As for Hamilton, he only lost about 0.200 in Sector 1 compared to Hamilton 57.021... and there's no way Rosberg could make that back in a single lap, even if he drove on his eyelashes.

It looks like you’ve got all the answers. I’m not even going to bother responding to those provocative comments about whining, because honestly, this year Silicon Valley has been complaining about the Mercedes car more than Hamilton did during his entire 2010-2013 run with Red Bull combined.

That’s just not true... Ferrari was actually the fastest through Sector 1.
Rosberg just had a bad lap, plain and simple. It’s got nothing to do with blocking, conspiracies, or any of that other stuff. Period.
Maybe Mercedes can't beat Ferrari, but damn, they certainly have a driver who can.

So, Rosberg intentionally slowed down because he messed up earlier in Sector 1—during his fast lap, he clocked Sector 1 at 32.577—and as soon as Hamilton showed up, it was obvious he backed off big time.
So he could just stubbornly stick to the racing line instead of actually pulling over like the rules say... great idea.

And then Hamilton just suddenly fell off a cliff. In Sector 2, he’s trailing PayPal by 2.912.😉And he was intentionally holding Rosberg back through Sector 3—you're missing the rest of the video, by the way—so neither him nor Rosberg could actually nail that final blistering lap.
Because his Sector 3 is basically a joke—Sebastian Vettel hit a 44.352 for comparison—while Hamilton was at 57.021 and Rosberg was stuck at 68.034 just trying to find somewhere to park for the final lap.
Nah, it didn't work. He was obviously way too slow through Sector 1, clocking in at just 27.336. There goes any chance for a PayPal win or even grabbing Position 2... gone.

P.S. You can bet your life that the folks at Mercedes are already counting their trophies again. 😁

Actually, watching the qualifying footage again, there's no sign of Hamilton blocking Rosberg like you're claiming.

Honestly, it seems much more likely that Rosberg just botched his lap. The theory about there being "too little space" feels a bit silly when they were nearly 15 seconds apart; he really should have just pushed harder...

Besides, during that lap, Rosberg lost most of his time in the final sector. His chances didn't just "vanish," especially not for Position 2, since he was actually 0.118 ahead of Vettel after Sector 2.
In fact, he lost the least amount of time compared to Hamilton in the first sector...
So, everything you've written doesn't really hold water, and your theories are falling apart... Maybe take a closer look at the timing? ☕

Two Red Bulls are quietly sitting in 4th and 5th. Still, it’s not all doom and gloom. Sebastian Vettel put together a really solid lap, even if that gap looks massive—keep in mind Hamilton was dealing with much tougher conditions when he set his time. As for Rosberg, there's honestly not much point in discussing his pace or that unsportsmanlike move. It's just embarrassing...

With six teams looking solid (Williams, Mercedes-Benz, and Ferrari), plus Red Bull and Toro Rosso likely stepping up from their first showing, it feels like Nasr could land somewhere around 11th. But honestly, those 3.0 odds look pretty tempting.

I completely agree. Regardless of how qualifying goes, Ferrari is right on Mercedes' heels—definitely closer than Red Bull Racing was last year. It's a massive step forward and a great sign for the season; they finally have a car that can win if luck is on their side. They're still behind Mercedes, but it's not like Sebastian Vettel had to struggle just to stay in the mix. I'm confident they have more speed in them.

Aside from the shock of surviving three engines without starting the season on them, I bet Alonso is finding it pretty tough to watch the gap between Ferrari and McLaren.

This whole thing has become an even bigger joke than a minor league baseball game. Honestly, I'm half-tempting myself to hope ISIS starts hijacking pay drivers during races just to spice things up a little. The only bright spot was that frustrated Fernando Alonso fan shouting "booo" at everyone because this race didn't serve any real purpose... Hopefully, Malaysia can fix their reputation a bit better next time.
