Why are some people always in such a rush? in Psychology ·
Paul Bennett3 said:I find myself rushing around all the time too, completely for nothing... As I get older, I’m learning to slow down. I realize I can eventually get everything done. People today just seem so overwhelmed—work, kids, spouses, making dinner... It’s no wonder everyone is in such a frantic hurry, even if some people have that natural knack for handling it all without the stress and drama. Not all of us are blessed with that gift. There’s this constant fear of falling behind. What will the boss say? What will my husband think? Someone is always breathing down your neck, especially when you're still trying to find your footing. It really just comes down to your personality type.

And what's he actually gonna say, like we're all just gonna sit here shaking in our boots? If he wants dinner, he can whip something up himself, set the table, and do the damn dishes too ;-) Why should he be waiting on a woman to handle that, or the kids, or basically anything else around the house?

A few months back, I got pretty lazy, if I'm being real—like, the second I walked through the door, I'd just crash with a book and wouldn't touch a vacuum or a dust rag for a whole week (I still did my usual stuff, and my man handled his business like he always does). I didn't get a single complaint from him. 😁
Luckily, I couldn't stand living in a dump like that, so I got my act together pretty fast. :-)

Jamie Newman5 said:The answer is pretty straightforward. It’s because my schedule tomorrow is already stacked, and the day after that is just as bad. If I push something off today, tomorrow becomes an absolute nightmare.

Blessed are those who actually manage to find free time these days. I have no clue how they pull it off—unless they aren't busy raising kids, I guess. If you don't have little ones constantly needing something, then sure, maybe it's possible.

I’m looking forward to my first real break in about twenty years once the kids finally grow up. Though, by then, relaxing will probably be impossible anyway. Old habits die hard.

Honestly, @amberscout6, I find it incredibly difficult to connect with anyone who can't keep up. 🤷

We manage to stay free because we don't have kids running around😁 👍

I couldn't handle a packed schedule if it killed me because all that extra pressure just stresses me out way too much👎 I love being on the move, but only when it’s for stuff I actually want to do, like catching a show on Broadway, hitting up a museum, going to church, or checking out some cool event downtown—basically anything that's a choice rather than an obligation.
As for the stuff I absolutely have to get done, I just knock it out in a reasonable timeframe, neither rushing through it instantly nor dragging my feet forever.

Is it just me, or are banks over here suddenly acting like they need your full driver's license number and your entire legal name just to make a simple deposit? They started doing this crazy stuff recently, and when I asked them what the hell they needed it for, they had the nerve to claim it’s just so they have "proof" that I actually made the payment!🤔What on earth do they need my ID number for anyway?!!!
