Just browsing some vintage halinice pieces on eBay right now. Does anyone here actually have a feel for how these run? Like, if I usually wear a size 52 in Italy, what should I be aiming for in UK sizing?
Hey, have you maybe checked out downtown? I bet that shop in San Diego has what you're looking for... they get new shipments in all the time, so if you dig around a bit, you'll definitely unearth something good.
Brandon Nelson3, man, this sounds awesome! Seriously, thanks a ton for dropping all this info here.. I'm definitely gonna go check both of them out myself soon.. 🙂
I spotted some decent lace-trim panties at U New Look—the kind you wear under everything—and the prices actually seemed alright. H&M doesn't even carry B&B.. I didn't even dare step foot inside Oltre because I was terrified of going broke😬 though, man, they were calling my name... ugh... luckily, I was in a rush so I dodged a bullet. I really wanted to swing by Amadeus too to check out that collection of larger sizes someone mentioned, but I just ran out of time. So if anyone else heads that way, let me know what the selection is like..
Regarding sizing over at Oltre, I’m usually a 52 up top, but for bottoms, it really depends on the cut. I generally fluctuate between a 46 and a 52.. At C&A, for instance, I picked up an XL shirt recently and it fit perfectly.. I used to love Orsay because their stuff was so affordable, but these days? I couldn't even afford to walk past their storefronts. Maybe I'll pop in one day for a scarf or some gloves, if I'm feeling fancy. 😬
It’s funny, really... when you have a smaller standard size, you can get dressed for way, way less money.. Like, I just bought a bra at Anita - $107! It's pretty, but nothing special, and obviously black. If I were wearing, say, a B cup, I could actually choose from purple, yellow, blue, lace, wide straps, thin straps, blah blah blah—and all of that for less than $33. I heard that during the grand opening of the mall, Tezenis had all bras for $39.90.. Anyway 🙂 .. One thing I’ve realized is that when I’ve put on a few extra pounds, nothing can be tight. If something pinches, I get so incredibly stressed... honestly, it stresses me out so much I end up gaining another 3kg immediately from emotional snacking on chocolate. 🙂 But when I feel good in my clothes and everything is comfy, then the weight just seems to fall off naturally. 😁
And I don't even know 😁 So then you go asking girls to give you their number. If there isn't any outside, this is one of those rare shops where they don't just tell you "everything's on the shelf" and then start buzzing around... The numbers go up to 52, is that enough for you?
So, I'm actually hanging out at the mall right now, so I'll scout out if there are any B&B options over at H&M. I can't even look at Oltre though, because my man would seriously kill me if I did 😁 .. There’s also that one New Look thing, so I’ll let you know what it is once I check it out 😉
Also, just to throw some fuel on the fire for Oltea 😁 ...they rotate their entire collection roughly every three months, plus they get new stock hitting the shelves every single week. So, if you don't snag what you want on the first pass, you can pretty much guarantee you'll find it a few days later. If it turns out this ends up being my shop 😬 ...I guess I'll have to start charging them a commission...
Oh, and honestly, I don't know... I didn't really find anything specific there. Everything was just kind of crammed together in these messy piles, and that whole vibe just isn't really my thing.
Every time I hit up Old Navy, I actually manage to put together an outfit that works. Maybe it’s because the stuff there actually fits my age group, unlike that whole section at Target or Kohl's where everything feels... I don't know. Honestly, most of the styles in those places feel more like something my mom would wear, or—no offense intended—something you grab just because you need to cover up and nothing else. Even now, I’m rocking a T-shirt from Target, but I grabbed it from the basics aisle since the cut is a bit more relaxed. Last time I was there, I ended up just picking up a bra. I let my mom do all the heavy lifting with the fashion commentary; if she wants to go hunting for deals, she can, but honestly? Everything seems pretty pricey to me lately.
I mean, I don't exactly hate it or anything, 🤷 it’s just all kind of... baggy? Like, there's zero personality to it. It's just sort of shapeless, you know?
Really hoping this election turns out better than that mess we had back in Seattle 😉 I'll probably go take a look myself too... though if anyone heads out there today, let me know 🙂
I think they’re opening it up at the start of April. Not sure about the B&B side of things, though. But I know there’s going to be a Maternity ward, and usually, those places are right next to each other... Honestly, I’m pretty bummed out by the options they're giving us here in the States for the B&B department. 🤷
So I’m scrolling through Adora on Facebook, and man... those prices are... wow. Just brutal. Like, seeing some of these tagged at 400 and even $167! And here I was thinking Victoria's Secret at 200-$100 was a total rip-off...
