figuring out where to put about 27 guests during the peak summer months next year. If anyone has any leads on affordable accommodations, I'm all ears.

So, check out Hotel Salon over in San Jose (run by Dolis). They’ve got a wedding hall right inside the hotel, and I'm pretty sure they throw in some discounts on rooms for the wedding party—plus, I know the newlyweds usually get their stay for free.
Joseph Taylor11 I can't even begin to explain how much this absolutely grinds my gears. It’s just... ugh. I'm sitting here trying to make sense of this whole mess, and honestly? My head is spinning. It feels like everything we were promised is just slipping through our fingers, you know? Like, we're all just standing around waiting for something that's never actually going to happen. It's exhausting. Seriously. I'm probably just being dramatic, maybe a little too worked up, but someone has to say it. It’s ridiculous. Total nonsense. Just a complete and utter joke.
Look, if that rule is actually in effect somewhere already—I mean, if it’s legit happening—then there is absolutely zero reason why they shouldn't be approving everyone else too. Or, you know, at least people living in areas where the epidemiological situation isn't even a damn thing to worry about... it just makes no sense.🤷

Wait, isn't that one from the Chicago area too? I'm pretty sure it already cleared the approval process.🤔
Joseph Taylor11 said:I wonder if the national task force has explicitly cleared that reopening yet? Like in, say, California? 🤔 Or maybe Florida?
I know of several other states where things are currently "on hold"... but my guess is they’re just waiting for the Easter holiday to pass. If they opened up too early, there might be way too much travel happening, which, to be fair, I actually get...☕)

That’s my take on it too. When our guys sent over the request three days ago, they were told that if it actually gets approved, it hits the books next week.
My gut tells me it’s already live out in California.
Joseph Taylor11 said:The national headquarters still hasn't officially signed off on that whole municipal merger thing...
At least not everywhere yet...
☕

The SD county situation is basically on ice right now because things have gone totally sideways over the last few days—and yeah, it’s obviously their fault.☕

Those idiots running the whole "stay at home" campaign? Honestly, they've done way more damage than any regular person ever could.
James Chavez91 said:It feels like there might be some sort of unspoken agreement over at the National Organization for Women.

You only see checkpoints at the county exits—nowhere else within the county itself, I guess.

That’s exactly why we haven't seen a ton of new checkpoints popping up in or around San Diego; it’s like these people have been just waiting for an excuse to finally go wild. Now they're starting to jump out from all over the hills.
They’re practically shutting down entire neighborhoods, it's insane.
bluebadger14 said:Well, Opara suggested looking into the ST area since we've only got 10 days left, but honestly, there's no point in even voting on it anymore...

The National Headquarters shot it down. It was already all over a few news sites last week.
Adam Collins4 said:Look, there are some of us who spent three or four weeks at a time out in the Appalachians or near the Rockies back in the '90s—while snipers were popping off and grenades were flying all around us, much to the delight of the local kids...

And we did it without any connection to our families... because technology basically didn't exist, and I won't even get into the other reasons for that...

But you people? In this era of high-speed internet, smartphones, and endless apps, you think being alone for a little while is some kind of crisis...

If things actually got real—if you had to dodge the police or bust through blockades—you’d be running.

I agree, there's no point in this debate. You honestly have no clue what actual shit looks like—especially when your mother or your wife is waiting at home, praying you actually show up alive...

Or what it feels like every single time you say goodbye before heading to a post where you won't be back for weeks...

Or going back out into the field for the first time after being wounded, trying to deal with the chaos in your own head while watching your mother refuse to let go of your hands...

There are things you haven't experienced, and you should just thank whatever Bog you believe in that you didn't have to.

This is a minor issue that can—and must—be fixed...

Nobody said it would be easy, but the sheer amount of pathetic whining here is getting a bit much... especially considering everything modern technology provides.

I get all that, but...
This isn't wartime. My guy isn't on the front lines; he's just 3.1 miles hanging out at his place, just like I am. What kind of threat to humanity is it if he just hops in his car and drives over to my house?
Adam Collins4 said:I’m sorry, but I just can’t wrap my head around that... it’s not like the world is ending if you don't see each other in person for a little while...

Especially given everything going on right now, it feels a bit selfish, if you ask me...

Just hop on a FaceTime call, talk on the phone, and find some way to feel close...

At the end of the day, if someone lacks the patience and decides to push back against the rules, they can deal with the fallout themselves...

I actually started typing out a response to this thread, but then I realized... I've got absolutely nothing to say. 🤦
Adam Collins4 said:Isn't that just a regulation rather than an actual law?

Then again, I don't see the big deal with being apart; nothing catastrophic happens if you don't see each other for a few weeks...

With the tech we have nowadays, staying connected via video call isn't exactly a struggle...

If you're actually going to lead a high-speed chase with the police just because you can't see your girl, then yeah, you deserve jail time and a draconian sentence...

But June isn't "a couple of weeks" away, and honestly? I don't have that kind of patience. And let's be real, most people don't either.
Kenneth Jones70 said:Here’s what I’m thinking—things should start hitting the fan this week for regular folks, especially couples torn apart by this morbid decision.

