I’m particularly drawn to Japanese martial arts, though I suppose I wouldn't mind exploring other disciplines if the right place comes along...

So, folks, ever since I picked up this new Dell UltraSharp LCD, I've been dealing with nothing but headaches. The first issue is this: Every so often while I'm browsing the web or watching something on YouTube, the screen just goes black and throws that dreaded error message at me: Not optimum mode, recommended mode SXGA 1280 x1024 60 Hz. Even though I’m running that exact resolution, my refresh rate was set to 75 Hz, so I dropped it to 60 Hz, but honestly, that seems to make the problem even more frequent... 😕 It doesn't happen all the time, but it feels like it happens virtually every single time I try to play a game. Then there's the second issue: Sometimes the screen just blacks out entirely and the power light starts blinking incessantly. In both scenarios, I'm forced to hard reboot the machine, and when I asked the guys at the local tech shop, they insisted it's my graphics card acting up. Thirdly... whenever I try to install Stalker: Clear Sky, the whole computer just dies—it shuts down completely and won't even allow a restart until I physically pull the plug from the wall, pop it back in, and wait for it to boot itself up. I've laid out everything I can think of regarding these issues, so if anyone has any insight, I would truly appreciate the help... Thanks in advance!
