Personally, I think Game of Thrones is actually better this season than usual; it's evolved into this heavy but entertaining kind of trash, at least they aren't dragging things out forever like they used to. Narcos is great, Fargo is great, even if that last season felt a bit lackluster.
Are you kidding me? A show where Tom Hardy eats a hard-boiled egg in one single bite can't possibly be bad. One damn bite, man. Seriously. 😁
neonfalcon16 said:Absolutely. I can still see it all perfectly. The harpoon through the heart, the radio in the bathroom... even that whole bit about being trapped in a coffin. 😍
Oh man, if I remember right, Gilda ended up in jail and messed with this old doctor. He helped her escape and they hid out at his cabin, where she told him to hop in the tub while she went to grab something—then she just shoved the radio in after him. 🙏 Then she went looking for the cash and ended up finding it tucked inside her mattress. 🙏

That was probably the first soap opera where you could actually believe the romance was real. Back in the day, nothing ever got missed during those afternoon marathons.
Then you had the major networks blasting shows like Pasion de, Norma, Ximena, and Sara—you know, that whole mess with three sisters getting tangled up with three brothers. After that, nov kreniti hit the airwaves, featuring that powerhouse duo Saul Lisazo and Gabriel, and don't even get me started on the legendary uklet Mariana. Pure gold.
But honestly? čarolija iznad sav still takes the cake. Just that Life clinic vibe and that killer opening theme. 😍
Yeah, Magic was something else. I basically lived that show—I’d watch it normally on Monday nights, catch the recording around lunchtime on Tuesday, and then spend Saturday mornings rewatching the whole week's worth of episodes. I ended up seeing every single episode three times. 🙏
Anyone catch "I'll Always Love You"? That one with Gilda, Mauricio, and the rest of the crew. A total classic. 👍

One person thinks Homeland is garbage, another calls Taboo trash... we're never going to agree on anything. 👍 😁
Why’s that? Honestly, maybe I just think it’s great because I haven’t seen many other shows with this vibe—the closest thing I've found would be a well-developed HBO drama, which is actually next on my watchlist. But why do people say Homeland is trash?
Oh, wait, I see you guys have only watched two seasons. The show really hits its stride later on. ☕
Robert Torres said:Judging by all the ups and downs in these threads and the constant back-and-forth references, there are a ton of ASOIAF fans hanging out here. It makes me wonder if anyone actually sat through those last few episodes of Game of Thrones? I've heard they're absolute fire, like... legendary level...
Personally, I checked out after season four. The way they were butchering the source material felt like a straight punch to the gut. So now I'm curious—is what we've seen lately actually that mind-blowing and unexpected that it could satisfy even the hardcore readers who can't stand the show? Is it worth spoiling the books if anyone even bothers reading them, or is it still just that same overhyped, boring train wreck that HBO’s flagship always seemed to be...
I don't know, personally? Not really.
To answer your question: no. But you should still watch it just because it's a massive hit. For me, the show is overrated; it's fine, but it's definitely not the life-changing masterpiece everyone claims it is.
I know it's a totally different vibe, but shows like Homeland and Billions are fantastic. Then again, Taboo and Narcos are on a whole other level. I'm taking a break from everything right now, but I just wanted to mention it so nobody misses out if they love great TV.
So, I really want this handle

I was born on August 27, 1996—so I'll be turning 21 soon enough.
In Zambia, Chad, Lesotho, Guinea, Bahrain, and a few other places in the USA, you're still considered a minor.
That was clearly his plan all along. Before yesterday, he was a total nobody, but as soon as he went after poor Lydia, the local news outlets started blowing his name up. So yeah, literally zero people knew who he was twenty-four hours ago, and now at least a couple hundred folks have heard of him. They don't really know his deal yet, but they definitely know he targeted Lydia.
Justice for Lydia. 👍
Look, I actually kind of agree with whatever theory that guy was pushing, but I don't get why he’s picking on her. It’s not like I’m obsessed with her body—I wouldn't even date someone like her 🙂 (honestly, am I a saint or just not interested?), but this is America and she’s working within a very specific niche. In that world, you aren't going to make it big by being some legendary singer like Adele or Bruce Springsteen; you win by showing off what you've got, and she’s smart enough to know how to monetize her look. I really don't see why he's so worked up about it. 🤷
Is anyone else following this whole media meltdown between Taylor Swift and some random guy? 🤣
Who does that clown think he is? He just started attacking her out of nowhere, acting like she somehow personally wronged him. 🤷
He’s clearly just trying to flex his "intellectual superiority" by picking on someone like Taylor. 🙏
Since I basically consider myself the resident expert on shark fan films around here, I figured I should let you all know that "47 Meters Down" just dropped.
Honestly, if Zoki were here, he’d just stroll up to the press conference and coolly drop a "No pasaran" on them.☕
Man, I bet 🤣 he’s been waiting years for this exact moment just so he can finally lean in and say, "I told you so." 🤣
When it comes to our foreign policy and diplomacy, we're just struggling. Part of the problem is that the system is packed with these elite insiders—basically just the kids of powerful families who have never actually worked a day in their lives. They couldn't run a lemonade stand, let alone a major agency, but their dads just hold their hands through law school and hand them a high-level government job on a silver platter. Eventually, that kind of incompetence always catches up to us.
Well, we definitely took a hit there. Now we just have to see what Andrew does—whether he actually sticks to his guns or folds under pressure from the White House. ☕
Quick off-topic question—I know most of you probably aren't experts here, but I figured I’d ask anyway. Does anyone have a recommendation for a really good coffee maker? I honestly don't know the first thing about them, so I'm flying blind. Budget isn't an issue; I just want something high-quality. From what I've heard, people aren't exactly raving about those Keurig machines.

