Stinging and brown discharge in Women's Health ·

Go see an OBGYN. Only a doctor can actually tell you what's going on and prescribe something if you need it—not us random people on a forum.

It's just some spotting—totally normal during the first few months on the pill. According to the Yasmin instructions, if this keeps happening for several months, you should go see a gynecologist.

Yeah, but I’m guessing my biggest advantage was not dealing with anorexia. (Not attacking you, just saying—if you’re seriously underweight, hormone therapy probably won't fix much on its own.) Good luck 🙂.

I saw a gynecologist and an endocrinologist, and they told me it stopped because of sudden weight loss (about 33 lbs in a few months). I was diagnosed with anorexia, and my doctor said I need to gain weight (I'm currently at 108 lbs and 5'5") over the next year to get my period back.
If it doesn't come back, she said I'll have to start hormone therapy. Can someone explain what hormone therapy is and what the side effects are? I heard it can cause cancer..😲

I was diagnosed with amenorrhea at 16, and my OBGYN put me on Dabras—I think I took it for about a month (or however long it lasts, I don't remember) and then everything was fine.

Alright, thanks. 🙂

I think you can buy them. Plenty of people I know head over to Mexico just because things are cheaper there.

Give me a break. I'm heading to a country where our names and surnames with all these accents won't even look "local"—specifically Germany—so it’ll be dead obvious that I'm just some foreigner. 🤷

Hey, has anyone here bought pills abroad (specifically Yasmin, to be clear)? My break week and the start of my next pack happen to line up right when I'm traveling to another country, so I'm a little worried.
Also, is it actually true you can buy them every 20 days?

Just stick them in your wallet (I doubt she's digging through there 🙂), along with the instructions.

Plus, the headaches were too frequent, so I switched. My labs were fine. Historically, my periods were excruciating—vomiting and being completely incapacitated. On Yasmin, the pain disappeared and my period lasted about four or five days. Now on Yaz, things are great. I get a headache once a month, there's no cellulite, no weight gain, no bloating, and no seven-day break. My period lasts two or three days, though the first day hits me incredibly hard, almost like a natural cycle.
I hope Yasmin works for you. It worked for me, but compared to Yaz, Yaz is significantly better. 🙂 But again, that's just my experience. 😉

Thanks. So, what if they don't work for me? Should I just call my OB-GYN to switch them? 🙂

Kind of a stupid question here..

My OB-GYN told me yesterday that I could pick whichever birth control I wanted since my blood work came back clean. She offered me Yasmin, Yaz, or Triquilar—said they were all solid, low-hormone options. Since I'm not exactly sweating the cost and she seemed to lean toward Yasmin, I just went with those.

I get that everyone reacts differently to different brands, but now I'm second-guessing if I made the right call. Any advice? (comfort me..)
Does anyone know what time they stop taking blood at the Siget Community Health Center?
