What a complete joke of a city... honestly, what would even happen if someone actually had a little bit of momentum for once...

They should just plant a couple of trees at every government building and send the staff home... permanently.

I don't know, I guess I'm just sitting here waiting for something to actually happen, though knowing how things usually go, we'll probably just be staring at the same old mess indefinitely.

The first phase focuses on renovating the Rose Bowl itself. I suppose that's probably the most logical way to handle the stadium situation. We're looking at refurbishing the reinforced concrete structure, the roof, the outer ring, the track, the lighting, and the sound system. Renovations should ideally kick off in the second quarter of next year, with costs estimated somewhere between $35 and $45 million, likely funded by both the city and the state. Of course, securing that funding will be the trickiest part of the whole endeavor.

The second phase involves expanding the facility's amenities. This would cover parking, additional training fields, academy spaces, and a third facility located beneath the West Stand—essentially making the Rose Bowl area a fully functional sports hub for the city. Construction is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2025.

The third phase is the City Project. The goal here is to build a new stadium for the Los Angeles Dodgers, alongside a convention center, a business district, and municipal housing for long-term rentals. Work would start in early 2026, with a target completion date set for the 2027 Olympic Games. Funding would be a joint effort between the city, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and private partners. It’s an incredibly ambitious roadmap, though I suppose it isn't entirely out of the question if they want to ensure the Los Angeles Dodgers can compete at a high level and maintain long-term stability.

Well, there it is. The beginning of the end.

If we’re going to give organizations those special discounted rates, they can just take whatever space is left on the far outskirts of the city—you know, out by the industrial zones or the edge of town. If there isn't any room available way out there, then too bad, they just don't get a spot.

We should just penalize these organizations by making sure that if anyone holding a position—even just a basic member—is involved, they’re completely cut off from any kind of government funding or subsidies. If we actually did that, these groups would finally start being careful about who they let through the door, instead of everyone running to pull the same shady stunts over and over again just to collect a paycheck until they retire.

Think about how much the U.S. Coast Guard—or even local volunteer rescue squads—has saved hikers lost in the woods wearing flip-flops, or all those people wandering off trails, or even during flood rescues and stuff like that. That’s why the whole situation with the national agency is just stupid. They basically earned it.

The search and rescue teams are volunteers.

I guess when you have enough other problems to deal with in life, war somehow ends up being a secondary concern...

Folks, this is just an article using bolded text to manufacture as much drama as possible... honestly, it feels like reading a description of Zora...

John Cornyn has lived quite a life, I suppose, but things are finally starting to show his other side... first the political maneuvering, and now he's looking for a cheap apartment...

Just so we’re clear on one thing, though—a disability is a disability, there’s no such thing as an "ex-disabled" person.
Is he collecting caregiver assistance for someone else?
Does he actually have a disabled parking permit?

If he earned himself an apartment, or maybe two, then fine, let him have them, but not if it's built on a lie... it's just pathetic...

We could easily bump up those 22 drivers' salaries by about $150 gross just by cutting two director advisors from the payroll.
If they can't manage it with seven advisors instead of nine, then they should probably find someone who actually knows how to balance a budget.
The same logic should apply to all the other operational staff, really.
Anyway, looking at these ridiculous numbers, it’s funny how all those big-shot types from the local Democratic Party elites end up working down in San Francisco anyway.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6e4db0390a.jpg

$2647 if you really want to get technical about how much you're supposedly "stealing" $233 on an annual basis...
And that includes all the regular hours, shifts, and overtime... plus probably claiming those childcare credits, commuting expenses, and tax-free meal allowances...
Like I said, it’s nothing to dream about... just turn down everything outside your base salary and suddenly it won't look so attractive anymore...

The math is pretty basic—it's like saying a waiter makes $1,000, but if they pull double shifts all month, they make $2,000, which is basically just a way for a boss to brag, "Look at me, I'm a great employer because my staff makes $2,000"...

Comparing this to what doctors earn is honestly depressing for the profession, but there's really no point in even trying to compare them...
By the way, the rate for a "certified" worker from Waste Management is maybe $50 or $33, while a 5-to-10-minute specialist costs $50...
With the first guy, you either get a better clean or a worse one while treating him like second-class, whereas the specialist directs you to the next pro before you can even say "thanks, doc" and head out...

Without a clear organizational structure and defined job tiers, all this talk is just empty noise...
What’s the point of looking at average salaries when you have 200 people out in the field doing the heavy lifting, while 400 are stuck crunching payroll and another 800 are busy "advising" the CEO? It doesn't add up.
Who actually cares about those averages, other than the statisticians over at the New York Times looking for a flashy headline?

In any profitable corporation—not some small private shop—money inevitably gets "lost" on a bunch of unproductive middle managers and overhead...

Making maybe $3,500 to $5,000 a year for a driver or a delivery person working shifts and being out in the elements isn't exactly breaking the bank.
Anyone who doubts that should try it themselves; they wouldn't last long before realizing their sleep schedule is trashed, their social life is non-existent, and their family is feeling the strain, not to mention how much it kills your joints when you're battling the wind or sweating through a summer heatwave. There are no AC units or ergonomic office chairs out there...
The way I see it, my deliveries arrive on time, so I don't have anything to complain about regarding the crew...
I'm with you.
