So, I’ve got an employee getting hitched next week, which means her last name and address are about to change. Quick question: what’s the actual deadline for updating everything with Social Security and Medicare? If the wedding is this Saturday, do I need to jump on those changes by Friday, or am I waiting until she actually gets all her official paperwork sorted out first?
So, I’m handling the books for a company with 21 employees, which means we’re officially on the hook for those mandatory payments.
Ever since this requirement kicked in back in 2015, we haven’t been paying monthly. Instead, we just get hit with these official notices at the start of the year covering the previous year's totals. We actually did pay the X amount for a few months, but—get this—without any interest. Now, I’m getting bombarded with these notices claiming we owe interest on top of everything else.
Does anyone know how they actually calculate this interest rate, and where can I go to double-check their math?
Thanks!

Hey, I could really use some help here.
I’ve got an employee whose contract wraps up at the end of this month. He’s actually a retiree, but his benefits were temporarily suspended, so once I process his termination, he’ll be eligible to start collecting them again. Can I go ahead and file his offboarding this Friday, April 28th (effective April 30th)? Or am I stuck waiting until Tuesday, May 2nd? I’m terrified of screwing up the paperwork and messing with his benefits. Anyone been through this before?

Honestly, they might as well just cut my power and phone lines too... maybe stick an outlet in my teeth and let me get internet through a self-service provider tomorrow.😁
I guess every cloud has a silver lining, or so people say. Maybe our people are actually wise after all.😁
I am going through the exact same thing. Honestly, I’ve started getting actual anxiety just walking up to the kitchen sink or the stove. But hey, I figured out a little trick: I lean my hip against the counter first, and once I hear that satisfying little *crack*, I know it's safe to keep moving. Just the other day, I ended up spilling my whole carafe of coffee... I mean, I totally get why it happened... but there's nothing I can do about the atmosphere at the office.😛
