The mental game of elite performance in Hobbies & Leisure ·
I was watching some old sports highlights last night and it got me thinking about that specific "flow state" people talk about. It’s one thing to be physically talented, but there is a whole different level of grit required when you're pushing through sheer exhaustion or dealing with physical setbacks.

I remember training for a local marathon a few years back. Around mile 18, I just hit a wall where my brain basically told my legs to stop existing. It wasn't even about fitness at that point; it was a total mental battle to stay focused on the goal instead of the discomfort.

It feels like at the highest level of competition, the physical stuff is almost secondary to the psychological toughness. You see athletes who seem to tap into this almost supernatural level of focus when the pressure is at its absolute peak, and it makes me wonder if that’s something you can actually train, or if you’re just born with that specific type of stubbornness.

Do you think elite performance is mostly about raw talent, or is it really just about who can endure the most mental strain?
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
It’s true, that’s just how it goes... I don't make things any easier on myself, either. Instead of actually relaxing, I just tense up and strain my muscles even harder.
I mean, if I haven't gotten used to this after all these years, I probably never will. So let it hurt; it is what it is. I've always managed to make it through that one difficult day, and I'll do the same in the future.😉🙂

It’s okay, though it doesn't really help much at the moment... 🙂 But things are slowly looking up; I can actually sit up straight now without hunching over. 🙂 Weeeee, party time! 😁 (Man, I love it when the pain finally lets up—it feels so good just being pain-free 😁)

You're fighting off the flu, and I'm stuck dealing with these hives... honestly, I don't know who has it worse 👎
Ugh, this stuff... I absolutely hate it 😢

Today is day one for me, and the cramps are absolutely killing me. I took two pills, but it feels like I didn't even take anything... I’m doing okay for now, but sometimes this ends with an ER visit or spending the whole day throwing up. Honestly, since I was on birth control until recently, I actually forgot how bad this gets, and today it just hit me all at once.😢
There's really no fix. Some girls might get lucky if their meds actually work, but they don't work for me.👎
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
I quit taking Yasmin about a month ago because everyone I know who was on it started freaking out. Now that my period finally showed up, the side effects are hitting hard—the cramps are unbearable, my energy is totally shot, and the breakouts are coming back. 😢
I'm just sitting here waiting for my gynecologist to review my labs and see what they decide to prescribe. Reading through all your posts, I’ve realized that I either need incredible luck or I need to find something that works exactly like those Yasmin pills used to for me. 👍 Fear is nothing but a devil in disguise!

I’m part of that group too 👋🤣...it’s like having one hand faster than the other 🙂
I dealt with a nasty bladder infection recently and I've been on antibiotics. They caused some heavy discharge and light spotting, but my doctor told me not to worry since it’s a normal side effect. They also found some bacteria during my tests, and my white blood cell count was pretty high.
She prescribed me some Canesten cream and vaginal suppositories, and honestly, by the next day, they were just leaving clumps behind! It's definitely best to check in with your doctor so you can finally have some peace of mind.🙂
