Look, I literally just asked if I could go home, you know? And they were basically like, "Sure, just sign this paper saying you're leaving on your own terms," so I signed the damn thing and walked out. No biggie, no one was pressuring me to stay or anything like that... I didn't give birth or whatever, I just ended up smashing my head against something 😁

Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion]
in Women's Health ·
So, I totally messed up and kept popping my birth control pills for eight days past when I was supposed to take a break—basically, I ended up taking thirteen tablets in a row. Now I’m spiraling because I don't know what to do! Should I just wait out seven days like normal and then start a brand new pack, or should I just skip this entire month and wait until my next period shows up?
So, I really need to get rid of this bruise/mark on my skin, right? But everyone keeps warning me that if I go through with it at a standard dermatology clinic, I’ll just end up stuck with these hideous scars, which sounds like a total nightmare. Honestly, I’m leaning towards getting it handled by a plastic surgeon instead—I feel like they actually know what they're doing. Does anyone know if I can actually get my primary doctor to write me a referral for plastic surgery?
School closures/delays?

So, I actually started school when I was only six, even though my birthday is in April, and since three other kids in my apartment building were starting that year too, my parents just kind of lumped me in with them. Honestly, back then I could already read and I was pretty much a little adult—I’d be home by myself all the time, heating up my own meals, waking myself up, the whole nine yards. Everything was totally fine through those first four grades, and I felt right at home with the older kids, but things got seriously awkward once fifth grade hit and puberty decided to show up. That one-year head start suddenly felt like a massive gap because I was physically way behind everyone else, which was honestly such a nightmare (like, I didn't even get my period until later, and my chest didn't even start developing until eighth grade), so there were definitely moments where I cursed my parents for sending me to school early, even if I don't really regret it now. And man, I still remember how much it sucked when everyone else turned sixteen and finally got permission to hang out past eleven at night while I was stuck being sent home like a little kid 😁

So, here’s my math on this whole mess: ovulation is supposed to happen within seven days after you miss a pill—assuming it even happens at all, right? In my case, it’s been four days since I totally blanked on my pill before having sex. Since sperm can hang around for about three days, there’s a legit chance I could get pregnant if I ovulate on day four, five, six, or seven. Honestly, those odds feel way higher than if it happened on day one, two, or three... at least, that’s how I’m reading the situation.
Now, I really wouldn't be spiraling quite this hard if my ovaries weren't acting up, which is usually a huge giveaway that ovulation is happening. But because of this localized aching, I just cannot chill out, and I have absolutely no clue how I’m going to make it through the next two weeks waiting for my period to show up. 😢 I’m someone who overanalyzes every single little bodily sensation, so I am freaking out big time over this screw-up. My only hope is that I didn't actually ovulate, but all these physical signs are telling me the exact opposite... 😢

So I called them, just sitting here waiting on a callback. From what I could gather, you aren't supposed to take emergency contraception if you're already on the regular pill, but honestly, I don't even know what else I'm supposed to do at this point... 😢 Plus, I totally blanked on taking my pill during the first week, which means there's a massive chance things went sideways, and my ovaries have been absolutely killing me for three days now—which might be a sign that ovulation actually happened. I haven't slept a wink all night; I seriously cannot believe I forgot about forgetting the pill and everything just hit the fan like this, especially since it's the weekend and there isn't a single gynecologist in the US open to help. 😢

Hey, so quick question—is it actually okay to take emergency contraception if I’m already on birth control pills, specifically Logest 5+5? I totally messed up and missed a pill, and then had unprotected sex during that third day of the week where you're supposed to be using extra protection. Can I even combine them?

So, what am I even supposed to do if I decide to kick these pills to the curb? What's my actual alternative then?

So, I’ve been on Lyndinett 30 for about two years now, and right at the start, I noticed these super weird mood swings happening right before my period—stuff I definitely didn't deal with before I started the pill—but I just kind of rolled with it, you know? Lately though, I’ve been feeling incredibly depressed, and honestly, I have no clue if it’s actually the pill messing with my head or if it's just life, but does it even work like that? Plus, my libido is basically non-existent... it's tragic. Looking at all the stuff you guys are listing here is making me totally paranoid about switching brands, but at the same time, the idea of just stopping the pill altogether scares the hell out of me. I’m stuck in this total limbo and don't know what to do. Is it even possible for things to suddenly start hitting you like this after you've already been on them for two years?
