I'm not entirely sure how much truth there is to this, but I've heard that using those kinds of machines long-term can actually lead to muscle atrophy 😕 ...

...my take on it: sports should stay focused on actual movement. I just can't wrap my head around the idea that two women with the exact same lifestyle and physique would end up looking identical if one relies on those machines while the other sticks to aerobics, swimming, or running outdoors.
Zone Diet in Health ·
I read this last year... it was a gift from my mom.

I heard there might be a Zone Cookbook available here in the States... does anyone know how much it costs or where I can pick one up?

I remember being really impressed by the concept and the whole idea while I was reading it.

Honestly, I think anyone disciplined enough to stick to the Zone will see great results.

The problem is, I cook for other people (not just myself), and others cook for me too. We tend to adapt to each other since we don't have the time to whip up two or three different meals every single day; we just eat based on what everyone is craving... so after about a week, I ended up giving up.

Even though, during those seven days, I definitely had way more energy than usual.

Any relaxation techniques?

it puts me right to sleep.

I honestly think your headaches aren't the actual issue—they're more like a symptom...😉 you really need to address the root cause... and only you know what that is (something that's making you unhappy)

You can often deal with headaches using alternative methods, so pills should really be your last resort rather than your first move.

Things like getting enough sleep, taking long showers, going for a walk in the fresh air, rubbing oils on your temples, having your partner give you a massage, or listening to relaxing music can help just as much.

I haven't tried any drugs (nor do I want to)... just those pills.

Those ARE drugs.😢

William Scott40 said:The only weird thing I noticed about the diet is that even though I was eating everything in sight during the holidays—especially all those desserts—I actually lost two pounds.😕

I had the same experience, though I don't usually react much to these things anyway, so it felt pretty standard for me.😁 😉

Basically, I lost weight during those first few months even though my eating habits hadn't changed at all.

William Scott40 said:I’m also going to start taking Diane for a few days. And then for the next six months... I'm a little nervous, I've never taken any kind of pills before...

Don't let it get to you. Often, fear is the only bad thing that actually happens out of all the side effects we imagine. 😉

You won't know until you try.
If you have side effects or just don't like how they make you feel, you can always stop taking them.

Good luck!🙂

Sean Doyle said:My doctor recently prescribed Diane to me, and I’m starting them in a few days.. do they really have more hormones than other pills?!

For those of you who have used Diane, how was your experience? (I know everyone reacts differently, but I'm curious since I've never been on birth control before.)

I took Diane for years.
I’d just take a break once a year. It's recommended to do it more often, but...

I didn't gain any weight at all, my minor breakouts cleared up, and my libido stayed totally normal.
Now I'm using a patch, which supposedly has fewer hormones than Diane... A good friend of mine actually struggled with Diane; she had major mood swings and fluctuations...😕

It hurts.

Sweet childhood memories.
My grandma used to just carry a potato around behind us because someone was always slamming a door on someone else's fingers.

The three of us (my cousin, my brother, and I) absolutely loved 🙄 slamming doors right in each other's faces; honestly, we’d have been lucky if we hadn't ended up with a crushed finger 😁

I don't know what it is about potatoes, but I would have wrapped my finger in those thin slices every hour if it meant saving my skin.
But yeah, it hurts—it really hurts.😉
