OB/GYN Discussion Thread

Hey ladies,
here are a few of my own experiences...
My first gynecologist (back when I was 18, at the City Women's Hospital) was Dr. Grujić Koračin; she left such a wonderful impression on me. She was attentive and actually took the time to talk to me—just excellent. Unfortunately, she opened a private practice, which I couldn't afford back when I was a student.
Then there was Dr. Kovačević over in downtown Chicago—total butcher. I won't even get into what her office looked like; it reminded me of those run-down clinics you see in the deep rural South (don't ask why, that’s just how my brain filed it away—that rusty white exam table, a single bare bulb hanging from the ceiling, at least it was back then, yikes).😢
I could barely make an exit; the woman wouldn't let me leave, so I had to lie and say I was moving to Springfield and needed to change doctors... it was awful.🙂
Later on, during college, there was another one—I can't remember her last name, but she was a lovely lady. She ended up moving to work in Canada.
After that, Dr. Neda Bingula over near the Union Station area—super sweet, experienced, attentive, and highly professional. She always talked everything through with me. She retired, though, *sniff*.
She was replaced by a young doctor who I really didn't care for—poor communication, inattentive, and just clumsy.
And then, the absolute kicker: a friend recommended Dr. Konrad Nižetić. I am fully aware that this man is a great doctor to some people, but the way he treated me was borderline grounds for a lawsuit...
So, I show up, and the nurse is okay (not great, not terrible). The doctor comes in, I start getting undressed, and he asks if I have a boyfriend. I tell him I do. I lie down on the table. I don't know about you girls, but I groom myself down there—not completely, obviously, but I shave a bit for hygiene reasons; things tend to collect there, and it just feels cleaner and more comfortable, plus, it makes things more pleasant for my boyfriend, too.🙂
The doctor starts the exam and says this: "You know what they say about your boyfriend? A crappy dick and hair get in the way!"
Just imagine being there, lying on the table, legs spread, a doctor's finger inside you, while he's making these disgusting comments...
Well, I just sat there in silence. What was I supposed to do? (Stupid girl!) He finishes the exam 🙂 and adds—"You have nice breasts..."
Now, you tell me—is it normal for a doctor to say that? Am I being overly sensitive or crazy, or am I just an idiot for not slapping him across the face and calling the local news?
I didn't pay for the exam, and it's been about two years since then. In the meantime, I've seen a doctor at a clinic over by the Mayo Clinic area—I wasn't thrilled. He's professional and polite enough, but he's as quiet as a fish, which is annoying because I want to know exactly what's happening and what my health status is.
I'm preparing to see a new doctor in the next few days. I'll read through all your posts to help decide, though I think I've already halfway decided on Dr. Grujić Koračin—I can actually afford her now, and she left me with such a positive memory.
