Dealing with pollen and dust allergies...

It’s been going on for about ten days now... and honestly, it’s exhausting. I’m sneezing, my nose is itching, it's running... and it isn't even constant. It hits me in waves, but once those sneezing fits start, they just won't quit.
I’ve never dealt with allergies in my life... this is just miserable... and it won't let up. Is there any chance this is just some random sneezing fit?

Just grab some antihistamines... if that doesn't do the trick, you should probably see an immunologist to get some allergy testing done.

About two months ago, I started sneezing constantly, and now my nose is completely stuffed up.
It’s gotten to the point where it feels more like breathing through my mouth than actually getting air.
I end up sleeping with my mouth wide open all night, and by morning, my lips are totally parched and cracked from the dryness. The worst part, though, is that on top of losing my sense of smell, I can't really tell the difference between sweet, salty, or bitter anymore...

Does anyone have any advice or tips?

So, I have to ask, are you actually taking anything for this? There is an absolute mountain of options out there—antihistamine tablets, various nasal sprays, and so on.

Drugstores are practically overflowing with medication these days.
If it weren't for my daily dose, these allergies would drive me insane—not exactly the healthiest way to live, but honestly, there isn't much of a choice if you want to function.
I’ve been taking Belodin for about three weeks now. It’s far from perfect, but it makes things bearable. No prescription required, either. Today, I’m heading out to pick up some barrier cream for my nostrils—something to physically block the pollen from getting in. The nights are proving to be the biggest struggle, so I'm hoping that helps.

I’ve just started dealing with seasonal allergies this year, specifically with pollen 🙄.

I also picked up a nasal spray inhaler—it's actually medication. It finally started kicking in after about five days, so I actually had my first peaceful night of sleep yesterday👍.

It really is quite awful, though... losing your sense of taste and smell. On the bright side, I guess there's one little advantage: nothing smells bad to me, and I can eat absolutely anything without issue🤣

My doctor suggested it might just be some minor allergy... but now that I'm sitting here thinking about it, what could I actually be allergic to during the fall? I get the spring part—pollen and all that—but what happens in the autumn?

Same thing here; ragweed and weeds start blooming like crazy right around then.

My sister is really struggling with these spring allergies lately.
On top of the usual stuff, her eyes get super puffy and red—I guess it might just be a typical allergic reaction, but maybe there's something else going on?
How are you guys all dealing with allergy season right now?

Spring allergies hit me like a freight train. Every single year, around May and June, I’m a mess. Honestly, I have no clue what specifically triggers it—maybe just everything blooming at once. It's total chaos out there.🙂
Mainly, it's the constant runny nose and this relentless itching. At this point, I basically look like a junkie.🙂And the eye itch? That’s what really pushes me over the edge. Then there’s the sneezing fits; when they hit, they hit hard. One day I’ll feel perfectly fine, and then suddenly, for fifteen minutes straight, it's pure madness. I've gone through entire boxes of tissues in one sitting. Last year, my doctor prescribed some Rinolan, which actually works. Before that, I never took anything—just sat there being an absolute idiot and suffering through it.

She's actually pretty worried, though, because her eyes are swelling up so much—it honestly looks like she's been crying all day—and she isn't sure if that's just a normal symptom or if something else might be going on.
She’s taking Belodin, but I guess it's not really doing much since things have gotten this bad.

Once I take my Singulair, everything just seems to settle down and I feel fine again.🙂

What you're describing sounds like a classic allergic reaction to something in the environment. It might be something blooming in your neighborhood, especially since I've noticed so much pollen in the air lately. Personally, I don't mind too much because ragweed always kills me in September, and Belodin does the trick for me. Usually, it’s just watery eyes, sneezing, coughing, and a headache right around the forehead area.

It seems like Belodin just isn't strong enough for whatever she's reacting to. How old is she? The effects can vary quite a bit between kids and adults. Hopefully, her doctor will prescribe something a bit "stronger."🙂

pollen allergies are absolutely wrecking me right now. My eyes are constantly watering—it’s miserable. I can barely get through my daily routine, and the constant irritability isn't helping.
I've cycled through various medications (and I stay on top of my calcium), but it feels like my body just stops responding to them after a while.

Can anyone recommend something that actually works for you? I'm currently scouring the web for brands I can order online to see if anything else sticks.

I used to suffer from absolutely brutal allergies to everything—pollen was the worst. Even while I was working in a flower shop, it was a nightmare. I’d get these intense headaches, too; just felt terrible.
A woman at the local pharmacy gave me a course of Belodin for 14 days, and it cleared everything right up.
And look at me now... this year, it’s like my allergies never even existed.
I don't have a single symptom, not even a trace.

As for medications abroad... they have certain tablets over there... I can't recall the exact name, but my husband used them a few months back. I can give you the name once he gets home.
Then you can just do a quick search online to see if they can be ordered. They were some kind of Swiss tablets.

Cyrtec’s first options are definitely more potent, but there’s a catch... they tend to make you drowsy. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean it'll happen to you if you're taking his specific brand, but he claims they outperform the alternatives much better than the rest.
Cerzin—he mentioned those are decent enough and don't cause side effects, but they just lack the punch.

So, those are the two options. They worked wonders for him.

The price usually tops out at around $15... or whatever $13 costs.
Once you factor in shipping, it won't break the bank by much.

So, I've been dealing with this brutal allergy for about three years now that feels just like a constant cold. I'm talking stuffy nose, non-stop sneezing, a runny nose, and even light sensitivity. I suspect it might be ragweed, though the timing doesn't quite line up with when it usually blooms. Anyway, I wanted to ask—if they find out I'm allergic to pollen, dust, pet dander, or something else, is there actually any medication that helps ease the symptoms? Maybe that's too broad, so let me rephrase: have they developed effective drugs for most allergies, or am I stuck with a lifetime supply of tissues?
