Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
casualbear17 said:For those of you who packed on weight from Yaz, how long did it take to get back to your old self after you quit?
I've been on them for 9 months now and I've gained 12 pounds😢. Thinking about ditching them for something else, even though these were prescribed for my acne. I was on Loestrin before this and never had these issues, but since switching to Yaz, I've even developed cellulite
. Mind you, I've been hitting aerobics four times a week for the last year, plus plenty of cycling and rolling around. My diet hasn't changed at all. Nothing extra
.

I had the exact same experience, and the weight finally started coming off after about four months. I ended up gaining seven pounds total over the year I spent on them to manage my PCOS, and the water retention was just brutal—by the third month of taking Diana, I could barely squeeze into my jeans, and that was with me being incredibly careful about everything I ate. I felt constantly bloated🤷. Since then, I’ve switched to Yasmin and have been on it for three years; during that time, I’ve only gained two pounds, mostly because I don't eat particularly healthy and I rarely have the time to whip up a home-cooked meal every day. I shudder to think what would have happened if I’d stayed on Diana given my current diet; they are definitely the worst of the bunch when it comes to weight gain, even if they were admittedly very effective for my specific symptoms. For what it's worth, neither I nor my family are typically prone to putting on weight.
How much longer are you stuck taking them?

But clearly, you aren't taking your pills at the exact same time every day, because if you were, you'd realize you had accidentally doubled up. Honestly, your best bet is to set a recurring alarm on your phone so you can take them at the precise same moment daily. That way, you'll minimize side effects and avoid these little panics altogether.

Thank you so much to you and Maria Gray45 for the advice. I actually do have an alarm set on my phone, but I completely mismanaged things that evening; I ended up silencing the alarm when it went off at 9:00 PM, and then when I was getting ready for bed around 11:00 PM, I realized I had "forgotten" my pill and took it then. In the interim, I had popped into the kitchen to grab some tea, and I think I might have inadvertently taken one of them before the 11:00 PM dose.
Thanks again for looking out for me, ladies; I was truly starting to worry myself sick.
To whom it may concern,

I am writing to ask for some guidance. I started my new cycle of Diane birth control pills this past Sunday, but I just realized today that I am one pill short, which means I definitely accidentally took two yesterday. It’s quite unlike me, but I have been under an immense amount of stress all day preparing for an exam, and now I find myself worrying about how to proceed since I will be left with a missing pill at the end of the pack 🤷. How should I handle this specific situation? 😢

Thank you all for any advice you can offer.

I only just noticed that there is a dedicated women's health forum, so I would like to kindly request that the moderators move this thread over there. My apologies for posting in the wrong place.