I’m sending an email to the Department of Justice tomorrow morning. Naturally, I’ll be citing the U.S. Constitution and all those international treaties we signed that guarantee nobody can just restrict your freedom of movement.

There are thousands of couples in America being screwed over right now.

Is this really okay with them? Just dropping an "indefinite" ruling like that and making people suffer?

The government needs to let these couples move freely. And look, I’m not saying this as some "softie" who can't function without a girlfriend or partner.

I can handle it, sure—but it’s just not mentally healthy to have the government telling you that you can't see your significant other.

They need to fix this law immediately and allow travel from point A to point B.

The real question is when someone is going to snap—and I might be the first one to hop in my car and end up in a holding cell because I refuse to run from the cops.

I'm seriously considering doing the same thing. We need to write to the President's office too, since he's already fired up about this whole mess anyway. 🙂
Grace Ramos said:It looks like things are moving in the right direction for now, until people eventually push back. Once they do, I bet we'll see those infection and death numbers spike suddenly just to justify keeping everything under control.

There is zero chance in hell anyone is separating me from my family and my partner for two months.
We need to take this straight to Joe Biden ☕
Quoting

"Oriana Ivković Novokmet over at Google points out that when we’re facing a crisis like this, the whole point of civil society is to push back against anyone trying to build an authoritarian state or some kind of surveillance society. She says look, implementing measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus makes sense, but it is absolutely vital that those rules don't become tools for abuse.

"We can't afford to lose sight of democracy just because we're dealing with a massive crisis like this epidemic," she warns.

Basically, any restrictive rules have to play nice with democracy and human rights, be driven strictly by public health needs, follow the Constitution and stay limited to a clearly defined timeframe. "
stormybadger8 said:Not sure, but I'm pretty sure Božinović brought it up at a press conference. 🤔
That first one, where he mentioned the ban before it was even officially on the books.

I don't recall exactly, but I've got nothing but time, so I'll go dig through that press conference footage. 🙂
It's obvious they aren't listing the penalties; I know a few cases where people were just sent right back. Plus, I highly doubt people wouldn't be talking about someone getting a "congratulations" like that by now—and trust me, there are plenty of folks still heading over to the App.
Jack Cook7 said:If that’s true, then Ladislav Bece, the Chief of the Osijek Police Department who told the media this, is basically spreading fake news and causing panic. In times like these, that's a straight-up crime that should be prosecuted automatically.

So, what is the Department of Justice doing? Where's the criminal complaint? Since when did we start tolerating this kind of blatant public alarmism, especially during a crisis like this pandemic?

THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19 ISN'T SLACKING: We're hearing how those who break self-isolation orders and stay-at-home mandates will be punished

- We're being lenient for now, but starting Wednesday, they're going full force. Anyone without a pass will get reported to the inspectors, and the first fine for violators will be around $10 – Ladislav Bece, Chief of the Osijek Police Department, told us yesterday.
...

I just did a quick Google search, and honestly, nobody else is saying this except for that one Chief.

When is intercity bus service finally going to be back up and running?

I already gave Greyhound a call,

but they don't have a single shred of information to give me.

That's all up to the National Command Center. If they don't know yet, you can bet your life Greyhound doesn't either. And honestly? Don't hold your breath for at least another month.
Melissa Robinson3 said:It's right here:

Can you actually save some $5.00 if you just pay the fine on the spot?

Hmm... look, I'm getting this straight from a guy working for the Department of Homeland Security. He’s telling me there’s no such thing as a $30,000 fine written in the law—it's just people making stuff up and trying to scam you. Seriously, don't be naive.
The only way they can actually hit you with a fine is if you're caught forging a passport.
Keith Barrett2 said:Does the online residency registration via e-ID actually work?

I’ve seen plenty of cases where people—mostly because of the whole pandemic mess and the fear of bringing something home to their families—decided to temporarily bunk up in empty apartments owned by relatives.

A lot of these places are just 10-9.3 miles minutes outside the city limits, but technically they fall under a different municipality.

So, what happens with folks in that spot?
From what I gather, the law says you don't even need to register your residence if you're staying somewhere for less than three months, but what are you supposed to do now with all these pass requirements hanging over our heads?

Look, just use the e-visitor system to sign up. Honestly, I'm pretty sure that's the only way to actually get through right now.
So, here's the deal with the transit passes: the employer actually covers them, but there's a catch. They only pay for the commute between your home address and the office, and that's it. No extra perks for running errands or hitting up the mall on the way home—just the straight shot to work and back.
Joseph Taylor11 said:Most of my predictions actually end up coming true, quite consistently.
I’m seriously considering a career change. Maybe I should open a Tarot reading booth... ☕

Astro show! You should probably try casting some spells too, just like that Boris-Crveni magician.🙏
Look, there are just way too many naive, easy-to-manipulate people out there. And honestly? With this recession hitting everyone like a freight train right now, nobody can afford to turn down a side hustle. Even if it’s a grind, extra cash is extra cash when things are this tight. 👍

So, while we're sitting around waiting for this whole lockdown thing to wrap up, I gotta ask—how much longer do you actually think we're stuck in this mess? Give me your best guess. Since you're clearly an expert on the subject, here's your chance to shine. 😁
