Not really. It's an older model—definitely a step down from the ones you were looking at earlier.

Could you let me know which motherboard and power supply you're running with? Also, what kind of games are we talking about—and at what resolution are you trying to play them?
Mouse and USB drive issues in Computer Peripherals ·
That sounds like a solid plan—go ahead and boot it up so you can start testing things out 😉

Is this happening just with that mouse and joystick, or does it affect everything you plug in?

It’s possible your USB drivers have gotten a bit scrambled and are acting up. Personally, I think the easiest way to troubleshoot this would be to grab any kind of Ubuntu Live CD and boot from it—just to see if the issue persists there. To me, that feels like the most straightforward way to figure out whether we're looking at a hardware failure or just a glitch within macOS 😉
(and honestly, don't let the idea of Linux scare you off—live distributions won't touch your hard drive, so it's pretty much impossible to mess anything up 😉 ))

What kind of setup are you running? Have you tried plugging the mouse and the stick into some different USB ports yet?

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess we're looking at a SATA drive here. For instance, take something like Spira Gigapod 🙂
How to clean a SteelSeries QcK? in Computer Peripherals ·
So, I’m currently using a Logitech G Pro. From what I understand, the SteelSeries QcK is essentially the direct equivalent 🙂
. Regarding upkeep—it's pretty straightforward; I just give it a quick dusting 😁 like you would a rug, pick it up, and shake out the debris. As for dealing with oils or grime, I actually gave mine a full wash once—just used a cloth, a bit of mild soap, scrubbed it down, rinsed it off, and let it dry. Honestly, I don't think it lost any of its performance whatsoever 😁

So, are we talking IDE or SATA? And should you be looking at a 2.5" drive or the beefier 3.5" variety?
What kind of interface are we aiming for here—USB, FireWire, eSATA, or maybe some modern USB 3.0?

In my opinion, the bigger headache isn't going to be keeping the processor cool—it’s going to be finding a power supply capable of actually feeding that GPU enough juice while also managing the heat it pumps out...

Sure thing, no problem at all. My only real hesitation is the NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450—I just don't think it's worth your hard-earned cash right now. It’s still sitting at a bit of a premium price point, actually costing more than the AMD Radeon HD 5770, yet you end up dealing with higher power draw and more heat under load. Honestly, you're better off grabbing the Radeon or just hanging tight for a little while until the prices on the NVIDIA GeForce GTS cards finally drop.

That EVGA GTX 480 that smartic mentioned is actually a solid choice.
If he decides to step up to a more powerful graphics card, though, he’s going to need a much beefier power supply—honestly, if he tries to run anything high-end on that Codegen unit, it'll probably just give up the ghost right when he needs it most. 😉
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
Look, if you just look at the raw numbers, it seems like it should be able to handle the load—but honestly, given the price tag and the fact that there’s absolutely zero documentation available on this power supply, I’m having a hard time trusting its quality...

It’s a bit of an older card—I’d say it sits right around the same level as the Radeon HD 4850. Personally, I feel like the price tag is a little steep, though I have to admit, there isn't much else out there right now that makes sense for your money at that specific price point.
The power supply is top-notch.

Honestly, there isn't anything here worth picking up. Even if you go with $150, you're still going to have to put in a massive amount of playtime just to see any real value. If I were in your shoes, I’d probably just grab some cheap, entry-level setup—maybe even something used to save a few bucks—and then tuck that extra cash away for something actually worthwhile later on.
Something like a new 4350 or a similar model.

It definitely exists. Usually, the bundle itself differs—and you'll often find the cooling solutions aren't even the same. Sometimes they come factory overclocked, while other times they might be running on a completely different PCB layout...

Not necessarily. I suspect you aren't even working at anything higher than 1080p resolution—and honestly, you’d need to be pushing much higher specs before you’d actually notice a meaningful difference in memory overhead between 512 MB and 1 GB.
And let’s not forget that on those budget-friendly cards, manufacturers often cut corners by using slower memory modules for the 1 GB models—think DDR2 instead of the faster GDDR3...

Henry Kelly40 said:Alright, so I was wondering—is this a decent graphics card? An ATI Radeon HD4350 512MB.

Personally, I think it’s perfectly fine for my setup—it basically just sits in the server and handles the display output.

What are you actually planning to use it for, and what does the rest of your rig look like? It would be a huge help if you could provide some details—there's really no point in guessing without knowing the full specs first...

No way! Avoid the 465 at all costs—it’s a total dud. It actually performs slower than the 460, yet somehow manages to pull way more power and run much hotter in the process. Seriously, just steer clear of that one!
GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
Why would you even consider the 260 at such a steep price point when the 460 delivers significantly better performance—and honestly, costs way less? 🤷
