I’m genuinely curious—on what legal grounds could they actually shut me down? They've been ignoring my existence for decades without issue...
Nobody is going to "ban" you from anything... they'll just decide they don't want to do business with you anymore.

Look, neither the banks nor the IRS can actually do squat to me.
If they could, I’d be doing way more of whatever I want.
You don't get it... they literally have zero leverage over me.
I'm sitting here right now waiting for my bank to release funds from my checking and savings accounts, and they're claiming they won't because I didn't fill out some stupid survey... 😁
Get real.
Seriously though, what kind of backwater town are you living in?

Your only move is to file a lawsuit for attempting to exploit legally protected private data for marketing purposes. The more people who step up and sue, the faster these banks will stop this arrogant, blatant bullshit.

Man, explain to me how a bank teller or some random security guard—who isn't even at fault here—is gonna force me to fill out their stupid survey?

Grace Wood5 said:Not even close...

Banks are obligated to clearly separate the actual questions we are legally entitled to an answer for from those just meant for marketing fluff. Until they fix this, NOBODY in the entire American financial sector is required to answer a single thing, and any attempt at these "surveys" is basically a legal violation.

You don't have to give anyone any answers if you don't feel like it.
Just show a cop your ID, license, and registration when they ask. That's basically it.
Everything else is voluntary... you don't have to if you don't want to...

Or—and this is the more immediate headache—your bank might just decide they don't want the trouble and freeze your accounts entirely.

The IRS can watch my every move if they want. Honestly, I couldn't care less.
Same goes for any bank teller trying to shove some random survey down my throat...
Just curious what legal ground they'd even have to shut me down... they've been taking my money for decades without an issue...

On a side note, they’ve tacked on several statements regarding marketing. Honestly, I fail to see how their promotional strategies have anything to do with money laundering.
The questionnaire itself was drafted by the American Association Bank. Beyond that, it seems certain banks enjoy asking all sorts of intrusive questions under the guise of this particular law.

Nobody is actually forced to do anything.
You think the cops are gonna cuff you and drag you into a bank just to fill out a survey? ...
But if someone wants to sign away everything, go ahead...
Better to just leave it blank and sign nothing...

George Lewis9 said:Listen to a lecture on data warehousing and data mining, and you’ll quickly realize that from a marketing standpoint, tracking individuals is pointless—it’s all about the aggregate groups. So, honestly, there’s really no reason to worry about privacy being compromised here.

But still, nobody is obligated to hand over any info beyond what they already have. Everyone can just tell them to beat it at 3 PM or whenever else they feel like it...

Data collection? Please...
Bankers can ask whatever they want. You can give them any answer you feel like giving, if you even bother to respond at all. My personal banker at Bank of America tried to grill me once. I think she regretted it. We haven't said anything more than "hello" since then...

Sam Ruiz60 said:They already know everything—they don't even need your questions or answers to figure out which credit score you’re carrying or if your accounts are in the red. They ask those questions just to see if you'll keep lying to them. And let's be honest: once someone starts lying, they start stealing. At that point, these companies will just find a way to screw you over and ensure you aren't some sucker paying off a loan religiously while they take advantage.

Forgot to mention that thieves are murderers too.
If that's how you say it, then I guess it's true...😵

I treat them like those high-end boutique girls who blow up my phone constantly. I get it. But mostly, I just mess with them...

If you’d dealt with the same crap I did—being stuck with those Swiss franc loans back in the day—you’d definitely get where I'm coming from...

Nah, you don't owe them a single thing.
You can even lie if you feel like it, just don't sign anything...

I once tried asking my personal banker something like that.
Pretty sure they won't ever ask me again... and neither will her colleagues who heard how I responded.
