Starting a small business in natural cosmetics in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
I know a handful of people who run their own natural skincare lines, and it seems like every single one of them switched over to the simplified tax filing system. As far as I can tell, you can just get everything set up through the official government portal online. That's pretty much all I know about getting things started 😁
Growing up, I felt like I was being grounded or punished almost every single day, and honestly, there were times when I didn't even understand why I was getting hit. I guess that’s why I’m a little bit crazy today 😁 If I ever had kids of my own, I suppose I might be a bit physical with them too, though not out of spite—just if it felt absolutely necessary in the moment.

I suppose you’ll end up seeing things a bit differently once you actually meet the person you're meant to be with. 😬

Personally, I don't have any desire to have kids either. And honestly, I couldn't care less about all that mindless drama people make out of it.

I can't help but wonder why people don't seem to enjoy playing in the snow anymore. It feels like everyone has just lost their spark, or maybe they've just lost interest in actually living life to the fullest? I guess it could be that people aren't in the best shape physically, or perhaps some just really hate dealing with the slush and the cold, but it seems like nobody has that sense of joy or the desire to just mess around in the snow for the sake of it anymore. 😢What is wrong with people? 😢Why has everyone become so incredibly serious?

Alright. I've been sitting here thinking about everything you all have said, and I guess I've really taken it all to heart 🙂

Also, do you lie often, and can you actually make pizza dough from scratch?

I'm not particularly attractive. And please, don't mess with me here. These are actually pretty serious questions.

There are still 👋

Nicholas Gonzalez8 said:First off, stop calling yourself an idiot. Seriously. Even if you mess up, critique the mistake—don't attack your entire identity.

That fear of exposing a weakness is what's creating the mental block. Maybe you went through something rough in the past, and that's where this whole thing started. What was your childhood like? How much weight do you give to what other people think of you?

In my book, the best way to deal with fears is to face them head-on. You can't run from them because they aren't out there in the world—they're inside you. So, my advice is pretty straightforward: break out of your comfort zone. You've gone to one extreme by holding everything back. Try opening up a little more during deeper conversations with individuals. This could even be someone you barely know—sometimes it's actually easier to be open with a stranger than with people you've known forever. Whether you're "boring" to talk to really depends on the other person; there are plenty of folks who prefer listening over doing all the talking. It's going to feel awkward and uncomfortable, but there's a solid chance that's exactly how you break those blocks. Once you've tested both sides of the coin, you'll find that balance you're looking for.

I don't actually think I'm stupid, 😁 I just tend to speak really fast, so I don't always stop to consider the weight of certain words 😬

To answer your questions... when I was a kid, I was very quiet and unassuming, and I never really talked about myself. Not even in school. I'd talk about anything else, but never about me. It's just always been that way, I guess. I don't think I have any specific trauma that caused me to shut down; it's more just my nature. I rarely ever start a sentence with "I." And honestly, it's still like that today.

Do you mean what people think of me specifically, or just opinions in general? Because, to be honest, I don't really care what people think of me, though I do respect and listen to opinions regarding other matters. I'll actually take them into consideration. For example, like right now 😁

A friend of mine recently insisted that I should talk more about myself. I felt so incredibly awkward about it, but I did try a little bit. 😁

I guess it just means your feelings get hurt when someone hits a nerve, right? 🙂

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the replies. 😍

Alright, I think I'll take some time to sit with what you said and really wrap my head around your post.

I suppose it’s just one of those things where we don't really talk about ourselves because there isn't much mutual affection to go on. 😢 But honestly, maybe it's actually because I care too much that I tend to keep things to myself. I feel like certain parts of my life should probably stay reserved for the few people who truly deserve to know them, and I guess everyone else is just irrelevant, so I don't really find myself caring much about what they think anyway. 😳

Kevin Gomez10 said:If that’s the benchmark for being slow on the uptake, then I suppose I should just accept my status as a chronic misfit. It isn't that I feel any particular urge to broadcast my thoughts, my ideas, or even my emotions... I just don't. I find it rather exhausting when people constantly thrust their banal little problems and trivialities onto me, especially since I make it a point never to do the same to them. They can be quite intrusive, I guess. I suppose if the other person just rambles on without expecting me to jump in or fix their mess, I can tolerate it to some degree. I don't see much point in engaging when most people in my life seem to hold views that are diametrically opposed to mine, and we rarely share any common ground. There are times when you realize that even with a perfectly reasonable debate and logical arguments, you won't get anywhere because the other side either lacks the capacity to understand or simply refuses to, clinging to their position like a stubborn child.

The internet is a different beast entirely. Out here, nobody knows who I am, which makes it significantly easier to find people who actually share my interests and perspectives—people you can actually have a conversation with and exchange ideas. It almost feels as though strangers online understand me better than the people who are supposedly close to me. Ultimately, the web offers the blissful option of just blocking people you don't want to deal with, whereas in real life, those individuals are often impossible to avoid. I end up having to pretend I'm enjoying their company, sitting there like a passive observer, listening to nonsense that doesn't interest me while feeling absolutely no desire to contribute anything constructive to the discussion.

Beyond that, I've never felt the need to call someone up or grab a coffee just to vent about whatever might be bothering me. But then again, it doesn't really bother me if I go days without saying a single word or interacting with anyone at all.

