To be honest, I don't really get much done either until everything is totally quiet. No TVs on, no monitors glowing, just everything tucked in and still...
Let me know how your sleep starts looking 🙂

Yeah, totally.😍

Timothy Wood38 said:I’m signing my name to everything Eric Jackson11 wrote here. It seems pretty obvious you aren't reading the medication guide carefully enough. You're supposed to take Zan right before hitting the sack—take it and go straight to bed to try and drift off. No showering, no getting ready, nothing. And Zan kicks in within 15 to 30 minutes, which doesn't mean you can spend those 15 minutes browsing the web or hopping in the shower. Basically, finish all your bedtime prep first, then take the pill and head straight to bed to sleep. Zan, much like Valium, isn't one of those pills you take during the day because you're feeling tired and expect a nap. If that's the case, you're better off sticking to something like Nermobel or Bromazepam. And one more thing regarding these Z-drugs—Zan, Valium—they don't necessarily make you feel "sleepy" in the traditional sense; they just induce sleep. They don't create that heavy, drowsy sensation where you feel like you're fading out. They act quickly and selectively, and their sole purpose is the hypnotic effect.

Okay, well, I guess that's settled then.🥳

It wasn't just some random decision I made on a whim, either. My therapist actually gave me a serious warning about this medication, noting how rarely it’s even prescribed and insisting that if I experience any side effects at all, I need to head straight back to San Francisco. I’m honestly not a fan of Eli Lilly's stuff, but I suppose I'll keep taking it for now. 😁

Sometimes you have to stick with it longer than a single dose for it to actually kick in properly and for those side effects to settle down (😕)

It wasn't just one pill. I took some yesterday around 7:00 PM, thinking I’d head to bed by 8:00 to get some rest, but absolutely nothing happened—no fatigue, no headache relief whatsoever. My head was pounding so intensely it felt unbearable. When I finally managed to drift off around 2:00 AM, I was wide awake again by 4:00 after a trip to the bathroom, and that was the end of my sleep. Now, my head is killing me all day and I’m having these hallucinations, almost like I'm stuck inside some weird cartoon where everything is moving too fast. I tried taking another dose this afternoon hoping to catch some sleep so I can actually study for my exam tomorrow evening, but again, nothing... 🤷 It just doesn't seem worth the struggle with these things... I have insomnia, and I don't doubt that part for a second...

Jason Vaughn482 said:In my experience, a 10 mg dose of Ambien usually does the trick, though occasionally I’ll supplement it with half of a 15 mg Lunesta tablet. Even then, I tend to wake up around 5 in the morning, so I'll take a 0.25 mg Xanax to bridge the gap until about 9 or 10 o'clock.

Well, I completely cut Xanax out of my regimen today. Yesterday, I had such a pounding headache that it felt like my brain was boiling, yet it still took me four hours just to drift off—and when I finally woke up, I hadn't slept a wink. I actually ended up calling my doctor's office to report the side effects; I told them I was ready to throw the pills right out the window (especially since I paid for them myself!), so they sent me some more Ambien. Honestly, the Xanax was making me start seeing things... hallucinations and all sorts of weirdness.

Does anyone else in this group take Elicea? I’m trying to figure out if it's okay to take it in the late afternoon or evening. I guess I've been so exhausted lately that I completely forgot my dose over the last few days, and now I'm worried that if I take it around 8 PM, it might mess with my sleep.
And honestly, I am still wide awake 😢 5 hours later. I have to give credit to whoever suggested that one pill is enough—they were clearly wrong. Does anyone have any actual advice? This is clearly some pretty intense insomnia 😢

I took my first dose of CNN about an hour ago, and I guess I just don't feel any different at all... 🙂

Have you ever tried something like Centrum?
It really made a difference for me personally.
Maybe have a chat with your doctor about it; there are so many different combinations out there, and I’m sure they can find one that works just right for you. 🙂
.....but if things don't improve through your doctor, your family, or even by searching online... please consider heading to a crisis center in Chicago to explain what you're going through. If you aren't near the city, just go to the nearest emergency room and tell them how you feel. Believe me, someone will find a way to help you sleep...

