Thanks, guys. I agree—I don't think you need to swap out the thermal paste all that often, which is why I was asking about cleaning it without having to strip everything down. In the past, I've had paste last for five or six years without any issues—I mostly just focused on clearing the dust out from the radiator.

Regarding the drives, you hit the nail on the head. On my old Seagate, I actually installed a bottom vent years ago to help cool the electronics. It was one of those Diamond Max 9 series drives that used to run at a steady 50°C. Ever since I added that extra airflow underneath, the drive has been running flawlessly—though, to be fair, I did finally send it off into a well-earned retirement once upon a time. 🙂
Hey,
I’m running an aftermarket cooler—the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. I haven't really had to deal with cleaning out a rig using aftermarket cooling before, so I was wondering if there's any real need to actually unmount the heatsink when doing a deep clean. In the past, when I was just using a stock cooler, I’d just pop the fan off and hold the motherboard by the heatsink itself. Since those stock coolers are pretty compact, you can get away with that, but this thing is much bulkier—the leverage is definitely higher, and I’m worried about snapping something if I try to move the board that way.
My plan is basically to just lay the motherboard flat on my desk and blow everything out with some compressed air, then maybe use a brush on the board like I used to. Honestly, I don't really feel like reapplying the thermal paste since my temps are looking fine—it seems like a lot of extra work just to take the heatsink off for no reason.
Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
It's interesting—I didn't run a fever this time—it was just my respiratory tract that took a real hit.

My hemorrhoid started bleeding again after seven days. I'm wondering if it's okay to keep using Lidoproct, or if I should switch to something specifically to stop the bleeding. For now, I've just been rinsing and changing wipes—that’s about it. The intense pressure isn't there like it was before, so the pain has subsided, but the bleeding is constant.

Thanks for the quick response, Michael Diaz4 👍

I’ve been following everything correctly—I don't usually run into serious issues like this (this is only the second time things have felt a bit heavy). I just finished battling a nasty bout of the flu that sidelined me for ten days, and right as I was recovering, this flared up 🤣
Maybe it’s some kind of lingering reaction to the flu 🕺
Last time, I remember catching a cold and that's when things really flared up.

Generally, I try to eat healthy—lots of grains, vegetables, and such. I've cut out peppers entirely (I don't eat them often, but I do love them).

Hopefully, it clears up once I get through this tube of Lidoproct.
Asthma Management in Health ·
Thanks, Halleck—I'll see what my pulmonologist has to say.

For now, I'm heading to the ENT first because my throat stays constantly red—and I suspect it’s linked to that persistent morning sneezing that hits me out of nowhere. I've already gone through some antibiotics, but they didn't do much. To be honest, my throat has looked this way most of my life; I've just grown used to it. It doesn't actually hurt, so it's probably not an infection, just irritation. I have a feeling that allergy is messing with my vocal cords too—I find myself getting hoarse quite easily.

Hi there!
I deal with allergic bronchial Asthma—it was a struggle during my younger years, and now it flares up occasionally, mostly during ragweed season and when that autumn fog rolls in. My nose runs, and my chest feels tight, making breathing feel heavy (not quite full-blown choking, just labored breathing).

In the past, using two doses of a Ventolin inhaler helped quite a bit, but lately, it feels like it’s barely doing anything. The folks at the pharmacy suggested I talk to a doctor about getting a prescription for corticosteroids, but I don't feel like I really need them since my symptoms aren't life-threatening—I'm not sure why they're being so insistent.

Does anyone know of an over-the-counter alternative similar to Ventolin that I could try? I recall hearing that clenbuterol was used before albuterol became the standard ingredient in things like Ventolin.
I would truly appreciate any advice or shared experiences. Thanks so much.
Laryngoscopy: What to expect? in Health ·
Has anyone here gone through this before? I’d love to hear about your experiences. I need to get my vocal cords examined, but my doctor warned me that it can be pretty uncomfortable. I’ve watched some clips on YT to see what to expect—which doesn't bother me much—but there is always that nagging worry about potential injury. To be honest, I don't have a lot of faith in our local specialists—I've seen how they treat patients firsthand.

