Maybe cats are just socially conditioned too? 🤷 I wouldn't bet my life on it... someone "healthy" might still be lured in by a family member if they weren't aware of the blood connection.

placidbadger18 said:I was considering picking up a skirt and a top, but since I’m serving as the maid of honor at this wedding, a dress feels like the more appropriate move. It isn't that money is an issue for me, but I’m already feeling pretty exhausted, and at this point, I just want to be able to zip something up and be done with it. 😁 I'll take a look at that shop you mentioned. Thanks for the tip.

I checked out the options there earlier and only came across one dress that leaned toward being formal. Aside from the fact that it didn't quite hit the level of elegance I was looking for, it was black—and I've heard through the grapevine that wearing black to a wedding is a bit of a faux pas. Since I don't find myself attending weddings very often, I’m not entirely sure how strictly that rule is applied these days. If anyone has a different take on the etiquette or some better insight, I’d appreciate the help. 🙂
I'll take another look at this next week; perhaps I'll have something new to share then. 🙂 You're welcome. 🙂

A saleswoman at a shop recently made the assumption that my breasts weren't natural. She actually looked me in the eye and said, "Since you clearly had enough money for breast implants, you should be able to afford to have this dress tailored." It wasn't exactly funny at the time. 😁

Well, it’s Xnation again, and this time I’m looking for Marina Rinaldi. I’m heading out on a hunt next week, so if anyone happens to remember anything before then, it would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

😲 😠 Yeah, it’s not exactly hilarious now either. Just completely uncalled for. I would have just said: "Sorry for trying to burden you with the massive task of finding a decent dress. I didn't realize you were too dim-witted to handle such a heavy workload." Not to mention filing a formal complaint...

Donna Turner8, honestly, that sounds like herpes triggered by a weakened immune system. It’s what happens when some picky relative decides to enforce an extreme diet on everyone... Look, managing what you eat is great and all, but the diet actually needs to include food. You need more than just soups and herbal teas; you need fruit, veggies, protein, and yeah, even those "dreaded" carbs and fats. A human body actually requires them to function...

I’m not sure where you’re coming from on this, but honestly... a solid podiatrist who specializes in medical foot care often knows way more about what's actually going on than a general doctor does. Just speaking from my own experience.

Grace Chase97 said:Just take 2 mg of Nomabel. But maybe test it out beforehand... you don't want it knocking you out right in the middle of your exam.
Stick to the usual bland diet when your stomach is acting up.

I have a feeling diarrhea is actually one of the side effects of taking Nomabel...
The reasoning I was given was basically just to wait out the allergy season...
Casey Stewart7 said:Yeah, but what I'm really wondering is—can you actually go get allergy testing done this time of year, or should I just hold off until at least the fall?

In my experience, I had to wait until autumn to get mine done. But that was over ten years ago, so medical practices have probably shifted since then...
Psychiatrist or Psychologist? in Health ·
wanderingangler13 said:....I haven't taken any meds myself, but I know this friend of a private psychiatrist went straight to the pharmacy (and paid out of pocket)....Is that actually possible, or am I just mistaken?

...I can't quite recall the specifics, but since she was training to be a preschool teacher, her family did everything they could to make sure nothing showed up on her official record...

...all in all, it looks like the OP is pretty young, and maybe their issues don't actually require prescription medication...based on first impressions, it might be better to see a psychologist (maybe at one of those counseling centers) or find a private psychiatrist...there’s really no reason to have it on a permanent record if it isn't necessary...

Then it's probably so that instead of paying full price, Medicare covers them (at least partially). I don't know, my dad used to see a private cardiologist, but his primary care doctor would write the prescriptions for his meds. I assumed that was just how things worked. But anyway, thanks for the different perspective.

, based on your last point, I'd recommend seeing a psychologist.

But even if a psychiatrist prescribes something, you still have to swing by your primary care doctor to get the script processed, so everything ends up being logged in the system anyway.

@Brenda Cooper3/">@@Brenda Cooper3: I see you’re "thrilled" about the possibility of an inflammation, and honestly, I get it if the alternative is an unplanned pregnancy. BUT... don't play around when it comes to an infection. Just go see a doctor. I know it's a hassle, but I don't have any issues, so I just head in for my regular checkups without making a thing out of it.

David Harris58, if this is only your second period, you can't expect it to show up every four weeks on the dot. It isn't really about being "late"... it's just that your cycle hasn't actually established itself yet. That process can take years sometimes. And honestly, some women just never have a regular one...

People have already been trying to push some cotton pads on me. I'm not positive if these are the exact ones, but they look similar enough. Anyway, I tried them once and never again. Maybe that’s for the best, but honestly, it felt like wearing five diapers. I'm pretty sure NASA could have spotted me from the space shuttle...

So, I just found out my iron levels are bottoming out—first time ever. My doctor suggested my heavy periods might be the culprit. I’m calling my OB-GYN on Monday to get an appointment, but I’m stuck on one thing: how does a doctor actually determine if bleeding is "too much"? To me, it feels excessive, but it's not like I'm stacking pads like a tower or changing them every thirty minutes. I always figured this was just part of being a woman... sometimes painful, sure, but not exactly fainting-spell territory. Now I want to know if there's a concrete way to prove it. I don't want to just walk in there, shrug, and say, "I don't know, maybe? It's heavier than my sister's," only for him to just toss some pills at me and call it a day.
