Printer issues? in Computer Peripherals ·
What kind of printer should I grab for around $133—needs to be a scanner/printer combo.
I’m only talking like 10 pages a month... just don't want to get killed on the price of color ink.
crimsonpanther8 said:Back in January, I went under the knife to fix my breathing issues and those nonstop headaches. Once I could finally schedule it, I decided to go ahead and get a little cosmetic touch-up too. 😁
Not only can I actually breathe now without struggling, and the headaches are gone, but honestly? I am beyond obsessed with how my nose looks now.

Thanks! ;-)
I'm sending it over to the doctor to take a look. If surgery is the only way to fix things, then yeah, might as well go all in and stop dealing with the misery...
Anyone here ever gone under the knife for breathing issues?
My husband's been struggling to breathe through his nose for years now,
It’s like it's constantly stuffed up..
From everything I've read, sounds like surgery might be the only way out...

Next time this happens to you, don't let them off easy—insist on a urine culture first. Throwing antibiotics around blindly is basically playing Russian roulette. If you don't hit the exact bacteria they're actually dying from, you're just nuking your immune system for no reason. Then you end up needing *another* dose of antibiotics because your defenses are shot, and before you know it, you've picked up a fungal infection and you're stuck in this endless, miserable loop.

That's what I was thinking too...
So I guess I just have to hope their "psychic powers" lead them to the right med... :-/
Angela Wright said:Bladder infection. It’s telling you there’s a ton of bacteria in your urine, which should be sterile. You really need to get a urine culture with an antibiogram done so you can figure out exactly which bug it is and which antibiotic actually hits it hardest.

Thanks ;-)
My GP gave me some antibiotics today. I'll finish this course first, then I'm heading in for the urine culture and swabs...
Can someone help me make sense of these results?
Urinalysis—
Appearance—slightly cloudy (clear)
Color—yellow (pale yellow)
Protein—trace (negative)
Leukocytes 12 (normal is up to 2)
Erythrocytes 2 (normal is up to 2)
Squamous epithelial cells 2 (normal is up to 1)
Small epithelial cells 0
Hyaline casts 0
Non-hyaline casts 0
Crystals 0
Salts 0
Bacteria—quite a bit
Yeast 0
Mucus—some presence
So, if I'm reading this right, we're looking at some kind of inflammation here?
But how am I supposed to figure out where exactly the infection is?
I've got three stool samples ready for blood testing... how long can these things sit around before they're totally useless?
I honestly don't know how many more people have to die from cancer before someone actually finds a cure...
My father-in-law has throat cancer—he already went through a laryngectomy—and just a month ago he ended up back in the hospital with stomach pains. Turns out, the cancer metastasized to his liver and probably his pancreas too...
There’s basically zero hope left...
And my husband? He’s completely out of it, basically in a coma...
The old man is probably only aware of the fact that he's stuck in a hospital bed...
We haven't even told his wife anything yet. We know she won't be able to handle the news and we're terrified for her...
The doctors are waiting on an oncologist to decide if he can even handle chemo...but I seriously doubt it. He's way too weak and keeps running fevers. If they decide he can't do chemo, they're just gonna send him home...
The hardest part hasn't even started yet...:-(
That nagging pain in my lower right abdomen just won't quit... It’s not like a sharp, stabbing thing, more like this annoying, constant, dull ache that just sits there...
I honestly have no clue what other tests I should even be asking for to figure out what the hell is going on...
My gastroenterologist is leaning towards Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)... could that actually be the culprit here?
They told me I need to bring three consecutive stool samples for testing, so I'm wondering—if I'm grabbing them three days in a row, where am I supposed to keep them? Somewhere cold, like a fridge?
And my temperature's been hovering around 99.1°F for a few days now... please, someone help me out :-(
Yeah, the biopsy was done and everything looks fine so far...
I still have a referral for a stool test, though. I need to get Fe, uibc, tibc, K, Na, CRP, fecal calprotectin, three sets of blood cultures, and anti-tTg.
I asked my primary care doctor and they said I’ll need to bring in three consecutive stool samples. Honestly, I'm wondering how much "material" I actually need to produce, because my bathroom habits aren't exactly regular, so I have no clue how many days this is going to take me just to get those three samples...
Any doctors in here who can weigh in on this...
So, about two months ago, I started getting these nagging pains in my lower right abdomen.
For the last week, though, it’s been constant. Not like "emergency room" levels of pain, but it just won't quit. It's steady.
I actually ended up at the ER because I was worried it might be appendicitis...
They ran blood work, a urinalysis, an X-ray of my abdomen and urinary tract, plus a kidney ultrasound, and everything came back fine.
My temp was slightly elevated—hit 99.3°F, now it's sitting at 99.0°F.
Besides the abdominal pain, I'm dealing with frequent trips to the bathroom and this annoying cycle of constipation and diarrhea.
The doctor at the ER basically told me to just head home, eat light, and stay hydrated...😂
Do you think I should push for more tests? Like, what else could be causing this kind of pain?
Abdomen is soft and elastic at the level of the sternum; tender upon deep palpation at the junction of the lower abdomen and the suprapubic bone. No guarding or peritoneal irritation, LS negative, bowel sounds present.
Temp 99.3°F
Temp 99.9°F
Thanks much ;-)
I've been dealing with this constant urge to pee for a while now, and now I'm starting to get this sharp pain in my lower right side...
My GP gave me referrals for a urinalysis and an ABG, then my OBGYN ordered a U-sed urine test and a K-KKS.
So, am I seriously going to have to go back twice just to drop off samples for every single different referral?
Is the U-sed enough on its own? Does that one test already cover the urinalysis and the ABG?
My brother-in-law’s facing his second round of radiation and first chemo session tomorrow for throat cancer...
I’m really hoping he can hang in there through it all...
He’s already started on some kind of vitamin shake
For those of you who’ve been through the chemo ringer, what’s the deal with food and drinks? What should he be eating, and what kind of side effects am I looking at?
Svrkar’s gonna have to deal with radiation and chemo because of that throat cancer...
The doctor mentioned something about him maybe being eligible for free medical transport...
Now I'm wondering if that rule still only applies to people living far away from 31 miles, or if it's changed since the Secretary promised an update recently??
ironranger44 said:I’d say this is actually a pretty solid breakdown—way more detail than what you find when you just Google the ENT department at Johns Hopkins Hospital:

