I won't actually receive mine until Tuesday. Would you mind showing me the expected date a day ahead of time?

Honestly, it all depends on when the embryo transfer happened. It doesn't really matter if the test is pricey or cheap—it just comes down to how much hCG is actually reacting.
slybadger99 said:Quick question for everyone—which test should I actually bother taking if I want a reliable result the day before my period is supposed to start?

Which one tends to be more sensitive?

Just use a Clearblue. 🙂

Since my cycle usually runs about 28-29 days, I should be due around January 14th or 15th! We've been going hard at it, tracking fertile days and all that jazz, but there's a catch. My breasts have been sore and heavy since ovulation—nipples are super sensitive, plus some itching and my stomach has been cramping like I'm about to start any second. And that's not even the half of it. Yesterday morning, I noticed this weird, brownish-red discharge, and it hasn't stopped... nothing on my underwear, just shows up on the toilet paper after I pee (which I've been doing a lot lately). I know it's early, and I took a test yesterday, but it was negative. Called my OBGYN and she basically told me to just wait until my period is actually due. I had this exact same discharge during my first pregnancy, but that was in the second month once I already knew I was pregnant (and had the labs to prove it) while taking Dabroston. I'm a bit anxious because I had a cone biopsy for CIN III/CIS five years ago, though I did get a full checkup and cleared everything with my doctor before we started trying. Has anyone else dealt with this—that light spotting/discharge right before you find out you're pregnant?

That could be implantation. If it really is, a highly sensitive test might show a positive in two or three days. Or maybe your hormones just got a bit wonky this cycle and your period is coming early... especially if you aren't 100% sure when you actually ovulated. Just wait a few more days—if your period doesn't start properly with bright red flow, take a test. Good luck.

My OB-GYN later explained that these tests can give all sorts of false readings if you don't follow the directions. And the instructions clearly state to wait until after your missed period. ☕
Obviously, an early test might show fertilization has occurred (because it has), but you could still end up getting your period, which effectively "washes away" that fertilization. In that case, it isn't technically a pregnancy—even though fertilization happened, the embryo failed to implant, or rather, failed to stick. I've detailed my own experience in a few posts earlier. 😉

The embryo doesn't "implement," it implants. And if implantation didn't happen, there's no HCG hormone for the test to pick up. If yours was positive first and then you got your period, that's an actual pregnancy—it's called a biochemical pregnancy. It doesn't mean the test was wrong. It just showed what was happening at that exact moment. I mean, how would a test know it's going to be a biochemical pregnancy and just show a negative right away?
Jerry Bailey47 said:Ladies, I know you’re all itching for answers, but please—just wait until you've actually missed your next period! Honestly, does anyone even bother reading the fine print on these pregnancy tests? Every single one of them clearly states that your period MUST be late for the results to mean anything at all—otherwise, you're just wasting your time.😳 😉

Why would it HAVE TO BE LATE for the test to work??? Sure, it might be more accurate once you've actually missed a period... but I took a test before my period was even late and it was positive. You gonna tell me that was invalid? Because if it was, then why am I currently looking like a pregnant whale with a baby kicking me in the gut?
And besides, who actually knows exactly when their period is "late" unless they had an ultrasound to confirm ovulation or they're tracking basal body temperature? Even if cycles are usually regular, they don't stay that way forever. 🥳

No
How do you even know you haven't had anything from the start?
