Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Hey there, I was wondering if it’s actually possible to adjust the timing for when I take these? Honestly, sticking to an 8:00 PM schedule just isn't working for me anymore; I really need to be able to take them at least an hour earlier. Also, if I decide to shift the window—whether that means moving things forward or pushing them back—does that mean I basically control my own schedule regarding when I actually swallow them?

And I’m going to count the very first day regardless of when it actually shows up, no matter the weather. If it arrives at 10:00 in the morning or late at 11:00 at night, I suppose I'll just count that whole day as day one anyway.

redpilot37 said:So... my period started Monday night around 9 PM, but then it just sort of tapered off by Wednesday afternoon and vanished. I wasn't too shocked because my cycles are usually pretty irregular anyway, but it didn't really come back. I've just had some light spotting—mostly pinkish or dark brown—on the tissue. It’s Friday now, and the whole thing just feels way too short. I have an appointment scheduled with my OB-GYN on October 15th, but until then, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what might be causing this spotting.
Do you guys count the first day of your cycle if the bleeding starts late at night, like 9 or 10 PM?
thanks

Honestly, I don't think you have much to worry about. I’ve had months where my period lasted a full seven days, and then suddenly it just shrunk down to four. One month, it just decided to be shorter on its own, and I didn't have any infections or anything unusual going on. I suppose it's just your body adjusting itself.
The only real concern would be if you were dealing with actual pain or other strange symptoms, which might suggest an infection. But if that's not the case, I wouldn't stress too much if I were in your shoes. Everything seems fine.
I mean, things like stress or even just your diet could definitely impact how long it lasts—at least, that's what I've read in a few places.
