The gap between this Danish squad and our guys feels like it’s about six or seven goals. It seems like the Americans really capitalized on the fact that the Danes haven't quite figured out how to close out games like this, which allowed us to claw our way back in during those final twenty minutes. Honestly, it was almost painful to watch how terrified they became of losing their lead, leading them to commit such ridiculous mistakes. We're talking stepping violations, offensive fouls—all while having a man advantage, which is just embarrassing for a team of their caliber. 🙄

Yesterday, I watched Karabatić personally sprint the ball from our own goal all the way to the other end, single-handedly setting up at least ten different scoring opportunities against an unorganized defense.
Honestly, seeing these fast breaks and attacks on an unset line doesn't surprise me one bit, especially since the Americans seem even faster when they transition like that.

The Americans are absolutely tearing through our 3-2-1 defensive setup; they’re sliding their wingers right onto the line, but most importantly, they move the ball around our perimeter so quickly that they always find an open shot, and we just don't have a goalkeeper capable of shutting any of that down.

Honestly, if you look closely, there were way more calls going against France than against us, and don't even get me started on that final play where Balić took down Abalo—that was a two-minute penalty handed out for nothing.

But really, the French shouldn't be complaining about the officiating because the referees didn't make nearly that much of a difference; they just played poorly and earned their loss.

The last time they managed to beat France in a semifinal, they ended up getting absolutely crushed in the finals when the Danes humiliated them, so let's just hope history doesn't repeat itself.

If Lackovic and Metlicic can actually step up and perform at their peak, plus if we get Balic playing at his true level, then maybe we have a chance—but honestly, even that might not be enough to save us. I mean, when things are looking this bleak, it feels like we could lose to just about anyone, right? The real headache is that the odds of all three of our perimeter players being in top form at the exact same time seem incredibly slim. If we manage to get two of them firing, we'll certainly be in a better spot, but does that really leave us with enough firepower to actually win?🤷

In my opinion, Balic isn't really going to move the needle in a situation like this. I mean, can his impact tomorrow truly outweigh what those two other guys bring to the table? Sure, Balic might be able to slice right through someone like Gill, but he’s going to run straight into a wall like Dinart waiting on the other side. If those two main players are busy breaking through their matchups, our wings are the only ones left to step up and provide that crucial defensive cover, and once they leave their spots, you start seeing massive holes opening up all along the perimeter.

That’s a textbook foul; even if they didn't touch him, they were inside the key and clearly interfering with his shot, so I guess it makes sense why you'd have an eye for this as a former referee.🤣