Alexander Kern6 said:The process used to be a bit different—they’d specifically ask if you were opening the account for gambling or non-gambling purposes. Now, like you mentioned, it’s more about whether it's for personal or business use.
It sounds like our colleague likely opened his account a year or two ago when they still used that specific classification—that's probably why he's feeling uneasy now—but honestly, there shouldn't be any restrictions left; you should be able to use it for whatever you need.

When I set up my account just last month, they actually did ask me to choose between gambling and non-gambling—I went with the first option.

I haven't actually tried making a deposit to a sportsbook yet—so, I figured I'd check in here first to see if anyone else ran into issues. I'd really rather avoid a situation where my account gets frozen out of nowhere.

So, there shouldn't be an issue with Seattle if I specify my intended use—they won't just freeze my account out of nowhere, right?
At the very least, they ought to send some kind of warning if I'm actually breaking a rule.

My account is mainly set up for receiving funds—that’s what I stated when I signed up—since I mostly use it to collect payments from freelance sites.
I wasn't even thinking about gambling back then.
It just felt to me like those two things were mutually exclusive—as if you had to pick a lane immediately and stick to it, and that was that.

Thanks, Arthur Howard...

Could someone clarify how I can specify the purpose of my deposit?
Also, if I already have a balance in my account, do I need to make a separate transfer specifically for gambling—or can I just use what's already there?

Just a quick question here... is it necessary to set up a specific PayPal account if someone just wants to make deposits at an online sportsbook?
So, if I already have a standard account, am I correct in assuming I shouldn't be using it for this kind of thing?

Is it actually possible to hold two separate accounts under the same name—one for receiving payments (like for freelance work) and another strictly for betting purposes?
Voice issues / Losing my voice in Health ·
Hi there.

I’ve been dealing with this issue for quite a while now—honestly, since I was a kid.
My voice has never really had much volume or projection, which made communicating in loud environments or even just sitting in a classroom pretty difficult.
As a child, I dealt with a few bouts of tonsillitis and middle ear infections, though nothing particularly severe at the time. I'm 30 now.

I never thought much of it back then, but it still follows me today, making daily life and basic conversation a struggle.
Regarding pitch, my voice sits right in the average range for a man—not too high, not too deep—but the real issue is the intensity; it seems to drop off exponentially the longer I speak.

I haven't sought any professional medical advice yet, so I was wondering what the typical procedure looks like, what specific tests I should ask for, and roughly what the costs might be.

Are there certain exercises meant to strengthen the vocal cords? And is there any hope for correcting this—whether through non-invasive methods or something more clinical.

Thanks for your input.
The link between muscles and teeth in Dentistry & Oral Hygiene ·
Thanks, Gerald Smith76. I had already assumed there was a direct link between the jaw and the muscles of the head and neck—but I’m curious if there's a connection to more distant parts of the body through a sort of compensatory chain reaction.
By that, I mean how other bodily systems might try to compensate for jaw imbalances or asymmetries. It reminds me of how flat feet can cause knee issues and eventually lead to spinal misalignment, like scoliosis. There's even that old saying about how dental problems can trigger issues in vital organs.

I really believe it's crucial to pin down these specific mechanisms—it would go a long way in highlighting why preventive dentistry, and preventive medicine in general, is so vital. Unfortunately, whenever I start looking at the big picture like this, I tend to run into conspiracy theories suggesting people are just pushing alternative methods.
The link between muscles and teeth in Dentistry & Oral Hygiene ·
Hi everyone!

I happened to stumble upon this diagram on an "alternative" health site http://www.whale.to/m/dental.html, and I was hoping some of the experts here could weigh in—does a neurological link actually exist between our teeth and other parts of the body that could trigger systemic issues?

In my own case, I’ve been dealing with persistent tension in my neck muscles and the right side of my subscapular muscles—which, according to this theory, might be tied to bruxism in my right upper molars and premolars; they've worn down quite a bit due to a malocclusion issue (that's why I'm currently wearing braces).
There are certain theories regarding piezoelectric effects occurring when the upper and lower jaws meet—the idea being that these tiny electrical charges might interfere with nerve impulses, potentially disrupting muscle function or even the operation of other organs.

From my own experience, I frequently feel numbness in areas where the malocclusion causes increased pressure—though my dentists have insisted it's just psychological and nothing to worry about.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can share!