I guess I should probably mention that I haven't really heard much from crimsonhound4 lately, though I might just be overthinking things or missing their usual updates. It feels like there's been a bit of a lull in the conversation, which is strange because they usually have such interesting perspectives on everything we discuss here. Maybe they're just busy with work or life getting in the way, but I find myself wondering what they think about the latest news. kaže:
I guess there’s this deep-seated belief buried somewhere in your subconscious that talking about yourself is just selfish and, honestly, kind of pointless. Because of that, you probably feel this natural aversion toward anyone who can't stop talking about themselves—and if I'm being honest, maybe you feel that same sense of distaste directed inward toward yourself, too.
I guess I wonder why people act like talking about yourself is such a bad thing. It feels like it only becomes an issue if you’re doing it excessively—because, honestly, anything done to excess, whether it's being too loud or too quiet, ends up being a flaw. But beyond that, I don't really see the harm. Your own story could potentially serve as a way to help someone else, maybe offer them some new perspectives, or even just be a tool for building deeper connections and helping yourself grow socially. It seems like a pretty natural part of getting to know one another.

Yeah, there’s definitely an element of selfishness involved; but is actually loving yourself really a sin? Honestly, if you ask me, I’d just say: live your life and work your way exactly how you want to, because that is your fundamental right—though I suppose how much of that freedom you actually get to exercise depends entirely on how much value you decide to place on yourself in the first place.
Do you actually associate those words—"muddy" or "retarded"—with who you are as a person? I guess if you could somehow work through that part of yourself first, everything else might just fall into place naturally... like, it would just follow from there, directly back to you.
I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with talking about yourself, you know? I mean, within reason, it’s pretty normal to share bits of your life. But for me, it just doesn't come naturally at all, and honestly, it never really has. I often find myself worrying that I’m being pushy or overbearing, and I get this nagging feeling that my little stories about myself might actually be kind of exhausting or even painful for the person on the other end of the conversation. 😁 It’s been proven time and time again that this is just how things go, so I guess there's really no point in wasting any energy trying to change it. Even with a personality like that, I actually have plenty of friends and I'd consider myself pretty social and talkative, but if you're expecting them to actually say anything meaningful about themselves... well, good luck with that. 😁 I guess it might just be because someone hasn't pointed out a potential weakness to me yet, maybe. 🤔 I don't know, I guess I've just gotten a little lost. 😁

So, I’ve got this one issue that just seems to follow me around everywhere. I honestly never really talk about myself to anyone. Lately, a few people I’m actually close to have told me that they feel like they don't really know me at all. And don't even get me started on how I come across in groups of strangers—apparently, I just seem like this stuck-up, silent wallflower 😁 It isn't that I feel a burning need to voice my opinions or constantly broadcast my thoughts, desires, feelings, or even just basic greetings. When I go on dates, I find myself just asking questions about their lives the whole time, mostly because it lets them do all the talking so I don't have to say anything about myself 😁 It’s not that I’m naturally a quiet person, per se, but I guess there's just this physical resistance I feel whenever I’m expected to talk about myself. It honestly just feels like too much effort.

Maybe it's because it feels like everyone else is just constantly bragging about themselves, and that kind of behavior just makes me recoil?

I know the irony of me opening up here, but since it's anonymous, I felt like I could finally let it out, even if it's a bit uncomfortable 😍

Is there anyone else out there who feels like this quiet, withdrawn type of person?
What makes someone likable or unlikable to you? in Psychology ·
I’ve always had a bit of a hard time with government bureaucrats—you know, those types who can't even look you in the eye, the brown-nosers, the people playing favorites just to get ahead, or those who are just plain rude and ill-mannered. I also can't really stand people who lack any sense of backbone, folks who let their own kids walk all over them, or people who are just way too submissive and spineless.

On the other hand, I really gravitate toward people who can laugh at themselves, who stay honest, and who don't let their ego get in the way of everything.

Ugh.
Suddenly my worst enemy in Psychology & Therapy ·
I feel like I’ve heard this story before. My own little saga lasted about two years.

I started working at a very young age, and naturally, I became a target for all sorts of toxic people and energy vampires. There was one woman in particular who just "loved" me 😁 She wasn't my boss or anything, just more of a colleague. Every single morning, she’d greet me by nagging me incessantly, sabotaging my workspace, and pulling all sorts of petty nonsense. In the beginning, I just took it; I tried to be the bigger person because I honestly didn't know how else to handle it. Eventually, I started trying to ignore her, which somehow made her target me even harder. That is, until one morning I finally just snapped 🤷 I remember walking in one morning and seeing some trash left right next to my desk. It definitely wasn't mine, since I had cleaned everything up the day before. I looked up and saw this obnoxious woman smirking at me from her station 😬 I knew immediately it was her doing. I picked up that trash, threw it right at her feet, and told her off—telling her exactly what I thought of her family and warning her to stay the hell away from me before I lost it completely 😢 She just stood there looking stunned, muttering through her teeth that I was some wild animal from the Appalachian Mountains. That was the last thing she ever said to me.
Later on, I’d hear that she was gossiping about me to the other old ladies in the office, but honestly, I couldn't bring myself to care. As long as she wasn't messing with me directly anymore, I was fine.

I should probably mention that I never once provoked her. Never. She probably thought she could act that way because I was a bit of a brat back then, but I really wasn't, and I never gave her any actual reason to treat me like that 🙄 I realize I probably came off as a total savage because I brought her family into it and made those threats, but I just hit my breaking point and lost control. But I guess that’s exactly what people like that want—to throw you off balance so you can't function properly 😠

I suspect she was just jealous because I was young and full of life 😢
Are we at our happiest as children? in Psychology ·
I think I’m feeling a bit happier these days. Looking back, I was such a timid, shy, and sensitive kid, which I guess really held me back from being myself. I didn't exactly have much freedom back then; I felt like I always had to do exactly what I was told, mostly because I was terrified of getting hit if I didn't comply. Of course, there were some wonderful moments here and there, but I feel like there are so many more of them now 😁
For sure. I’m planning on being cremated, so it feels like such a waste to let all my lovely, perfectly preserved organs just turn into ash. Who knows, maybe someone out there might actually find a use for them...
