If they already made the political call that Spinut is the best spot without holding a broad discussion with the local residents, then they should have stuck to their guns instead of playing these PR games and stalling with "Plan B" excuses.
It was obvious from the jump that the Republican Party trash would weaponize the Spinut issue to stir up trouble, so the communication should have been much tighter from day one. Instead, these clumsy PR types have backed both Ivica Puljak and Ivošević into a corner, turning public opinion against them.
Ivica Puljak needs to start thinking for himself because, in this instance, the PR team clearly played a decisive and poor role. It looks like they are still forcing their own narrative instead of just listening and finding a middle ground everyone can live with. I'm not a fan of this approach.
I honestly don't think you're helping Ivica Puljak with comments like these; he isn't an idiot who just lets his PR team dictate everything to him. Look, Ivica Puljak isn't my candidate, but I don't have a problem with my first choice—which happens to be a literal dumping ground. If he had just stood his ground and sought broader support from the rest of the city, I think he would have found it. I live over in the Mertojak area in Odessa, so I can tell you straight up: it won't smell any worse than your average trash bin. I'm actually looking forward to them burying the bins underground; if they don't stink in Komiža during the peak of summer, they certainly won't stink here in Mertojak.
