Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Lisa Barrett97 said:Is there actually any way to make this happen???

So, I was wondering—and please tell me if I'm crazy here—if it’s even possible to speed up or delay my period by just maybe two or three days using strictly natural methods? Like, no pills or anything else, because I don't even take those normally, but right now, because of some specific things going on, it would be such a huge help.

Honestly, I think it's impossible. 🤷

I was on the pill for about six days—started right on the first day of my period. But man, they just did not sit well with me at all (constant headaches, nausea, the whole deal...), so my OB-GYN told me I should just stop taking them.
Then, about six days after I quit, I had some spotting/bleeding.
It wasn't anything crazy, just lasted for two days.

I'm trying to figure out when I can actually expect my next real period?
Is it 28 days from my "actual" last period, or 28 days from this weird short one?
(My cycle is usually pretty steady at 28 days)

I hope you guys get what I'm asking here 😁

I know hormones can totally mess with your rhythm, but honestly, I'm getting so frustrated because nothing has happened yet (if we count from my "real" start, it's day 33... but based on this recent bleeding, it's only been 22 days)...

And if I keep stressing out like this, it probably won't show up at all! :P

That irregular bleeding is just what happens when you abruptly stop the pill. There’s really no way to predict exactly when your next period will hit—it'll happen whenever it happens.

Actually, no—for me, things actually started getting way worse the longer I stayed on it.🤣

I was sitting there, just staring at the screen for a good while, wondering if I should even bother typing this out, because sometimes the words feel like they’re just slipping through my fingers before I can catch them, you know? But then I thought, well, life is too short to leave these little observations unsaid, even if I tend to ramble more than I probably should. It’s funny how we all get caught up in these digital spaces, searching for some kind of connection or just a way to pass the time, and yet, here I am, still trying to find the right rhythm for my own thoughts. I suppose I’m just someone who thinks a bit too much about things that don't really matter, or maybe they do matter more than I care to admit. Anyway, I'm just drifting along, hoping this makes sense to anyone else out there who feels a bit lost in the noise. kaže:
Question for the ladies out there who have been on birth control pills for a while now:
Has anyone else noticed their hair getting significantly oilier right from the start of being on birth control? I feel like I’m constantly fighting a losing battle with my scalp lately.
I’ve been sitting here, rewinding a movie for the tenth time, just letting my mind wander through these little observations, and it occurred to me—quite suddenly, actually—that my hair seems significantly more oily than it used to be, ever since I started taking those pills. It’s one of those strange, subtle shifts in one's daily reality that you don't notice until you're staring at the screen, wondering if it's all in your head or a genuine physiological change. 😲

I've been taking them for about four months now, and honestly, I haven't really noticed any major changes elsewhere. If I'm being completely truthful—and I do try to be sincere about these things—the only real difference I can point to is that my hair doesn't seem to be falling out nearly as much as it used to.😍

What do I drink? Man, that’s a loaded question—it really depends on the mood, you know? Like, if I’m just hanging out at home after a long day of work—maybe staring at a screen too long—I’ll usually just grab a cold beer. Nothing fancy, maybe a Budweiser or something similar from the local grocery store. It’s just easy. But then again, if I'm feeling a bit more "extra"—you know what I mean?—I might pour myself a glass of decent bourbon. There’s something about that smooth, smoky kick that just hits different when you're winding down. Honestly, though, most days I'm probably just hovering around coffee—lots and lots of coffee—because, well, life happens! What about you? What's your go-to?

Honestly, I’ve been noticing this lately—my hair is thinning out way more than it used to, but at the same time, it’s getting so much greasier... like, way faster. It’s such a weird, frustrating combo, you know? One minute I’m looking in the mirror thinking, "Hey, maybe that volume is coming back," and then ten minutes later, it’s just a total oil slick. I don't know if it's the stress or just getting older—probably a bit of both—but it’s driving me kind of crazy. Anyone else dealing with this weird balancing act? 😕

Has anyone else noticed their hair getting super oily right after they started taking them?
I’m just sitting here playing the movie back in my head—you know, looking back at how things used to be—and it really feels like my hair has become way greasier since I started the birth control than it ever was before.😲
🤣
Look, I'm not trying to lecture anyone here—honestly, kika 😍 —but you can't go wrong with the classics, like Milka hazelnut chocolate or a Raffaello... they're just solid choices, really.

Sarah Flores said:I’ve finally started actually paying attention to my health—since these symptoms I’m dealing with are clearly some kind of inflammation, and now I’ve got this lower abdominal pain and I’m running to the bathroom constantly (probably just a UTI, but it’s acting up again), my doctor gave me a referral for blood and urine tests plus some antibiotics... I’m honestly not sure if the urinalysis will specifically pick up E. coli or what, but whatever. I’m just really hoping to get this sorted out once and for all. And, uh, I'm finally heading to the gynecologist late August or early September... which is about time after 14 months! ☕... I’m just praying I don't end up with a yeast infection right after the antibiotics kick in...👎
Should I just load up on yogurt, or should I go ahead and grab some probiotics like Lactogyn right away?😁

Honestly, just stick to more yogurt. I haven't even dealt with a yeast infection myself, so 🤷 finish your course of antibiotics first and see how you feel—but hey, taking an extra probiotic wouldn't hurt at all!

Ashley Cooper52 said:One question, a thousand different answers. 😢

There are literally a thousand ways to answer this one question, but really, only one is actually right—
unfortunately, not even the people on this forum can give you a straight answer, and honestly, you're lucky if your OBGYN actually knows what's happening.

I've dealt with quite a bit of irregular bleeding myself—I don't know if all cases stem from the same thing—but ever since I finally cleared out that E. coli issue (ugh, what a nightmare!), it hasn't happened once, and that was six months ago!

And since you were talking, brightbadger69, about E. coli, if you still have it, it is super possible that the bacteria is the culprit. I was reading up on the symptoms earlier, and when I put my own history of having it show up on a Pap smear together with what I read, everything just clicked.

Hey, let me ask you—I wasn't sure if you're on birth control pills and dealing with spotting, or if you aren't taking anything at all?
Because when I was on them for a month, I had this light spotting for almost fifteen days straight, only to find out later that I actually had an E. coli infection—so now I'm stuck wondering if it was the bacteria causing the mess or just my body adjusting to the hormones?

gentlefox2 said:I have a question,
does anyone happen to know when you're actually supposed to stop taking birth control pills? Like, is there some rule where you have to finish the entire pack first?

Yeah—honestly, it’s much easier on your system if you just finish the whole thing.😉