So how did they even find out? Was it just a random discovery, or did symptoms start popping up?

Symptoms definitely showed up—coughing, trouble swallowing, phlegm, and breathing was a struggle...
His primary care doc spent two months treating him for a sore throat... then finally gave him a referral to the hospital, and the second he walked through those doors, they knew exactly what they were dealing with...

We haven't seen the doctor in ages... whenever we drop by, he’s nowhere to be found, so we keep missing each other...
What the doctor told us after the surgery was that he might be able to eat soft foods soon, maybe even harder stuff, but it all depends on how he recovers... It's been quite a while since then, and he's still got a feeding tube in his nose for liquid nutrition...
I just figured there might be someone else here going through the exact same thing...
My brother-in-law had surgery for throat cancer about a month ago.
He had a laryngectomy—basically, they took everything out, so he can’t talk anymore...
He’s got a breathing tube in his neck and is still stuck using a feeding tube through his nose just to get nutrients...
Today, they’re supposedly trying to give him something else, I’m not even sure what, maybe something to help him swallow, and if all goes well, he might actually be home in ten days or so...
He’s already scheduled to start radiation this month, too...
Does anyone here have actual experience dealing with patients in this kind of situation?
Anyone else dealing with stuff like this? How did you guys fix it?
So, my husband is having a really hard time breathing. He’s never actually gone to see a doctor about it, he just deals with it—but he’s constantly breathing super loud and heavy, like his nose is totally stuffed up all the time.

Brandon Lopez6 said:Man, let me tell you. I had these freaking dark circles under my eyes 🙂. They just vanished after a month or two 🙂

Oh, great. Just what I needed. You totally ruined my day. :-)
Look, this is a massive headache. And honestly? Even though I’d rather die than deal with these hormones, it looks like it’s the only way out—even if it’s just a temporary fix...
Heading to the OBGYN next week, so we'll see what the doc has to say about all this :-)

Has anyone actually had luck using pills to deal with PCOS symptoms? Specifically talking about the unwanted hair growth part.
