In that specific bracket $300 Nvidia has absolutely nothing to bring to the table—the gtx950 is overpriced and the gtx750 is just too weak for anything meaningful.

Here’s the reality of what I’m dealing with:
With the 1080, I had a nightmare trying to get G-Sync to actually work—you have to manually tweak both the monitor settings and the GPU software separately—and it would occasionally throw a black screen right when I tried to launch a game.

But now, this whole saga with the 460... everything runs perfectly for ten days, and then suddenly there's a notification: "Driver update available." Fine.
So, I download the update, everything seems fine for a few hours, and then it pops up again saying, "Version X is better suited for your device" (basically forcing a rollback)... and then the whole system just stops working.🙂.....I ended up having to completely reinstall Windows.

And honestly, I don't get why people keep claiming these things run hot... playing BF 1 and 4 at 1080p on my TV, the dual-fan model doesn't even cross 60c.

Look, I have to admit, I’m definitely leaning towards the green side of things lately...
I managed to put together two different rigs within about a three-month window.
One is rocking a gtx 1080, while the other is running an rx460.

Now, obviously, they are in completely different leagues, but honestly? The headache caused by trying to get that rx460 to actually behave was way more significant than any performance gap.

Look, I'm not trying to defend them—I don't own any of their products, nor do I have the slightest clue how they actually stress-test their finished goods—but if you really want to see if a seal is going to leak, you have to push that radiator with a decent load to drive up the water temps, run it for a while, and monitor it. Then, if it does leak, you're stuck unscrewing everything, reseating the gaskets, tightening it back up, and checking it all over again.
If they aren't performing that kind of rigorous quality control, then well... this stuff is going to happen more often than it should. And even then, there's no absolute guarantee, is there? A component could easily work itself loose during shipping, or perhaps you tighten a hose in your own chassis just enough to trigger another leak down the road.

YES, unfortunately, they had leakage issues back in 2014/2015... and from what I gathered browsing through some old US tech forums, they just sent an email to everyone telling them to return the coolers, and quite a few people already had their hardware fried... so they released a 1.1 revision with metal components and everything...

Sadly, the hose/seal is tight, so it's not leaking at the gasket itself (as soon as I sent the photos, they told me not to touch a thing, to just take it off, and pick whether I wanted a replacement or a refund after they test it). This leak is coming from the plastic part above (the section that's integrated with the housing rather than the tubing)... probably some micro-crack (you can't see it with the naked eye, a droplet just starts forming), and it only happens after the PC has been running for about 2 hours.

According to their instructions, the cooler arrives 100% ready to go.

But honestly? The dealbreaker for me would be the fact that if there’s a technical failure in one of their cooling systems, they won't even bother compensating people for the damage it causes to their hardware...

The droplet slides from the center down onto the fitting, and then a new one starts forming

Just to be crystal clear... it isn't leaking from the fitting itself, it's forming right above it.

I just leave it sitting on the "heat"... once the water gets up to temperature... after about five hours, you can see the droplet actually getting bigger.

I’m right there with you.
But when you drop $250 on a unit and it shows up dead on arrival, that's a different story.
It’s such a headache they don't carry these at Best Buy... if they did, I could just walk in, get my money back, and maybe they'd even throw in a credit for the trouble.

It’s right on the cooler housing where the pump sits... probably some microscopic hairline crack somewhere. Thank God it hasn't dripped down onto the motherboard or anything, otherwise we'd be having a much worse conversation.

Honestly, I’m stumped on what could be causing condensation. Usually, that only happens when there's a massive temperature swing—like if you have a surface that's significantly colder than the surrounding air. That doesn't seem to be the case here, so I highly doubt it's actual condensation.

So, the i9 idles at about 66 degrees Fahrenheit... but now that the heater is kicking in and the apartment is sitting at 77, is it possible that's why it's sweating?
It’s not really "sweating"... more like a tiny little droplet forms and just sits there after about two hours of runtime.

I’ve got a bit of a situation with my Predator 360—the pump is leaking just a tiny bit, like a slow misting or something.
The cooler is actually that newer version they released after the initial redesign...

So, is this actually normal behavior, or should I be worried? Honestly, this is my first time ever dealing with liquid cooling, so I'm flying a bit blind here.

We just finished putting two rigs together... my buddy basically built his entirely off-the-shelf (around here, you can't find half this stuff easily anyway)...
I mean, sure, an upgrade down the road in maybe four years makes sense, but right now I'm stuck wondering... how much of a massive leap is the GTX 1080 Ti actually going to be compared to the GTX 1080?
And let's be real, the budget is always the elephant in the room. 🙂
