Lawrence Reed3 said:So, I just added my AirCash card as a payment method for my Xfinity TV subscription... I used to just use my standard checking account, but I decided to switch things up. Anyway, while I was updating the info with the AirCash account, they pulled $1 from it—I guess it was some kind of system test to verify the card? The thing is, that dollar hasn't popped back into my balance yet! I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this before, and maybe—if you know—how long I should probably wait for it to show up again?

Hey, look, you aren't getting that money back. That's just a standard card authorization charge. If you go into your profile settings under linked cards, it’ll show you that once the authorization clears, that amount gets credited right back to your digital wallet. So, don't sit around waiting for a refund 😛 just toss another couple bucks in there and enjoy your shows 😛 🙂
So I picked up a Cash App card at a 7-Eleven today.
Got the app set up and logged in.
But I didn't snap a photo of my ID...
Why the hell do they even need that?

Anyway.
I've got some cash I want to load onto the card.
Where do I go?
And now it's asking me to activate the card.
What’s that supposed to mean?[/QUOTE

Look, most of the time I just dump money into Cash App straight from my debit card, but if you're strictly carrying paper, you can always hit up a convenience store to load it.
That activation thing? It's basically just identity verification. They gotta make sure you aren't some underage kid or some scammer using a fake name to dodge the law.
1. I’ve been using PayPal via Cash App for a little while now, but then—out of nowhere—Mastercard blocked me from updating my card info on PayPal for no apparent reason... Am I totally off base if I suggest that PayPal and Mastercard just don't get along? It feels like there's some friction there—even though they told me my account was in excellent standing on the PayPal side... I’ve used Visa without a single hiccup, yet it seems like people are constantly running into issues when they try using Mastercard

2. If my plan is to just load cash onto Cash App specifically for online shopping—since it's essentially a prepaid setup—is anyone going to come knocking on my door? I'm not talking about massive amounts here... just maybe $100–$200 a month

3. When you go to close an account, does the balance need to be at exactly zero?

Many thanks

Hey, I can't say for sure on that first one. I don't think it's some weird vendetta between PayPal and Mastercard; works perfectly fine for me. I've never had PayPal or any other service give me grief using a Mastercard. As for your second question, nobody's going to bother you. You're just making regular purchases. Honestly, using a Cash App card is actually safer than using your main bank card anyway.

When you close the account, you've got the option to transfer whatever's left back to your bank account. You just gotta hit up their support via email with your banking details to sort it out. A buddy of mine closed his once, but he ended up opening a new Cash App account later. You can always do that too.

You can totally do that. You'll just need their transfer details—basically their routing number and account info. Just hit them up and ask for those specifics. Once you pull the trigger, the cash usually hits their account by the next business day or maybe the day after.🙂

Jamie Mitchell2 said:I’m honestly just sitting here scratching my head. So, I went to this place and dropped 200 bucks on some Aetna gift cards—four of them at 50 bucks each—mostly because this lady refused to take straight cash for a direct deposit. She basically swore up and down that all I had to do was type the codes from the cards right into the Cash App.
But now I’m staring at my phone like... how the hell am I actually supposed to do that?
Did I seriously just screw myself over here?

Your best bet is to just hit up Customer Service. They'll walk you through the whole thing in two seconds.

Yeah, you can. Just hit the deposit option and select bank transfer; all the details you need should be right there. You’ll just have to plug in the routing number, account number, and whatever reference code they give you when you're setting up the payment from your bank app. Easy enough.🙂

James Collins31 said:I’m dying to know who actually runs PayPal? Like, when I go through the registration process, who am I really handing all my private data over to?

Look, you’re giving the data to PayPal. They’ve got the official license from the Federal Reserve to handle electronic money. 🙂

mistyorca132 said:I see they’re only taking dollars now, so I was wondering—if I want to get rid of my old cash at the corner bodega, how does that even work?

Do I have to figure out the exchange rate myself and tell them the dollar amount just to hand the guy some old bills... or what?

Exactly. You calculate the dollar amount, generate the code, and just give the lady at the counter your cash. 🙂

Sent from my iPhone using Twitter

Look, I used mine both yesterday and today and everything’s running smooth... even when I was just grabbing a bus pass earlier. Tried tapping my old VISA first and the machine just gave me an error message, total headache. But then I pulled out my American Express and it went through instantly. No drama.🙂

frozenstag59 said:It finally went through. I had to force close the app, and then the payment just kind of processed on its own

First time I've ever run into an issue with a transaction.
I really hope this is just a one-off fluke...

Honestly, it was probably just a momentary hiccup—either some flaky Wi-Fi or a banking lag. I always use my Visa when I pay and everything goes smooth, but you know how it is... sometimes the connection just dies on you. :/

analogdriver21 said:I finally got it running, but man, it’s a slow burn. First, I just get stuck staring at that red splash screen with the logo. I have to let it sit for about a minute, then force close the app and relaunch it—I usually have to do that two or three times before anything happens. Then it asks for my fingerprint, and after that, I'm just sitting there for another three or four minutes waiting for the app to actually load 😵.
Once it finally opens, though, everything seems to work fine.
Maybe you could try clearing your cache...

That happened to me once too, even with other apps. It’s almost always a cache issue... 🙂

Honestly, it all just comes down to which bank you’re using and what kind of card you’ve got in your wallet. I personally run both a Visa and a Maestro. With the Visa, I never deal with any of this headache, but that Maestro? It’s always giving me trouble...

Can an American citizen living outside the USA open an American Airlines account if they still have a valid ID?

Yeah, you can. The main thing is just having a valid US document. Since you're an American citizen, you've got the paperwork, so you should be good to go.

Just keep in mind, to unlock all the bells and whistles with American Airlines, you'll need standard US docs—like a driver's license, passport, or a residency permit.

Hey there, I just had surgery on my breasts and the scarring is pretty intense... how much does St. John's Wort oil actually do for scars? And how long am I looking at using it before I see any real results? Thanks a ton

Ronald Green5 said:Is it actually possible to fund a Binance account using PayPal? I mean, does anyone here actually do that?

It’s pretty much a rule of thumb at this point—anywhere that takes a Mastercard, you can just swipe your PayPal card and call it a day. Simple as that.

So, I reached out to their support team. Here’s what they sent back! 🙂

To move cash straight from your mobile banking app into your PayPal wallet or card, just open the PayPal app, hit "Deposit," and select "Bank Account" as your method.
On the "Bank Account" screen, you'll see an account number and routing number you need to plug into your mobile banking app to get those funds moved over to your PayPal wallet.
Alternatively, you can just scan the barcode provided within the app using your banking app to trigger the transfer.
If you get the transfer in by 3:00 PM, the money should show up in your PayPal wallet by the next business day. If it's later than that, expect it the following business day.
