Anyone used a Chromecast? in IT Support ·
Carl Booth17 said:They say you can wirelessly connect your laptop to the TV using that Chromecast
I am somewhat confused regarding how the television actually receives the signal from that Chromecast, I mean, would I perhaps need to purchase an additional receiver for the TV just to pick up the signal coming from the Chromecast

Well, the device has a male HDMI plug, so you just plug it directly into the TV.
Chrome extensions not working on Windows XP in IT Support ·
From what I can gather, it seems like you're having some trouble getting Flash Player to load properly. Perhaps you might want to try updating it? Or, if that doesn't work, maybe using Mozilla Firefox could be an alternative approach.
Where can I find a good converter? in IT Support ·
I suppose you could just open a PDF file directly within Word... if you go to File, then Open, and just locate the PDF there. It should handle the conversion automatically, and then you can simply save it as a standard Word document. I am referring to the more recent versions, though, I guess... I am not entirely sure if that works for something as old as the 2004 version.

I’ve got four pieces here: two USB connectors with three holes each, plus those two ground jacks.
Looking at this manual, where am I supposed to plug these in?

Is that diagram meant for the connectors themselves, or is it specifically for YOUR motherboard?
Well, if it is indeed for YOUR specific motherboard, then I suppose those circled parts are what you need, but if it isn't... then maybe you should try to find the actual user manual for your particular motherboard and check the section detailing the expansion slots.
It is a bit difficult to tell for sure because of how standard the slot looks, almost like you are trying to connect a USB port or something.

if you look at some more affordable retailers.

So, for the GTX 1050 Ti, I should probably expect $500, which sounds quite 🤦
Roger Gray8 said:So, I’ve got this old-school Phillips 190s 5:4 monitor sitting here, and I was trying to hook it up to one of my older desktop rigs, but the VGA input is acting totally possessed, you know? It keeps constantly auto-adjusting and syncing like crazy, plus it’s stuck in some weird DEMO mode where half the screen shows one effect and the other half is just... off, which is super annoying. I took it down to the local repair shop and the guy there thinks the DVI port might actually be fine, so he suggested it would probably be way easier to just grab a $13 DVI cable instead of hunting around for a used monitor elsewhere

In my experience, if the VGA port is failing but the DVI input is still intact, then yes, it should work. If the issue is strictly limited to the input itself and not the internal components of the monitor, then switching to DVI would likely solve it.

-.- It takes literally a split second of searching on Google
If you just head over to your Chrome bookmarks, there is actually a button right there labeled "Import and backup"
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
Larry Ortiz5 said:Well, that power supply should hold up just fine, honestly. A 7750 or even a 7770 aren't exactly huge power hogs. Personally, though, I probably wouldn't opt for that specific unit because, unless I'm just going blind here, I don't see any 80+ rating mentioned anywhere 😁. If it were me, I’d look at this instead:

I suppose I was looking through all those different deals and I completely forgot to check the efficiency ratings... and yeah, I missed the fact that there isn't an 80+ label
. Anyway, I took a look at the one you suggested and it seems decent enough, except for the fact that it shows 36A on the 12V rail? Is it possible the max is actually 20A on the 12V line? Also, if we do the math, 36*12 equals 432, which feels a bit... well, silly
. I guess I have just one more question: Is it actually better to pick up a power supply that has a single 12V rail versus one with multiple rails (like 12V1, 12V2)?
I think I read somewhere that having more rails might allow for more power delivery, assuming the individual 12V rail is limited to 20A. So, if I end up with a power supply that has two 12V rails, does that mean I get two cables? And would one go to the motherboard while the other just sits there as decoration? 🤷
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
I was wondering if someone might be able to recommend a decent power supply unit up to $133 ($183 max)?
I’ve been looking at this one: ANTEC VP450P EC 450w, which I saw over at Best Buy priced at $120.
Just to give some context, I suppose I am planning on using a 65W TDP processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 (or maybe a 7770 if I find the extra cash lying around unexpectedly)

I think my brain just functions on some weirdly delayed frequency or something. Like, I’ll be right in the middle of a conversation or a teacher will ask me a question, and suddenly my mind just goes completely blank. It's frustrating, honestly. But then, maybe a few days later, out of nowhere, it hits me—it's like FEMA or something suddenly delivers the answer to my doorstep long after the deadline passed. WTF is wrong with my brain?
