Thomas Morales2 said:Honestly, my brother-in-law is driving me up the wall lately. He keeps insisting that I’m going to have another boy, acting like it’s some sort of family pattern—as if nobody in his side of the family ever has girls! It’s pretty rich coming from him, considering he isn't even married yet and doesn't have any kids of his own. To be completely clear, I don't actually care what the baby is, as long as everyone is healthy and happy, but man, I would love to just shut him down. I want to look him right in the eye and tell him that I’ve officially opened "Girl Season" and from here on out, it’s nothing but daughters! Of course, I'm mostly saying that to him, because once this baby arrives, I am officially closing up shop and retiring from the whole pregnancy business. I’m currently at 12 weeks and 4 days, so we still have a little while to wait before we find out if we're welcoming a little lady or a little guy...

I really hope you get a girl! In our family, it’s actually become a bit of an urban legend because it's been boys for over three generations now... my mother-in-law is beyond disappointed...

It bugs me when everyone—from the cashier at Target to random people on the street—points at my stomach (which I don't even think is huge) and asks how much longer I've got left. I'm only halfway through the pregnancy, and suddenly I feel bloated and oversized, like they're subtly judging my size. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid 😁
Honestly, what gets under my skin more than anything else right now is this acne. I am dealing with such a massive breakout—it’s like I’ve been thrown straight back into the worst parts of puberty—and I have absolutely no clue how to fix it. Everyone keeps talking about that supposed pregnancy glow and having perfect skin, but clearly, that isn't happening for me.

She hasn't even laid a finger on my stomach once. All she does is constantly harp on about how, if Bob wills it, everything will turn out fine 🙂—and then there's the endless pressure to eat, acting like I’m going to send her some barley porridge or something instead 😂
. At this point, I know better than to count on her for anything—whether it's now or when things get really difficult down the road. Everyone looks out for themselves 🤷

Personally, I’m just happy when people leave me alone and don't ask too many questions. To be fair, my in-laws would probably meddle way more if I actually gave them something to work with; this way, they're satisfied with just the bare minimum 😁
Honestly, this whole discussion could easily be centered around mothers-in-law and pregnant women...
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Contraceptives really did the trick for me—specifically the ones with anti-androgenic properties (like Qlaira or Yasmin...). I used Logest once, and while it helped a bit, the cramps were still pretty brutal.
As for pain relief, there’s this medication in Austria called Dismenol that worked wonders for me. I don't think we have anything quite like it here in the States—correct me if I'm wrong, but does anyone know of a similar over-the-counter option?
Sex myths: What's actually true? in Women's Health ·
Alright, folks...
The odds are slim—practically zero—unless you're looking for some kind of fertility miracle.
Do yourself a favor and grab some birth control next time; it’ll save everyone a massive headache.
