Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
So, after being on the pill for about a year and a half, I finally decided to stop last month. Now, everything feels completely uncertain... I have no idea when to actually expect my first "real" period to show up. If I had just stayed on them, I would have been due this Friday, which means if it doesn't come, I'll technically be three days late. Before I ever started hormonal birth control, my cycle used to run pretty consistently between 32 and 35 days. Lately, though, I’ve been dealing with some abdominal pain for a few days now... I did have one instance of unprotected sex a couple of days ago—using the withdrawal method—and since he didn't finish inside, I don't think I'm pregnant, though I know that's never a 100% guarantee, theoretically speaking... So, my question is, how long did it take for your first period to return after you quit the pill? And at what point should I actually start worrying and maybe consider taking a pregnancy test if nothing happens?

But what about Vitamin B? 🤔

I’m taking my very last Yasmin pill today... I think I'll take a standard seven-day break before starting up on Loestrin... at least, that's how I interpreted what my gynecologist was telling me...🤷

Honestly, it sat really wrong with me when I realized that isn't how you should be prescribing birth control pills—you need to check things first. Now, I'm actually planning on switching gynecologists...
I guess I'm wondering, what specific tests did your doctors send you for? I assume it was blood work, but what exactly were they looking at?

Exactly, blood work. They wanted a full CBC, liver function tests, a coagulation profile, ESR, and glucose levels. My doctor also recommended I get a breast ultrasound, though I haven't actually followed through with that yet... but I really should go soon...

Jamie Barnes60 I’ve been sitting here for quite some time now... just thinking about how much everything seems to shift when you finally stop running. It’s funny, isn't it? We spend so much energy trying to outpace the inevitable, trying to build these perfect little lives in the middle of a hurricane... and then one day, the wind just dies down. You’re left standing there in the silence. It’s heavy. It’s actually quite heavy... almost overwhelming. I find myself looking at the horizon more often lately. Not because I’m looking for something specific, but because the stillness... it demands attention. It really does... kaže:
$22 You really are the longest... truly... just constant... 🙂

You're very welcome! Honestly, it really means a lot... just knowing that everything came through clearly. I truly appreciate you taking the time to reach out like this... it makes all the effort feel worthwhile... more than you know. 🙂

I completely forgot to ask, what's the current going rate for Logest?...

I quit Yasmin because of complete vaginal dryness (it was honestly miserable 😳), mood swings (though those settled down eventually), and my breasts hurt almost constantly (even if they did grow a full size 😁). My libido stayed fine, though.

Basically, the first month on Loestrin was great. My breasts were swollen, but they didn't hurt, and my natural lubrication came back... everything felt fine...
But now, on the second pack, the issues are back. I'm not dry anymore, which is a plus, but my breasts hurt TERRIBLY. They're swollen, heavy, and hard again... and my sex drive is completely gone. I had sex yesterday and it just felt wrong, like I was forcing myself to do it 😢 and I couldn't feel anything at all...
We'll see how things go from here... 🙄

Yeah, I totally forgot to mention the dryness too. I'm really hoping things take a turn for the better soon. But honestly, there is no way I'd ever want to give up my curves. I just hope they don't disappear on me... 🙂

I've been on Yasmin for about eight months now. I have just four pills left in this pack before I make the switch over to Logest... has anyone here actually made that transition from one to the other? I’m curious what your experiences were like moving between these two... As for the Yasmin, I didn't deal with too many major side effects, though my libido has completely vanished 😠 and, well, my breasts have definitely become quite swollen 😍...
