Look, if you’re miserable at your current job and thinking about jumping into software engineering, honestly, you can't really lose.
I actually think you could start applying right now—I mean, there's a massive shortage of devs everywhere. Just be upfront about being a beginner, show them you're hungry to learn, and prove you've got the logic down. You don't need to be some kind of genius. You might have to take a hit on the salary early on, but after that? It’s entirely up to you how much you want to make. Taking a course would definitely help, though (check out www.coursera.org at the very least). Just give it a shot. Good luck. 👍

SanDisk Extreme Portable or WD My Passport? 🙂

I’ve got a question about buying an external hard drive with USB 3.0. Can I actually use it on my older computer if it only has USB 2.0 ports? My logic is that I might as well grab one now since I'll probably be upgrading to a newer rig with USB 3.0 in a year or two anyway.
I'm looking at picking up this SanDisk Ultra . Does anyone know if there's a better option out there for roughly the same price? Thanks.

If we're calling a 13-year-old a "young guy," then where does it stop? What about a 12-year-old? Or an 11-year-old?
And what if a 13-year-old girl has those same fantasies about an older man and he actually shows up? What’s the difference between that girl and your "young guy"?

So, I’ve been thinking—why is it that most people read a story like this and just laugh it off? You see comments like, "Oh, look at him, little guy thinks he's a player," or "The old man is just jealous and reported him." Total nonsense. But if the roles were reversed—if it was a young girl being seduced by an older man—the reaction would be instant fury. It’d be: "Pedophile!" "He should be hanged!" "I'd castrate him myself!" "Poor little girl!"
What is the actual difference between these two scenarios when they are fundamentally the exact same thing?
Don't get me wrong, maybe I don't view this specific case as terrifyingly as I would if the genders were flipped, but I honestly can't wrap my head around why society acts this way. :O
