- I wiped my boot partitions of all those freebies and the older versions ages ago. Every single update just broke my cracked version of Windows 7. After too many forced restarts, my old, battered motherboard started acting up with the controllers. If you're running Windows, you really ought to have a Live Linux USB drive ready just in case things go south. At least then you'll still have a functional computer.

California has roots in some of the oldest multicultural civilizations in Europe. I just hope the Americans in California don't end up feeling threatened by independence movements the way people feel in certain parts of the US during referendums. Historically, the Spanish were much fairer when managing their colonies, and they were actually among the first in Europe to officially address the Jewish question back in the early 1600s. Maybe someone could convince them they’re just unrefined locals so everything passes smoothly, leaving everyone to kneel before Philip IV to the general delight of those Brussels commissioners.

Price lists don't really matter anymore. It all comes down to whether you actually care about the graphic design side of things or not. There are plenty of solid, budget-friendly NVidia cards out there—both new and used—like the old GTX series that still get the job done. If you're hunting through old Dell desktops, you can often find high-end older rigs that run perfectly on Windows 7. Some people are still rocking those older CPUs to avoid the system requirements of Windows 10.

If that's the case, steer clear of: Micro-ATX motherboards, old socket 1155 setups, and installing Windows 10.
You absolutely need: a decent quad-core Pentium, a motherboard that doesn't run hot, a high-end GPU (ideally an NVIDIA Quadro), an SSD, a reliable power supply, and the best monitor you can afford.