Well, last Friday she actually tried to give me some Ambien mixed with something like Fluzepam, or whatever, but then she changed her mind. Honestly, if she gives me the heavy stuff, I worry about what happens once I become dependent on them. I guess I was flipping through my medical books, asked my dad about Xanax (which isn't right for me), and then she finally gave me CNN. I haven't picked it up yet because it’s impossible to find in any pharmacy lately, but when I do, I'll be sleeping like a baby. I really don't understand why everyone makes such a huge fuss over it.🤷

Eric Gray2 said:Maybe this kind of platform really isn't for someone who can't handle a bit of confrontation. And honestly, taking medication "on the side" without a prescription isn't just ill-advised—it's reckless and potentially dangerous.

There's absolutely no reason to resort to insults.

Look, I am apologizing; I tend to be quite impulsive and I lose my temper when people misunderstand me. I won't go out and grab them on my own; instead, I will pick them up from her and ask if they are okay for me to use.

Please, once you're done reading your little primer—assuming the doctors aren't actually doing their jobs right—do us all a favor and share that anecdote with the group.

Hmm, okay, Miss Irritatingly Pretentious... I actually asked her if she was still taking the medications you recommended I discuss with my doctor. My mom has a massive stockpile given her condition, so I’ll probably pick up some of the ones you mentioned and consult with her psychiatrist. She brought up Q-pin, though she called the "Q" something else; I wonder if "Q" is just shorthand for the full name? On top of that, she told me she’d save the Sanval for me since she doesn't take it, which, frankly, has absolutely nothing to do with you. I have my own brain, so I don't need your insults; I am fully aware of what's going on. Besides, I’ve dealt with Lexapro, Celexa, Paxil, Misivas, Norvasc, Sanval, and the whole gang before they were even officially prescribed to me, so I’m certainly not... losing my mind over morphine.🙄.

I honestly still can't wrap my head around how spiteful and wretched people can be. It feels like I might just quit the internet entirely because instead of having a civilized discussion or offering actual advice, everyone just resorts to throwing stones at every minor slip-up—especially these condescending admins.

And seriously, Rose, try being a bit smarter and just stay quiet rather than trying to make others look foolish; you're only making yourself look ridiculous. 😉

Do I really need to provide more justifications?

So, I just got off the phone with my mother—she’s basically an expert on pharmaceuticals (in her own mind)—and I asked her about those antipsychotics. She confirmed that they definitely knock you out, so she’s actually going to set some aside for me to test out and see how they affect me. After that, I’ll probably have to go sit down with my psychiatrist and read the manual myself, since she clearly forgot to mention such an obvious detail. 😠

redranger2 said:Look, honey, things like Sanval and Misar aren't actual cures for insomnia; they are nothing more than temporary Band-Aids. There is absolutely no reason to be afraid of asking
your psychiatrist for whatever you need. They work for you, not the other way around. You should specifically ask about being prescribed an antipsychotic, as those are frequently utilized for severe, chronic cases of insomnia. For instance, options like Quincie or Prazin are widely available and kept in stock.

Well, I guess I'll make sure to ask at my next check-up. This Elice is absolutely destroying me right now. I'm constantly feeling miserable, overly sensitive, crying all the time, and I can't even eat. It's honestly awful. And on top of all that, I can't sleep a wink.

Timothy Wood38 said:Just hang in there, okay? Everything will work out. Did you ever try taking Lexapro or maybe Trittico for sleep? How did that go for you?

NOTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE! For years, my therapy has consisted of Sanval 0.5 and Misar 0.25, and recently—at someone's suggestion—I was asked to switch to Sanval 10mg and 0.5 Misar, alongside Fevarin, which I used to get filled at Elice. And yet, I still can't sleep... I have no appetite, I feel completely off, and I haven't even taken the medications mentioned, so I'm actually terrified to even ask...

Timothy Wood38 said:Well, if you say your doctor is being clueless, I'm inclined to believe you. It’s perfectly normal to deal with those kinds of side effects while your body is still trying to adjust to the medication.

