Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
Hey everyone, can someone point me toward a good proctologist in Washington, D.C.? I’ve been seeing a few names floating around—Arithera, Lastric, Ivanovic, and some doctor whose name starts with an R... Is there anyone else out there worth seeing? Also, any chance of finding a female specialist? Honestly, I'd much rather have a woman perform the exam if possible. :/
Thanks for the help!
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Hey ladies, I really need some input from you women on a few things...
I’m currently fighting a losing battle with massive hair loss—I used to have this thick, long, wavy mane, but now it’s just thin, dry, and weak; I can barely tie it into a tiny little walnut-sized bun. On top of that, my gums are bleeding, my eyes are super sensitive and dry (I can't even stare at my computer screen like I used to without them watering constantly), and I am just exhausted—and I mean *exhausted*—even after getting a full eight hours of sleep. I’ve been reading up on it and suspect it might all be tied to a hormonal imbalance, though my dermatologist immediately tried to push steroids on me, my dentist wants me to get a deep scaling for my gums, and for my eyes, I'm stuck using artificial tears and drops that honestly don't do much. All of this is seriously tanking my quality of life.

Things have taken a real turn for the worse over the last year, so I went ahead and got some testing done. My thyroid came back fine, my glucose tolerance test was okay, and my blood work looks normal. My periods are pretty regular—every 30 days, maybe swinging two days early or late.

Most of my sex hormones are within range, except for androstenedione, which is sitting above 19.5 when the reference interval tops out at 11.4. I just got the results yesterday, so I haven't had a chance to sit down with my OBGYN to go over the details yet, but obviously, that number is high.

I had a gut feeling it was some kind of hormonal mess-up involving excess male hormones, especially since I’ve noticed some increased hair growth in certain areas—but my ultrasound didn't show any signs of PCOS.
I wanted to know if anyone else here deals with similar symptoms? And specifically, would birth control pills (which I assume will be my only option) actually help restore my hair or fix these other issues?

Since I’ve never taken them before, does anyone know which brands are generally considered the best? Also, does anyone experience side effects like weight gain?

Is there any other way to get my hormones back in balance—maybe through herbal teas or something more natural?

Thanks so much for the help! Sorry I can't dive deep into the whole thread right now—I'm totally slammed with time—but I promise I'll read through everything once things settle down because I know there's good advice here. Right now, I just really need an answer.
Nicole Lee4 said:They usually just hand over standard packages, but if you want to be absolutely certain, you should probably set up a power of attorney—both you and the person you’re authorizing need to show up in person with your IDs and Social Security numbers.
It’s about $13.50.
But if it's just for a yearly thing, just give them a call and ask.

Thanks so much!
So, I’m heading out on vacation soon—finally!—and since I have no clue if my recent orders are actually going to show up while I'm gone, I need some answers. Can someone else just swing by the post office and grab my packages using that slip the mail carrier leaves behind when nobody's home? Or, if that's a no-go, is there a way to officially authorize someone (like, a written note or something?) to pick up my stuff for me? How does that whole process work, and is there an extra fee involved? Thanks!
I really need some help here.
Back on July 10th, 2010, I had a package worth about $13 sent over from the USA, and it still hasn't shown up at my door—not to mention I haven't received a single notification saying it's waiting for pickup somewhere.
Usually, my shipments from the USA arrive within 7 to 10 days, so now I’m starting to get seriously worried.
I already went down to my local post office to check, but all they could tell me was that they don't have any packages held under my name.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to track this thing down? Is there a specific place I can physically go, or maybe an email address or phone number I should call? Does the main post office in Branimirov have a specific department that handles undelivered mail?

Since I wasn't the one who sent it—and like I said, I haven't even gotten a notice that it exists—can I actually file a missing package claim? What does that process even look like? What kind of documentation do I need? All I have are two photos of the shipping confirmation from Royal mail (which the seller sent me) showing the date and my info. Will that be enough to help my case?

Please, please help! What should I do?

BTW, the seller didn't even put their return address on the envelope, so there's no way the package can just be sent back to them if it gets lost.
