How am I supposed to expect people to get me, when I can't even figure myself out? 🤔

But like you mentioned, change is the only way forward—it's just that the first step feels like trying to climb Everest. Time isn't going to magically arrive on your doorstep while you wait; the moment has to be now. You have to start implementing those small shifts, especially the ones you listed. For me, I can manage the reading, the learning, and the workouts, but the social aspect is my Achilles' heel because I don't have a circle of friends right now. I know I need to actually step out into the world to meet anyone, but man, it's hard. Still, we can't throw in the towel. We only get one shot at this life; we can't spend the whole thing paralyzed by fear.

I have plenty of "friends," sure, but none of them are actually sincere or even try to understand me. Instead, they just judge and gossip, acting like I'm some bad person when I'm the exact opposite. Fear is the ultimate handicap, isn't it? And how are you even supposed to overcome it? I try to make changes every single day, but it feels like I'm just spinning my wheels and nothing is actually getting better...

I honestly think there’s a link between those two things and there might be a way to work through it, but you hit the nail on the head... is it even worth stripping away a part of yourself—one that I personally find useful and positive—just to chase some kind of emotional stability?

I lost my way a long time ago. Honestly, I don't even know what's right or wrong anymore. It's the people closest to me that mess with my head the most; I don't even feel comfortable or safe around them, let alone anyone else. How are you supposed to find yourself and put yourself first when everyone else is constantly dictating how you should live your life? It makes being happy or satisfied feel impossible. I catch myself wondering why I can't just be my own person, independent and content. It’s all tied to everything I've been through and the life I've led up to this point. Changing that isn't easy. I'm seeing a professional who actually advised me to come here and talk to people who get it. They keep telling me I'm just spinning my wheels in this endless loop of insecurity, depression, and anxiety. Even now, as I'm typing this, I'm second-guessing everything—am I writing this right? Will people misinterpret me? How will I even be perceived? I've completely lost my sense of how to communicate because I'm just so insecure. I've totally shut myself off.

I just miss hanging out—really hanging out—and more specifically, I miss finding quality people to spend time with. Why is it like this? How did we get here? It’s hard to pin down, but it feels like everyone has become so incredibly selfish and isolated lately; nobody seems willing to give anyone else a fair shake anymore. If there is one thing I can tell you with absolute certainty, though, it's this: don't you dare let anyone treat you poorly.

Exactly! We’re missing genuine people. You talk to someone and they either give you a weird look or start gossiping about you behind your back—which is something I am totally fed up with. If you're going to do that, why call yourself a "friend" in the first place? You end up walking on eggshells because you never know what might be twisted or taken out of context. It's pathetic. People have become so shady, rude, and just plain mean-spirited.😠🕺

My daily life is just one long struggle with depression, fear, and anxiety. I’m way too sensitive—everything gets under my skin and drives me crazy. It's a constant battle, honestly, and I have no clue how to break free from this cycle. But you know what the therapists say? They tell you to "make changes," read more books, cook, exercise, and force yourself to socialize even when the anxiety makes you want to hide. They claim if you just meet enough new people, eventually you'll find 🙂🙂🙂🙂. Well, I’m trying every single thing they suggest, but the willpower just isn't there, and it feels like my breakthrough is never coming 😢