Honestly, I swear, every single damn time it’s a different psychiatrist. Why did you even bother coming to us in the first place? It was because of INSOMNIA, but no, instead we get stuck with Elice, and frankly, screw Elice. I’m taking four 0.5mg pills at once—that is straight-up addiction. Then they have the nerve to suggest I take 1mg of Xanax instead and just double up on those. They are disgusting; they truly nauseate me. I am actually starting to contemplate suicide because I cannot sleep, yet these people simply refuse to understand the agony I'm in... why doesn't it even occur to them to prescribe an antipsychotic? Because I'm YOUNG? Am I supposed to just suffer through this because I'm young? She mentioned Dormicum, and I'll be looking for that just to shut my brain down; I am constantly on edge because of all of this... at this rate, I won't even make it to thirty. A nervous breakdown from this stress will kill me before anything else. I see people out there taking massive amounts of medication, yet she finds it problematic to give me the damn stuff I need just to calm down. Honestly, they can go to hell...😠

redranger2 said:Personally, I find Elice (Lexapro) to be an excellent antidepressant because, in most instances, it
managed to pull me out of my crisis. Of course, everyone reacts differently, but for me, it has been a highly effective
medication with side effects that remained relatively minor—mostly just some yawning, a loss of appetite, lethargy,
and slight nausea.

I haven't had any appetite since starting it, but my doctor keeps insisting that isn't even a side effect. I don't get any yawning or sleepiness, but I am incredibly irritable because of it... clearly, this isn't working for me, yet I have no idea what else to look for. What kind of antipsychotic should I ask about for sleep? I feel like I'm living in a fog, and honestly, these doctors are just clueless.🙄

Larry Taylor2 said:Hey everyone! For those of you who rely on Alice: what’s your actual experience been like? From what I’ve gathered through the grapevine, the results are all over the map—some people don't feel a thing, others swear they put on weight, and then there are those who deal with dizzy spells that make it impossible to get used to the routine. On average, how much of the stuff are you guys taking? Thanks for sharing.

It works like absolute garbage. Personally, I find Lexapro much more effective; I barely notice any side effects with that one. This stuff is just useless... I've been on it for about six weeks now, and honestly, it's trash. My doctor mentioned I should probably stay on it for two years to let everything level out, but I guess I'll just stop whenever I can't stand it anymore...

shadowbear9 said:Dear friends, I am having a truly terrible day today. I honestly don't have the strength to even get out of bed, despite having an exam tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM. To be perfectly honest, I can't even bring myself to care about studying; I just feel miserable, and every single day feels like a repetitive cycle of the same misery. I am at a complete loss as to what to do. I find myself wondering whether I should just resort to hitting myself with a heavy object or maybe something else entirely... but I suppose nothing ever actually helps. If I'm being completely candid, I'd rather just end it all and be done with everything. What on earth are these side effects supposed to be?

Well, I guess I'm being ignored just like usual.

Robin Hernandez8 said:Honestly, misar acts pretty much the same as xanax. There is xanax SR available in 1 mg and 2 mg doses... so, I guess, it might be worth asking your doctor to prescribe that instead if they're willing? Because taking 4 misar at 0.5 mg feels a bit off, even though—and I know how this goes—it ends up being the exact same thing anyway.
Maybe even just one xanax SR at 1 mg would be enough to knock you out.

Well, I honestly don't know; so far, nobody has ever even mentioned those antipsychotics you all keep discussing. They just keep hitting me with these sedatives and hypnotics... and if they don't work, it's because it's only 0.25 mg, which wouldn't even put my cat to sleep, let alone me, so what am I supposed to do? I just increase the dose until I finally pass out. I barely managed to convince them to give me 0.5 mg, and now I can finally take 1 mg or 2 mg and get some decent sleep...
Now that I've seen how Zana works, I have absolutely no clue why they gave it to me if it's weaker than Sanval... especially since I already told them that even Sanval wasn't doing much anymore. My biggest issue, though, is that they switch my psychiatrist every single damn time. I am certainly not going to sit there and recite my entire insomnia saga from A to Z to every new doctor who walks through the door.🙄

Robin Hernandez8 said:Well, I mean, I guess that's because 2 mg all at once is actually quite a hefty dose for Melatonin. You're doing 0.5 mg four times a day, right?

I take 2mg before bed. I guess if I had the 0.25 mg pills, it would be 12 tablets, but since I have the 0.5 mg ones, it's 4; and if I had the 1mg version, then it would just be 2.
