I honestly can't deal with these massive banquet tables. 🤣

If they actually pulled out of Ukraine as a "gesture of goodwill," then we'd be talking.
That 24D chess player is back at it again.
Now the folks over in Finland are gonna go out of their way to set up those bases. 🤣
The only thing Putko actually called correctly was the total collapse of Russia.
hollowdriver13 said:Well, it's because military tech is basically a way to flex how strong an economy actually is; you want that stuff to be absolute cutting edge.
Plus, let's be real—the money in that industry is pretty sweet... 😬
I don't know about that. Just look at North Korea.
They’ve got missiles that are better than most places on the map, but they can barely afford basic groceries.

So, here’s the deal: the Sultan decided to lift the veto on Sweden and Finland, and in exchange, the US agreed to help modernize Turkey's fleet of fighter jets.
Like I was saying before, the whole point was always about getting those restrictions on military tech lifted; the stuff about the Kurds was really just political theater meant for domestic consumption and keeping certain interest groups happy.
You honestly have to give him credit, though—unlike Putin and Russia, this guy actually knows how to cut a deal. You can't just walk into a negotiation, demand 100% of what you want, and call it "diplomacy" like Russia does. That's not negotiating, it's just straight-up blackmail.
I mean, the demands aren't even that crazy. But honestly, I think the USA applied a bit of pressure on their end too.
Btw, idk why everyone is so obsessed with racing for military tech. It’d be way better if they just competed over whose economy is actually stronger.

Honestly, we probably just needed to sit back for a few more years and watch NATO fall apart on its own from all the constant bickering between members, eventually becoming this leaderless, aimless group that doesn't even know why it exists anymore.
The real question is, does Putko actually have that kind of luxury? Or did he decide he couldn't wait any longer and just went for the "let's see if this works" approach.
The Russians are absolute masters of strategy. Seriously, everything they set out to achieve has backfired spectacularly, yet they’re still out there acting like every single move is going exactly according to plan.

What the hell are even Moscow's demands? 🤔
At what point in time were they ever actually articulated?
Honestly, there isn't a problem to begin with because it's just not going to happen.
Ukraine is going to reclaim its land, and that's the end of the story.
hollowdriver13 said:He managed to get Sweden lift the ban on arms sales, which was the whole end game, and it's even possible the US agreed to sell more F-16s.
The Kurds were basically just part of the APP region's interests, and honestly, a little bit of state propaganda too.
And on a slightly less serious note, he got NATO members to agree to call Turkey Türkiye instead of Turkey😉 😬
If the APP thing is for the Kurds, then good for them. Honestly, it feels like the Turks want to wipe them out just like how the Russians are doing to the Ukrainians. And I'm not even going to touch the whole name change thing. If that's the original English translation, why bother changing it? It probably just reminds them of some old-school turkey bird, LOL.
Terry Green3 said:The Finns claimed they wouldn't allow any nuclear arsenals on their soil, nor would they host NATO bases—not that anyone actually believes that carries much weight.
That’s just not what they said. Later on, the Finnish Prime Minister—or whatever her title is—actually mentioned they’re totally down to have NATO bases in Finland.

The Britons aren't wrong, though... Putin views any kind of concession as pure weakness, so you really only have one way to deal with him: on his terms. I doubt the Sultan will hand anything over anytime soon, knowing this guy isn't Macron—he couldn't care less about Morocco compared to how much he's focused on Ukraine.
I feel for the Kurds. The Sultan definitely gained something from this concession.
The Kurds really should've pulled this off sooner and secured their own region with global backing while they had the chance. I haven't got a clue what's buried in that deal, but at this rate, it looks like they can kiss Kurdistan goodbye.
rowdytiger13 said:Just sitting here waiting for the threats against Turkey to start, so maybe their leader—who’s basically the same caliber, just slightly less unhinged—can finally get them sorted out by 3 PM.
I mean... the guy actually managed to take down one of Putin's planes; he clearly doesn't give a damn about anyone's feelings.
If Russia makes a move and Turkey responds by shipping even more supplies to Ukraine, man, I am crossing my fingers for that exact scenario.
Donna Wells2 said:I’d say we should stick to that old saying... don't fear the dog that barks.
Since this war kicked off, they've been making threats to everyone and everything...
At the end of the day, it's nothing but a desperate display of weakness. Nothing more.
Maybe the folks in the US and NATO actually have some intel we're missing, which would explain why they're staying so chill?
Samuel Rodriguez52 said:I guess Putin basically forced a country he shares such a massive border with to join NATO, which pretty much brings potential nuclear weapons right to his doorstep—the very thing he was supposedly fighting against in Ukraine. It’s honestly quite an impressive strategy if you think about it.
Total chess grandmaster move. 🤣
Bulgaria kicks out 70 Russian diplomats
The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs dropped the hammer on Tuesday, telling Russia they need to pack up and pull 70 of their diplomats by June 3rd. Basically, they’re trying to shrink the Russian embassy in Sofia down to a size that actually matches the Bulgarian staff working over in Moscow.
"First off, it's about reciprocity. Secondly, we've got Russian officials running around doing stuff that the Bulgarian government says flies right in the face of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations," the Bulgarian Ministry put out in an official statement.
This isn't even the first time this month, either. Back in March, Bulgaria booted two Russian diplomats for allegedly playing spy, and then followed that up by kicking out another ten because—according to the Bulgarian Ministry—they were busy with activities that just don't fit the whole "diplomat" job description.

Now we just wait for the inevitable threats and outbursts coming from the White House.
I'm all for what Turkey decided to do.

Nah. Zoki already greenlit the Scandinavian countries, and there's no Veto when it comes to the US.