Arthur Sanders said:Could you maybe give me a ballpark idea of what the shirts and dresses run for? You can just shoot me a DM if that's easier. 😁 I really need to refresh my wardrobe for spring. I finally realized it's time to step out of my constant sweatpants phase. 🙂
Also, bras at Victoria's Secret... they're just so hit or miss. They fit my chest weirdly too. I feel like the cup size is right, but the underwire feels way too small and doesn't have enough stretch. 🤷
Oh, for sure! 😉 So, looking at the last few things I picked up—that tunic you can see in the link I posted is about $73, a dress (black, sleeveless, cinched waist) was roughly $117, those super tight black leggings/jeggings were around $300-something, and um, what else?! Oh yeah, another tee with those batwing sleeves, that was maybe $200-something small.. Jeans usually run from $300 to $200 when the new collection drops, but you can snag the exact same pair on sale for $33. I actually tried on some on sale the other day that were totally awesome, but they were out of my size (which is crazy because usually, even with the new stuff, they actually have stock sitting there). Basic graphic tees start around $33 and up, and then there are the button-downs—I call them "office shirts"—those start at $200. I was actually counting the ones I still have in my closet the other day, since I've already cleared out some old stuff, donated others, or just wore them out, and I've got over ten of them now 😁. Right now, I am obsessed with those bodysuit-style tops. That thick cotton part at the bottom snaps in so they don't pop out of your pants. I grab some at full price and some on sale, depending on the mood..

I know a spot over in Trešnjevka—right by the tram line, just past the grocery store and before you hit the plaza on the left... Serious clothes—you know, the classics... I’ve got an XXL size stashed somewhere in Vladislav...
But wait, how does that work if I don't even know what they actually have? Like, is everything listed on their Facebook, or am I just flying blind here?
Sam Martin said:So, I headed out to Westgate today, and while I was browsing at Victoria's Secret, I stumbled upon this gorgeous 90D balconette bra. It’s, well, maybe a tiny bit snug right now, but I’ll probably just grab one of those expansion inserts later. I also picked up some silicone wide straps while I was there... Plus, I ended up grabbing some panties in the matching fabric, so now I actually have a full wedding set ready to go... Happy, happy, happy...
Just a heads-up for Belli and all my fellow plus-size girls: I saw some absolutely stunning bras over at Target going up to a 110F... Honestly, seeing them in so many different colors and patterns almost made me lose my mind—I wanted to buy one in every single design, though I managed to restrain myself... They aren't even that expensive, if I recall correctly, maybe around $80$30... and they had panties, corsets, halter tops... wow...
Target has definitely scaled back their selection lately. 🤷 It feels like they’ve cleared out so much stuff from the aisles that they probably shrunk the whole section too. I'll have to swing by again soon to see if anything new popped up. Anyway, about those amazing bras at Target—there was this one, also in an F cup, and I tried on my size, but they fit me so weirdly... I don't know, maybe it's just me being odd. 😍
Oh, and Adora, I am loving everything I'm seeing on the page! I'm just stuck waiting for their online shop to actually go live, because right now it's totally down... If any of you ladies are heading their way, could you maybe ask them if they'll be opening the website anytime soon? 😉
here’s some stuff I’ve been looking at lately ; )http://www.oltre.com/index_eng.html I’ve got this white, red, and blue tank top tucked under my denim jacket right now... It's such a vibe. Also, those jeans with the little rhinestones and the embroidery on the front pockets? Man, they look incredible. Honestly though, they're a bit out of my budget at the moment, so I'm just gonna sit tight and wait for a sale or something...
I’ve got basically everything from them—like, T-shirts, skirts, pants, jeans, button-downs, dresses, sweaters, even coats and a couple of belts. I even snagged two whole seasons' worth of sunglasses from them. Just, you know, the whole works 🙂 I am totally obsessed with them 😍
Honestly, you have no clue what I’d even use those sizes for. Like, if I'm shopping there, I usually grab a size 52 shirt, or maybe pants between 48 and 52 depending on how they cut them. They carry some stuff in L or XL too, but there isn't much of that. Does a bra size mean anything to you? 😁 Well, you could probably figure out how big a size 52 shirt actually is by seeing if you can button it up at the top—which, let me tell you, is my absolute biggest struggle with button-downs. Everything they have feels really youthful and slim-fit, plus they carry the larger sizes... it doesn't feel "old lady" at all. I'm talking about things like "office" style shirts, you know? Though they have elegant pieces too. It basically just depends on when you drop in, because their whole selection rotates every three months or so.
Man, how many typos am I making here? Just typing this up on my phone and my brain is kind of fried right now... 🙂 I also wanted to mention that I swung by that Ulle Popken place, but honestly, it’s just not really my vibe. Feels a little too much like somewhere old ladies would hang out, you know?
No problem at all! 😉 I actually swung by there the other day too. I picked up some super skinny black pants—and honestly, I totally get what you mean about those butterfly sleeves (I always call them "mouse sleeves" 🙂). I grabbed that blue one with the glittery shoulder detail, though I noticed they had a black version too. Oh, and that tunic with the wide blue, white, and red stripes? Plus that little black fitted dress with the killer cut? It looks absolutely stunning 🙂. I was really torn on a pair of jeans, though; they were just a tiny bit too tight, and they didn't have my next size up, and then the next ones I tried were way too baggy. What I love about their shop is how they refresh everything every three months or so. Fresh stuff, new collections, all that good stuff 😍