So, was he a villain? Sure. Did people get to go to the beach? Yeah. Was there work? Yep. Was the economy solid? You bet. Could you actually get a house? You could.
I mean, yeah, he killed a bunch of people... but nobody's perfect, right?
Just being sarcastic, so don't take it personally. 🤣
James Anderson5 said:Exactly. And if we’re talking about party lines, when was the last time someone actually saw a fair hiring process for a major entity like ConEd, a federal agency, or any big state-run corporation—especially one that wasn't just pre-arranged for a specific person?
We could easily be talking about political hit jobs too, if you look at how people like those high-profile news commentators have been handled...
It's the same old story, just different faces. Almost everyone from the old Democratic or Republican establishment back in the day just shifted parties in the 90s, yet they've held onto power for the last 27 years. Now, some of them are attacking historical figures just to dodge the real, dangerous issues. It's like living in a real-life House of Cards...🤣
Man, they really missed the mark here. If we were talking about street names or town squares, Paul Sanders5, ruggedjackal46, and Peter Thompson4 probably would've been arguing about arbitration or that big corporate restructuring case instead. Guess old-school politics really messed things up for them. 😁
Sure, it’s a distraction in some ways, but if you follow that logic, you basically kill any conversation that isn't about the budget, school reforms, or some legal dispute. It feels a little paranoid to me—kind of like watching CNN when pundits from both parties just spend the whole time accusing each other of dodging the real issues.
Everything seems to be an issue lately—whether it's the debt crisis at companies like ExxonMobil or even just renaming a local street corner. Honestly, I think people find it easier to argue about figures like JFK. It’s such a simple debate: half the country loves him, the other half thinks he was a disaster. You get five reasons to love him and five reasons to hate him, and everyone picks a side and starts shouting. People who actually study history look at the bigger picture, while everyone else just sticks to their gut. But when you start talking about massive corporate bankruptcies or international trade litigation? Most people won't touch that because you actually have to understand economics or global law to have an opinion.
I don't think anyone’s life is going to get better or worse because of what they rename the square, but we should probably just clear the air and move on.
ruggedjackal46 said:It’s just lovely how they haven’t scrubbed every single street sign, as if nothing happened between 1941 and 1991 in this country. I suppose it's because the U.S. hasn't officially disavowed its anti-fascist legacy. But make no mistake, they certainly wiped most of those old-school partisan names off the maps.
I don't know if you realize it, but as a worker today, you enjoy way more benefits than your ancestors ever did. I highly doubt you'd actually want to travel back in time to experience the "glories" of the old regime you're so busy mourning. What I can't wrap my head around is your logic: is it really okay to suppress, exile, or imprison people based on their political views just to make life easier for those who fall in line with the party?
Thanks so much for enlightening me about the wonderful privileges of our modern system. Please, why don't you go tell the employees at Walmart, Amazon, or all those other corporate sweatshops how much "better" their lives are compared to living in a political prison cell? But hey, at least we live in an era where you're allowed to vent on a forum or Facebook without being hauled off, right?
☕
Yeah, it was pretty sneaky how Mike automatically suggested naming it Liberty Square, because let’s be honest—who’s actually going to argue with that? 🤣
They really should have held a referendum to see if people even wanted to rename it, and then give them a few different options to choose from.
Also, can one of the mods please reset the password for Keith Miller30 and DM it to me? ☕
Keith Miller30 here. Honestly, I’m glad they're changing the name because the old one was pretty inappropriate, and I’ve always felt that guy was a criminal. My issue isn't with the change itself—I would've voted yes in a heartbeat if we'd had a choice—it's just how it was handled. It feels like a total power move by the administration without actually asking any of us what we think. A referendum should have been the way to go.
Now, I bet someone "sensible" will step up and complain about how much a referendum costs. Funny how nobody ever complains when millions of taxpayer dollars are being blown on fancy multimedia rooms, new iPhones, or government SUVs. ☕
