Has anyone else dealt with brown spotting during their period? I used to get this back when I was younger, maybe like 10 days before my cycle actually started, but for almost a year now, my periods have just been consistently brown and way lighter than they used to be. They still last about the usual 5 or 6 days, and honestly, the cramps aren't even that bad anymore.
I actually had surgery recently to remove a cyst, so everything’s been checked out—ovaries look fine, uterus looks fine; the only thing left is dealing with some inflammation I need to make sure is fully cleared up, but otherwise, everything looked totally normal on the exam...
When I asked my doctor about it, he just brushed it off and said it's perfectly normal, but I don't know, it just doesn't feel right to me. :zbunj:
Right before New Year's, I switched over to a new primary care doctor and dentist in the city where I’d moved. Now that I'm back home, I’m dying to get back under my old doctor's and dentist's care (assuming they actually have openings, obviously). Is that even possible, and what kind of hoop-jumping am I looking at to make it happen?
So, I sent a certified letter from Washington, D.C. to a company also based here in D.C. about a week ago, and I still haven't seen any sign of that return receipt. Is this just a case of the mail carrier being lazy and not doing their job, or should I actually start sweating it and resend everything? Could I just swing by the local USPS office, show them the receipt from when I mailed it, and ask if it’s been logged yet? This is pretty big deal, and honestly, the letter was supposed to get there ASAP.
I've been on birth control for about a year now, and during my last check-up, my OBGYN told me I have a little lesion on my cervix, though everything else looks clear. He thinks my body isn't handling the hormones well—though honestly, I haven't felt any side effects, so it’s hard to say if he’s right or if this is just a random thing. Either way, he wants me to stop taking them. I'm low-key panicking because the idea of getting pregnant is terrifying, my periods are totally irregular, and I really don't want to deal with that whole process again. Plus, the thought of going through hormone withdrawal symptoms sounds like a nightmare. What can I even do here? Should I just go get a second opinion from another doctor?
Jerry Clark said:Any decent doctor should be willing to switch things up. If you feel like Loestral isn't working for you—and clearly it isn't—you've got every right to ask for something else.
Don't bother doing anything until you actually see the doc. You go to the OB-GYN first to get the referrals—they're the ones who decide which specific tests you actually need before you start the meds.
Thanks 😉
I'm heading out there this month, so I'll catch up with him then.
Is it actually normal to still be dealing with acne after being on the pill for about 10 months? Specifically Logest. Honestly, my skin is acting totally bipolar—some days it’s fine, other days it’s just a complete disaster. It feels like the breakouts are even worse than before sometimes. They mostly flare up right before my period hits, and they’re pretty painful, too.
On top of that, my periods have become super heavy since starting Logest, which definitely wasn't the case before. How open-minded are doctors usually when it comes to switching brands because of stuff like this?
So, looking at my e-prescription for these pills, it says they can be picked up 7 days early or within 15 days after the date listed. Has anyone actually tried grabbing their meds before the official date? Does it cause any drama or pushback at the pharmacy counter? I’ve got a trip coming up for about 20 days, and I’m heading out roughly 10 days before the date on the script, so I’m wondering if I can just get them ahead of schedule.
Also, quick question on how the renewal process works—I was given this prescription for 6 months. Can I just give my sister a call and have her extend it, or am I stuck booking an appointment and showing up in person? I don't have my next check-up until after New Year's, so it seems pretty pointless to trek down there early if a quick phone call does the trick.

Seriously...? 🙂
